[Q] SetCPU Settings - Samsung Galaxy Mini

Greetings!
Please don't flame me for not searching the forums enough, but I hadn't had the best of luck finding what I wanted. And what I wanted was, somebody to help me put together some nice, working profiles for my S6500D (Galaxy Mini 2). I'm going to share my current settings which I'm using at the moment, but aren't working out very well for me. So, I'd really appreciate if someone would share some insight on his Galaxy Mini settings.
Here are mine:
Battery > 40°C, priority 100 CPU 245-480 interactive
Screen off, priority 95 CPU 245-320 interactive
Charging any, priority 90, CPU 245-800 interactive
In call, priority 70, CPU 600-800 interactive
Battery < 10%, priority 51, CPU 480-480 interactive
Battery < 31%, priority 46, CPU 480-600 interactive
Battery < 51%, priority 41, CPU 480-800 interactive
Like I said, I'm still in the learning mode, and this is the best I could come up with. But I'd like your help to improve it. I've noticed interactive has las lag when switching between mods, but maybe you could advise another governor? I'm using squadzone's kernel.

P.S. I'm using the 3.0.7 version of SetCPU and my main settings are 245-800 ondemand/sio. Hope this helps.

Sorry for the shameless bump, but I'm kinda shocked nobody wanted to discuss this thread, let alone help.
I appologise if I've offended anyone by not searching thoroughly enough, but the clockrates differ from model to model, and I wasn't able to find the rates for my S6500D, so please, once more, if anyone has some insight - share it. Would greatly appreciate it.

[Q] Explanation of different governors

Hi guys.
I would like to know the differences amongst various governors. I googled a bit and both on the net and XDA I found some explanations, but not all the governors I have are properly explained. Some of them are not explained at all.
Is there anybody able to help me?

ondemandx
Ok, some of them like lagfree could be self-explanatory, but I would be grateful if somebody could be more clear...

Ok, so, to be honest using only Google I found this:
lazy (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1276092) - is ondemand but with an added option to stay longer on a certain frequency. This is due to the fact that some CPU's dont like too quick freq changes when sampling rate for decision making is set too low. See link for more.
lulzactive (http://tegrak2x.blogspot.com/2011/11/lulzactive-governor-v2.html) - is basically interactive governor with added smartass bits and variable (as opposed to fixed amout) frequency scaling, based on currently occuring cpu loads. Has, like smartass, a sleep profile built-in. See link for details on exact scaling.
lagfree (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1272933) - seems to be ondemand but with a lessend tendency to ramp up to 100% but rather also use steps available in between 0-100%.
intellidemand (freely translated from http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-hacking-modding-fuer-samsung-galaxy-s2/185085-ist-ein-governor.html) - behaves like ondemand when the system is under heavy use, it behaves differently when the system is mostly ideling. That mode is colled "browsing mode" or "browser mode" or whatever. It seems to be some sort of "intelligent" demand sensing/analysing ondemand governor.
smartassV2 - this one should be known. It's the same as smartass(V1) but tweaked. Same code author. I heard one should use smartassV2 instead of smartass when available.
ondemandx - is ondemand with an added sleep profile built-in. I believe all ...X kernels are the default kernels but with an added sleep profile.
Just in case you wonder: I use Savagedzen, I somehow like it best. And I have to get up at 4:20am thats in 2:48h so you may excuse me if I go to bed.

Yea, it will, but it may be laggy and slow from time to time.

This explains why my SGS is slow as hell on Powersave...which governor would you recommend?

OnDemand, Conservative or SmartassV2 are a good compromise regarding speed and battery. Your battery will discharge a bit faster ofc but your phone will be smoother as well. Use CoolTool for live statistics of the CPU frequency.
Just play around a bit with the settings and use the link I posted above for help. If you want to know anything, feel free to ask me
There are several other settings on kernel side which affect speed and battery life.

Can I run SetCPU with all the kernels or just use the Kernel's governors (like Devil's let you choose a governor).
P.S - Tried the SmartassV2 looks okay to me a bit laggy though...

Yeah, SetCPU can be run with any kernel. You can download the devil kernel app on Google Play to set everything, so SetCPU is redundant.
Statistics are quite obvious - the phone should hit min. frequency as soon as possible on the one hand and it shouldn't lagg on the other hand Lazy governor is good as well.
Btw: You are here to learn something so it's absolutely okay if you ask questions. That "noob-excuse" is kinda lame cuz you read and study the stuff by asking others /reading topics Everyone has to learn to succeed.

[Q] Battery life approximations / extension suggestions on custom kernels

Hi all.
I would like to ask whether someone can point me to any approximations on how battery drains on custom kernels (thus probably utilizing under/over-clock) compared to stock kernel battery drain? The point of my question is, what is better - custom or stock - for battery life and to what extent / in what usage scenarios it is better.
Also I'd be glad if anyone can share some efficient SetCPU profiles (combinations of min/max freq, governor, i/o scheduler)
In my case I'm using XzKernel 23 and I'll be glad to share details of my battery draining details and my suggested SetCPU profiles if anyone wants it for comparison with his own.

Hey guys wondering if anyone has their htc one m7 undervolted at the moment and what voltage they are running at. Also what does everyone here recommend for governors and schedules for similar to stock performance with best possible battery life. Thanks!

Thank you, I already went through a couple forums for kernels compatible to aosp lollipop but as the forums were newer I could not find much in terms of settings. Are their any forums you particularly recommend?

Its not because someone is having good results at X volts that you will have the same. Every chip is slightly different and you should try yourself by reducing in small increments untils the phone is not stable. Then you know the minimum voltage your chip can deal with. Add a safety margin to that and you're pretty much done.
Also what does everyone here recommend for governors and schedules for similar to stock performance with best possible battery life.

If you want it similar to stock then Id suggest to use the interactive gov.

Alright thanks for the info. I have been undervolting cpu chips since intel released sandy bridge so Im well aware of the silicone lottery and how to adjust voltages, however im just looking for a relative range of what to expect. Also how do you go about stress testing on a phone Ive downloaded a couple apps but Im questioning their reliability. In regards to the interactive gov, for some reason whenever I select this gov my phone freezes and reboots. It may be an issue with the kernel but no other people have reported it, all other governors seem to work fine, so therefore for the time being I cant use them governor. I have been using the "badass" governor for a couple days but found it a little laggy so im trying "smartassv2" atm.

I've had this watch since it first came out and had given up on finding the sweet spot between battery life and performance until about a week ago. I came here to post this in the ROM/Kernel thread, but this seems as good a place as any:
CPU Max Freq: 533
CPU Govenor: Powersave
I/O Scheduler: noop or deadline (maybe someone smarter than me can weigh in on which is better)
Virtual Memory > ZRAM: 560 (this is where I've got mine set and the performance is SUPER SMOOTH. However, again, maybe someone smarter than me can recommend a better setting)
Hope it works as well for you as it has for me! If you find a better solution, let us know.
