I am a newbie ::: Please help

I am an EX iPhone user... I decided to switch to android because I like it beter than iOS and also because of Apple ways of treating the users. Well My Request is the following:
I really like this ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=814091 and I want to flash it on my galaxy s i9000XXJPP (PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED SCREENSHOT).
I updated via Kies from Eclair to Froyo.
I have recovery 3e.
I have installed ROM Manager... I tried to install the CWM from it but after I clicked boot into CWM, it just reboted into recovery 3e.
I have installed EXT2 tools and one click lagfix using the oclf from the market.
I have rooted my device using z4root.
I really do not know what are the steps to do that.
Can someone please help through the process of flashing this RAM? I do not want to wipe my data/settings/apps.
I experience the following issues with my SGS i9000:
Sometimes the reboot (boot) of the device does not go smooth and it shutsdown and re-reboots and it does that several times until I plug the usb cable. ALSO sometimes when I reboot (boot) while the USB cable is blugged in it does the same thing until I unplug the usb cable.
The battery life is very bad when using WIFI of watching a film etc...
The reception is bad and sometimes people call me but they get voicemail directly and then I recieve an sms from the provider telling me that somebody has called while my phone was unreachable. When I take the battery out and then put it in and turn on my device I get 4 signal bars, after a while I get 1 bar or nothing at all. I tested that and that's what happens all the time.
I need to get red of these issues... I hoop this ROM will do that.
I will really appretiate it if somebody writes a guide for me here.
Thanks in advance,
Firstly you'll need recovery 2e to be able to install clockworkmod. Follow the instructions here
Once you've install recovery 2e, flash clockworkmod. After that, you can backup your rom just incase anything goes wrong by using Rom Manager.
Then just download the latest version of Darky's rom, you can either have a no wipe version or a wipe version. Follow the instructions on the post for Darky's Rom.
I'm using Darky's Rom and it's sweeeeet. An awesome rom I must say
Hopefully that helped
Tell me how it goes and good luck!

I need a Roger's 2.1 CWM

I need a 2.1 CWM of rogers so I can update it using kies to 2.2. I am currently using a 2.2 CWM and it has an att logo at the front ): I would willingly spend extra hours to get rid of that att logo
att boot logo cannot be fixed by cwm flash.
but you are in luck - rogers stock rom flashes with ATT boot logo fix.
[STOCK ROMS] i896 Rogers 2.1 and 2.2 Warranty ROM Remove ATT boot, no dbdata error!! - xda-developers
use the 2.2 and you dont need keis!!!
link is also in my sig
Thanks but I cannot get into the download mode, The adb method is too complicated for me and it keeps saying device not detected after hours of trying, the 3 button method stopped working since I used the 1 click method by accident. The vol button method + usb doesnt seem to work either as I used the 1 click method ):
you need AIO captivate toolbox. something that doesnt require more than 3 brain cells to operate...
AIO toolbox can put your phone into download mode using adb commands for you.
or hold the 2 buttons plug in to computer, then let go after the screen comes on.
One click does not and will not mess up download mode. period.
Thanks, The AIO Toolbox is definitely a cool tool, I got it into download mode like this now
edit: it worked and I got into 2.1 but it wouldn't update ):

[Q]Rooting Stock 2.3.4 without usb?

