[Q] Unable to flash

Okay. I'll tell you what I've done from the beginning, and whats happening now.
First off i rooted the phone. Had a problem with the phone, so I used OneClick to install ClockWorkMod. Went over to CM. Stayed there for a few days. Flashed baseband to 502. Problem still occured. Used smartflash to flash back to stock.
Now I'm stuck with a baseband that won't let me install the LG upgrade. WHen i try to install ClockWorkMod again i get this crap

Tried on 2 different computers, with correct drivers. How ****ed am I, and how do I fix it?
Please help me installing clockworkmod, so I can run a nandroid restore.

Did you check what ext your phone is on?

cm uses ext3, and smartflash does a complete wipe and restore, including setting up new partitions, so file system shouldn't really make a difference anyway..
You can't restore your baseband with clockworkmod, that one have to be flashed with smartflash.
When smartflash is done, your phone will go into a bootloop. just unplug cable, reinsert battery and turn on your phone

Thank you for answering, but as I said "And when i try to smartflash back to 315 baseband i get "Download complete (100%)" after about 2 seconds and nothing more happens, and the phone goes into a LG logo/black screen loop".

What happens if you answer no to the odmvalue question?
I have never seen that one myself..
Also try press initialization after phone is connected and try again..

Weird. Tried to update at first with this one: LGUnitedMobileDriver_S4981MAN32AP22_ML_WHQL_Ver_3.2.1
Didn't work, but what actually worked was unzipping the exe file with 7zip. Then going into device manager while connected, and updating the driver manually. Flashed, and on current baseband. Thanks for trying!

[Q] how to remove clockword mod recovery

Hi all
This problem that I have is pissing me off so much. I rooted my phone and then unrooted it, and then my Android Market icon was missing. Now, whenever I want to do a factory reset, the phone goes back to ClockworkMod Recovery every single time. I want to get rid of this CMR. Also, I've tried to stock original rom on my phone but it does not work at all. What is happening? My phone is LG Optimus 2x P990. But I always get this error where I can't apply the DLL file. This really annoying me right now. I've tried everything and NOTHING works. I regret rooting my device.

You can flash the original image using SmartFlash.
Get your original Firmware image from here. The instructions for SmartFlash are here

how to flash the zip
sorry I am completely new to this. How do I apply the zip? Do I boot into recovery mode and install zip from there? I have done this with other zip files before and it always ended with:
'installation aborted'
im trying it now, but its stuck at:
'Restoring stock recovery image'

smart flash
smart flash doesn't work for me. I always get this time out error.. I really don't know what to do now. The recovery stock file did install but then I chose 'reboot system now' in CWM and it got stuck with the LG logo. Now, it's back to ClockWork Recovery Mod again!! i don't understand. Please help.. what type of error?
your device-manager on your pc recognizes your 2x, when you connect it as described in the instructions?

and now, I can't start my phone. It gets stuck on LG logo. I tried the remove CWM method, it worked but when I rebooted my phone, my phone would not start at all. P. Please help.

Same with me. Go on trying at some point it will work. It happens with me everytime i flash with smartflash. Myself also waiting for a definite solution to this problem. i think the problem lies with usb drivers. I also tried with taking out card and sim but cannot pinpoint the problem. Any successful flasher may upload the drivers. Moreover i also disabled programmes like antivirus etc running in background. Waiting for a more definite problemfree flashing solution.

I think, install drivers to smartflash, no other drivers, and later smartflash.

Phone bricked. i need urgent help!

Hi, i recently installed nova 8. Before installation i did a clean wipe and install according to instruction.
However i did a backup of my stock rom with clockworkmod.
I wanted my stock rom back so i did a recovery using clockworkmod back to my stock rom backup, and it bricked my phone.
Now all it is saying is "ERROR LG security team"
Can anybody please help me out on this?

Does the flash start and the connection breaks while it's half way through?
Or doesn't it even start flashing?
Either way, sounds either like a: a) driver problem, or b) you're not flashing it on software upgrade screen.

It always always breaks when its at the third stage, the "update" stage. When it is 3%

Well, that happened to me once. The connection would break every time on 16%.
I fixed it by changing the computer where I made the flash.
It's usually a driver mixup so you should try to uninstall every driver and then install them again. Or formatting your computer. Or changing to another one.

Okay, i'll try reinstalling everything

Theres still problem communicating between cell phone and pc.

