[Q] Cost for motherboard replacement. - LG Optimus Black

Hi guys,
My mobile fell in the ground somedays back and power button was not working from that day..So I went to LG service centre today, that guy told we cant fix this as some chip came out and told me to replace the motherboard. He told it will cost around Rs2,500(46.45$).When I asked him motherboard will cost faround Rs10000(185.8$) he told there is some discount for the motherboard. Can anyone confirm here whoever got a motherboard recently.
Thanks

First make confirm whether it is CHIP or MOTHERBOARD problem.
If it is CHIP prob, then go for to buy it.
If it is motherboard prob, waste to buy for with that much amount.
(Recently (my previous phone LG P500) got MOTHERBOARD changed, it cost 3,000)
But it seem 10000 is very high for LG optimus black, think once again.
It is better to you to buy LG Nexus 4 instead spending 10,000 on this motherboard (note that Nexus has no external memory)

I got quoted $280.50 AUD for my motherboard two weeks ago for to replace my motherboard for the crack as shown in my signature.

LGE replace the motherboard in some countries even if the phone is not in warranty anymore because they know that some series of P970 have the faulty motherboard.that's the whole "magic".

160eur for me when i bricked mine last year.

There were some tomorrow tutorials about recovering IMEI, search for them.

LG Optimus One P500 not detecting any network
Hi friends!
My LG P500 suddenly developed a problem that it does not register to any network and keeps showing a sim icon with a red exclamation sign on the notification bar. It is not taking any sim card. I showed it at local repair shops and all who checked it said that it is incorrigible.
I showed it at LG care. They have said that they would charge INR 2500 and take the older motherboard along with it. They are giving 3-month warranty.
Can anyone suggest what I should do or if there is a way to get it mended?

with the latest se tweaker tool.
I followed the guide and went through the process and the tweaker tool said succesfully unlocked bootloader.
but then, when I turned off the phone to check it on S1 it wouldnt go on flashmode nor power on and it wont charge as well.
Is there anyway that i could do?
It's maybe not bricked..
Take the battery out for a minute then reinsert and plug in charger..
Leave for 4hrs charging without touching the phone.. It might turn itself on..
have greater chance of success, doesnt mean its sure....but i agree that it is misleading...
its hard brick, send it to se repair shop or to the trash!
send it SE if u have warranty, otherwise take it to a phone repairing shop
Thank you for your replies.
I guess I'm gonna have to try first what CtrlAltDelIrl suggested, and if won't work then cause I am not under warranty anymore, I would have to take it to a repair shop like what the rest of you agreed on.
I just hope it wouldn't cost me much to have it repaired.

[Q] Booting problem

Last Sunday I tried to update my S5830's firmware, from Froyo to Gingerbread, but I accidentally used the wrong firmware. The firmware was for a Samsung I5510. My phone won't start up or boot into recovery or download. The lights of the back button and menu button are faint. Is there anything I can do to fix my phone?:crying:

If you are in warranty then you're lucky.
Show it to your samsung service center. If they can't solve it, there's hardly any chance of getting your phone back.
Yeah, I brought it again at another Samsung Service Center and they said that the motherboard has a problem. I smell something lazy at the service center. How much is the JTAG?

I've searched once (a long time ago) and it was something like US$150. Here on Brazil, if the company doesn't repair your product within 30 days, they HAVE to give you a new product or refund your money. Check with your local laws to see if something like this apply, it might be the best solution if the Sammy Service Center is too lazy and take too much time.

Find the thread "How to disassemble Optimus Black".
More devices failure, seems this part of the board is weak.
Monitor your temperature, a statusbar temp monitor. If you'll see the battery there's a warning of it not exceeding in 40°C.
Anything higher will take a toll on parts and battery in due time.
Avoid OCing (ICS/JB) for now as LG's kernel is in shambles in terms of voltage/Power Management.

It's more than that as OP said service center wants to replace the board. So it's a hardware failure.

QHSUSB_DLOAD is Qualcomm High Speed USB Download mode. It is how HTC puts software onto the phone. A few phones have came back from in with no explanation as to why, but most are hard bricked. There is no know fix other than sending it to HTC. They will replace the phones main board and reflash it. It is not a warranty repair, so you'll have to pay for it.

There is a reason every developer includes a disclaimer with their software. You chose to unlock the bootloader, you chose to run modified software, and now it falls on you to accept responsibility for a bricked device. HTC may fall for that line, but I doubt it. The 4.2.2 updates been out for a while now and there have been no reports of it bricking phones, where as several devices running custom roms have had this happen. More than likely HTC will see through the bull**** story. But who am I to be your moral compass? Go ahead and give it a try. Let us know how it goes.

I wouldn't recommend JTAG on the One. The body is almost impossible to get apart without damaging it.

Well your One is basically a fancy paperweight the way it is, and if they'll do it under warranty great. Two months is a long time, but at least its not $200.
