Neat! Where was it located?
Sorry i cannot edit; can this ne an hint for the next version of android?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
I had this on my xperia arc with 4.1.1 too
I've also found this, under about phone tap the android version number 5 times (might have to spam it a bit), then hold your finger on the image that pops up.
go to settings and tab the software version repeatedly until that screen pops up. then you will see jellybeans everywhere.
leave that screen on and just press power button to sleep device and then press again to wake it. once unlock the screen the jelly bean easter egg is refreshed. keep repeating the sleep/wake screen unlock step until you see the candy cane floating around.
sometimes it takes more than a few tries.
And it's interactive... the idea is to touch and flick all the jellybeans off the screen... when you get the screen completely clear... out get another easteregg surprise
Can't seem to find that candy cane yet. I'll keep trying though.
Cool find, OP!
Next android version will be Kandy cane?

I got the screen clear multiple times and nothing happened except more jelly beans slowly creeping out of the edges. What's supposed to be the other easteregg surprise?
Wanted to play with the jelly beans but the rom I'm using only shows one big red jelly bean in the center of the screen

Found the candy cane. When you lock an unlock the screen or shift from portrait to landscape it repopulates the jelly beans. Took me 73 tries

Google calls it a jandycane
Do the same with ParanoidAndroid version number on a PA rom.
I remember when this was first reported back in July... I thought it was a photoshop at first, but after a couple tries, I saw it.
If some of you have am Android 4.0 ICS device, ICS has a similar "Easteregg within the Easteregg" - kinda "Nyan Droid" like, lol.

Yes, i've tested it on my Arc S. Enter the easter egg and then just keep pressing on the droid and it will get bigger and the "Nyan Droid" animation will begin!

Edit: I am off work the next three days so i will be adding lots more to this list. I will also be creatingg animated gifs of each boot animation so you can see them before you download.
Edit: I have now included demos for each one. Keep in mind a animated gif image is not very high quality. It is meant to give you a general idea. All of these will look much better on your phone. I have also cleaned up all the links to make things look less cluttered. I also decided to not embed the animated gifs here so that this page wouldnt take forever to load. Tomorrow i will be adding more animations after i finish optimizing them for our screens. Also when i hit 800 total downloads ill be releasing a animation i created myself. Im currently at 286 downloads thus far. Goodnight XDA.
Will be adding more as soon as i can (I work 4-12 EST most days of the week)
Leave requests in the comments below. If they are not meant for our screen size i will optimize them for our screen size first.
Nice, good too to have options.

Hey man..
Just thought of another suggestion. I dont know how much time your work take or anything like that.. But I personally would like a SF 49ers particle red.. Kind of like the cyanogen one but the SF 49ers symbol instead.. That would be cool. Only if you have time man.
We have some quality ICS ROM's almost finished for the likes of the Desire S and Galaxy S, so I've been looking for a bootanimation.zip featuring the new Android character. You know, the droid that's half biscuit/half ice cream.
The best I found on Youtube was this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8W-HJOgWwg
I had a look around the forums and it doesn't look like anyone has made one yet.
I'm no good with photoshop myself. Would any of you good people that make these things be willing to have a go at making one?
I'll make you one. I'll do it in a bit. I'm still in bed. Getting up in a while :L so other people, don't worry about making it. I'm on it

P.s. GiffGaff FTW!
Damn. I dont have sufficient internet connection to attach
.... bare with me. Ill do it from mediafire
Thanks!
I didn't want the logo underneath the 'droid. Any text could just say 'ICS' or 'Android 4' or something, so that it could be used with various ROM's. Or you could just have no text and just the 'droid dude.
I tell you what would be cool: a green Android eating an ice cream sandwich!
That would probably require 3D modelling software though. Not an easy task.

Edit your build.prop and add this line:
qemu.hw.mainkeys=1
It's cool if you like to use LMT or PIE, that permit to use the full screen and keep the statusbar features.
Need a reboot.
Don't use "expand desktop" option.
Off course, activate another Softkeys/navbar solution (LMT,PIE...) BEFORE add the line in the build.prop !
LMT : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330150
PIE is roughly the same (less functions) as LMT and it's directly inculded in PA, RootBox...
Please report how it work on other ROM/Kernel.
Edit : Now using PA, just go to Settings/Hybrid Property/Interface dans set Nav. Bar to 0.
That do the trick.
Enjoy
Thanks, didn't think it was that easy.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Thank you for this. Great information. Sadly can't access that file yet until I am rooted, but I do look forward to it.
in pa you simply set navbar to 0%. done. no reboot needed. and pie is not part of lmt. lmt is a ready made google control tweaked a bit. pie is an open source control written from scratch. everything that goes beyond simple navigation is pie and was pies from the beginning. lmt took/replicated some of these ideas now, but please someone stop that meme already, i seriously cant see it anymore. everyday lmt gets another idea from us and people then come and say we got it from them is like a kick in the kneecap.

Doesnt make a difference in PA, same effect as setting the nav bar to 0% in PA settings the issue I have is that PIE works in basic mode where there is only the buttons no notifications when I activate it. Would rather have that function as I liked that part of it .
If you look at this thread again Moles, any idea?.

I use PIE included in Rootbox box and no problem, no lag or anything esle. It's a a quitte difficult at the beginning to get the right movement but a bit of training and it's good for me.

I use Button Savior with this line added to system/build.prop "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1". Works like a charm. Button Savior is available at https://play.google.com/store/search?q=button+savior and provides hidden soft keys navigation available with a simple swipe or by clicking an app icon. Works with any launcher.

Although it's been said already, make sure you have an alternate nav key option installed before adding that line.

As most of u will already know, tapping the android version in settings several times in a row brings up the easter egg, that shows in our case the ICS android. By long tapping the android, floating androids will pop up....
Does anyone know, where this animation is located?

ViperROM does that by tapping the top of the notification window.
Anyways, I don't see how this is any better than the other stock ROMs at the moment as they all have the same features. Don't care for the color either... The dark blue really strains the eyes.

I don't think it should go into the original forum because it's still based on Sense. Even if it's tricked out a lot, which is awesome. I really want to try it because it seems they did put a lot of work into it....

mines not blue and to add to your point there, asop and aokp are based off vanilla android so then none should go in og dev then
Cause really we all just modify someone elses work be it goggle, htc, Samsung (in htc's case fix some of it too)
On a side note, I always assumed original dev was for roms based on original android, as that's how I've always seen it done. But I can see the amount of original work and code that's gone into this
Sent from my HTCONE using xda app-developers app
Nope original dev was for more than stock or different from the rest i would guess. Derp rom was in lte og dev the whole time i was in that team
Sent from a Tweaked Out HTC ONE
Derp One will be moved to original development soon enough. Everyone just started so the similarities to stock are still there. Bad seed does a lot behind the scenes so don't underestimate the original work done on that rom.
Also, there are plenty of aosp roms for the lte that were in the "stock" development forum. Honestly if you don't feel it belongs there, pm a mod, don't start any drama

I wish ROMs that offered ugly themes provided a way to flash back to a stock Sense look. Bevel and emboss hasn't been okay to use in digital graphics in nearly a decade. Neither have solid colors with no textures.