You could always try with another pc, if that works you know what the problem is

How was it now? Is it fixed?
I've also encountered this problem. And for me, I flashed it successfully.
Kindly double check the steps you are doing. I just have some tips:
-Please check your LG drivers carefully (USB, Modem, etc.)
-Verify if msmxl, b2c update, windows enabler are there.
-Rename your KDZ file (e.g. leave only the V10e.kdz or whatever your firmware version is). -This worked for me when it is stucked.
By the way, thanks for Ilko's guide.
Please take note of the last point. I was able to flash it after renaming the kdz file.

[Q] baseband unknown,battery 999% and can't flash baseband via smart flash

i'm using su660. I used cm9 cook rom, but I see it no stability, so I had to reflash stock rom. And from this time, i have some problems: baseband unknown,battery 999%,wifi error. I try to flash by smart flash,but just flash success file .bin, file .fls always says " error". I have tried on multiple computers,win7,xp sp3 but the same error occurred:
Trying to communicate with IFX modem, and then - timeout error.
I tried with nvflash but that situation still exists.
What can I do to fix it?

What is The error? U can press volume - and power to flash, or volume - + and power.

I entered it as a smart flash by flash, I have flash file system .bin. Error occurs only on file .fls

when its the RIL not the BB. it cant read the BB if the RIL is not matching.I get something similar ,strange.

Try flashing the stock rom with smartflash.

agree with it, start from scratch with the latest from your carrier or from lg.

I am having the same issues. I tried using smart flash tool and that is what caused the baseband loss in the first place (i was trying to flash original su660 rom) Is there something I did wrong?

I just tried it all again. If you have an su660 you should head over to android development su660 and they should point you in the right direction.

I FIND SOMETHING. When you discharge your phone to ~15% everything back to normal and u can flash phone. When u charge it everythink breaks again. Now devs help. I charge phone to 21% and battery get 4180mV, im reboot phone and everything broken again. Battery status is unknow and baseband too. I change baseband to 0725 but it did not help. What we should do? Is the fault of the battery or firmware?

I had the same problem with the baseband and the battery, flashing stock then going back worked form me.

I have flashed v20q but I'm not sure if thats gonna work for you 100% you should give it a try, also I used smartflash.

I tried everything but i have problem with upgrade to official 30a. Till now, I used 28e harsh & tonyp, and first i try to upgrade with nvflash and i did it with out any problems, but my WiFI didn't work after it. Then i tried with smartflash and it always show me error like this:

02:55.6 Sec :Code Download success
02:55.6 Sec :Num of partitions are 7
03:05.6 Sec :Timeout error is occured
03:05.6 Sec :error!
Sometimes it happened during that slow loading, but most of the time after loading and reading number of partitions. Now, when i go to phone info, it doesn't show me basebend, i don't have network, because my SIM is not recognized. I tried again with nvlash but problems remain the same?

It happened to me as well, so what I did was to change the USB cable which, for an unkown reason, wouldn't work for USB connection anymore (though the phone seemed to be properly recognized in SmartFlash.
So try with another cable, this may help. Also make sure your computer makes the noise telling you the phone was properly connected in SmartFlash mode before starting the SmartFlash process.

I made it successful just with switching fls and bin during flashing. I put fls under bin and bin under fls. And it worked

problem is occured due to ics partitions..
do the following steps.
1. nvflah any gb or froyo rom.
2. when u r on gb or froyo rom then flash the official ics rom via smartflah.
try this if works then please hit thanx.. n repute me.

Hi,
I don't know if this can help you, but for me work, base on my experience, (I suppose you will already have tried).
I get this error when i connect phone with smartflash opened, , then without disconnect phone, i close smartflash, and reopen smartflash, then i wait for COM, and then i can use smartflash, without timeout error, i've had to do so, both for the BB to ROM, because if i wasn't close smartflash one time (after connect phone), i get timeout error.
I've flashed independent files, first the BB, then i disconnected the phone from the PC, I waited about 10 seconds, and then reconnected in SmartFlash mode, for flash the ROM.
Latetly, i hadn't problems in nvflash mode for the CW.
Edit: seems that some people, at least here in Spain, is having problems if the SmartFlash run without the battery, according to the comments, it seems that they have had to do with the battery installed. And besides, they talk about can cause problems some USB ports