Hello everyone, long time viewer but never really posted here.
Short story:
My phone was rooted and i was running CM7 but one day i decided to apply Rodriguezstyle 2.3 i believe but then my phone was basically bricked?
It would boot to Nexus X logo and it would loop on that screen.
Pugged in my SD card through an SD card reader and I used the Passimg.zip method because i couldn't ADB.
I've ordered a new USB from ebay because mine broke and basically Windows is giving me Device Not Recognized.
So after getting fastboot working it auto read my Passimg.zip and phone was restored to stock rom.
Also didn't realize like a fool i've been asked by google to Update phone so I have upgraded to 2.3.4 without realizing rom what i've read so far it's hard to root 2.3.4 stock but there is a few methods with ADB but i can't use adb.
My question.
Anyway to root phone with SD card plugged into to PC only ?
Anyway to get ADB to recognize SD card reader as a device?
Can i root maybe with a working app?
MY MAIN PROBLEMS.
Missing working USB to recognize phone as device.
POWER BUTTON Broken. :\
Cannot use fastboot to go into recovery which is why i couldn't even do it when my phone wouldn't go past the X logo.
Anyway to maybe store a Script to apply to SD card to make phone boot into recovery mode?
Sorry if it seems confusing. :\
Please i need your help, need root on my phone. Stock Rom has horrible battery life and also i need trackball wakeup since i have missing Power btn.
(i turn it on by plug in power and take battery in and out.)
Thank you!
Looking forward to some responses
Passimg again, and use one of the app based roots...
What are good ones.? I tried gingerbreak but screen hangs when it tries to root and never restarts.
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
Used PASSIMG.ZIP Method.
Restored it to 2.1 stock rom.
Then used z4root and it worked like a charm!
rooted, installed clockwork app and recovery and
Just installed an awesome ROM!
MIUI 1.6.10
Everything is working great.
Sorry for the post.

[Q] [BRICK] Bricked by dual bootstrap - Can someone help me?

I am a milestone 2 owner and I messed it up.
I came from 2.3.6 GB Retail ROM, and run a bootstrap first time to go to CM7.2, and it is ok.
After a time, I decided to go to CM9.
And I run the bootstrap for second time.... so I got it bricked.
What I tryed before to ask?
1. Power up + Up arrow - doesnt work
2. Power up + x - Goes to blank screen
3. Power up + Volume Down + Camera = Bootloader OK
And a lot of another combinations that doesnt work.
The problem is the Phone isnt recognized by PC, I tryed using USB_Drivers_Bit.... 3 or 4 different versions...
I tryed Motorola motocast drivers...
Moto Helper (from first to last version)
And everytime is the same thing "your device can't be recognized".
I am thinking about to try ADB drivers, and at least Flash a SBF from linux, with SBF_FLASH scrypt.
And for worse, my battery is down.
Can someone give me a little help?

Click to collapse
Before you flash anything try to fully charge your battery and if that doesn't work replace it with a fully charged battery, for drivers also try PDAnet universal drivers. But yes ADB drivers should work. If your going to flash anything using SBF I'd flash a stock image, go into recovery then wpie data and cache, then perform a factory reset. Then carefully follow the procedure (To prevent problems) for installing CM9 on the milestone 2.

[Q] Softbricked - Stuck on Samsung logo

Hi Guys/Gals
I appreciate that there are quite a few thread out there for softrbick solutions but some are a little dated and tbh i didn't want to do something that would further wreck my phone so i needed your guys expert advice.
Ive have a GT-N7000 (unrooted and with custom rom) and its softbricked its currently just booting to the Samsung screen (no triangle) and just stays like that.
Before this happened i was running Bam Andriod Jelly bean and wanted to update to Bam Andriod 2.0 (KitKat).
So i followed a video that showed how to install a "safe" CWM to enable me to install KitKat Custom rom from RootGalaxyNote
Once i re re-booted into the new CWM 3.0.4.5 i did a full factory wipe and then proceed to install the Bam Andriod 2.0, Installation went fine.
I restarted the phone......and thats went i started getting the loop.
I cant access the recovery now (vol up + power + Home bttn doesnt work) but i can access the download screen (vol down + power + Home bttn).
I would like to try and get the phone up and running before Christmas so all help will be appreciated peeps.
Step by step instructions would be even more appreciated.
Thanks.
I don't know how to flash bam ROM 2 safely but I'll tell you how to get out from the boot loop safely.
Using pc Odin you can flash stock firmware through the download mode ... mainly gingerbread to avoid the brick bug and root it and start allover again from there.
Use the instructions and software provided by Drketan on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997
