I tried, but no reaction :/
Edit: in the settings -> headset -> double/triple press. I check it and it works thx
Is there an alternate method to long press to skip? I don't like to press 2 or 3 times for skip or previous track

I'm trying to use this app but I get no reaction from using the buttons on the headset. Also tried with keydebug and I get no response. Is it because of the rom? I'm using CM 10.1.6

How does your power key performs? I mean mine responds only when hard pressed or pressed by the right side part of it.
I asked this because all my LG devices have these pretty hard to press hardware keys in contrast to my SE devices.
Comes on at any sign of a click, can do far left, far right etc. Button itself is perfect.
How old is your phone? Worn out over time a possibility ?
there's a mod that lets you wake via volume buttons if you're into that.

can u tell me what mod. u mean exactly? any instructions?
Use widgetlocker and in use easy-wake mode. It lets you wake up the phone with any hardware button.

Or in case you're using CM or MIUI, theres an option to enable that in the settings menu.

You're using the NOVA rom right?
Hi, for me G button works perfect with Zeus v3 Rom, just like Power Button. Even showing Boot menu from Zeus. I just copied line from twl4030_pwrbutton.kl file to twl4030_Keypad.kl. Now phone works as it should be. No more stretching fingers
Hi, I did also the change in the twl4030_Keypad.kl file and it works, but not completely. I mean it only works in the next second after the screen has gone blank. If I close the screen from power button or G button and I press the G button after more than 1 second, nothing happens.
Maybe there is something hardware that is disconnected when the phone is in sleep mode and it is only connected by the power button.
PS: I also have Zeus V3(N - international).
Dan
I've checked that, and for me G button works fine, but not when I turn off phone completly.
Now after turning of phone button works exactly as you described , weird because it worked for me for three days, and i restarted phone several times.
Hmm I charged battery to more than 20% and it works again.Maybe something is disabled when battery running out ?
Just found that this discussion has a longer thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1194058. Maybe the moderators can unify these threads ?

After a year of use, the unlock button is dead, I've been using Smart screen on for now, but I want to know if I can remap the useless G button to unlock or turn on/off the phone
I also tried opening it to clean it, but the screws are too tight
I'm on Cyanogenmod 10 btw

Just remap the G-button like it's writen in this forum already a hundred times, especially if your on CM10 and don't have the 2.3.4s deep sleep problem.

Deep sleep problem? I haven't heard of that before, how can I know if I have that bug?

If you're not on gingerbread, then you don't have this bug. This bug doesn't allow waking up the phone after a few minutes of deep sleep by G button.
But the g buttons for waking the phone works well in CM10/ICS. (of coure you have to remap it)
How do I do it? The instructions say I have to modify a file, but it's not where it's supposed to be
try one thing
i had this with cm10 and v30b
flash zeus and it will be fine
it's deep sleep
If you are using Cm10 go in settings and set a volume rockers wake.Nothing else, just settings.

My volume down button stopped working on my phone at one point, and it had nothing to do with the ROM - it was broken in stock, it was broken trying to start recovery, etc. It could be just bad buttons.
If you have Minimoto installed in a ROM slot in Safestrap, you could try restoring the stock ROM and see if the volume buttons work there.

I have no clue. All I know is that my volume button stopped working in all ROMs, so I assumed that it was a physical problem with the button rather than a software problem with the ROM I was running. I've read other Droid 3 owners complaining about broken volume buttons, so it seems to be a common problem.
Sorry.
There are apps that have volume controls that will work (they do for me). I use an app called "Quick Settings" that allows you control over lots of volumes.

It is an app, so, no, it does not. But search the play store - maybe there is something.
I noticed that the home button doesn't react as fast as the bback button and was wondering if there was some sort of fix?
Thank you

It has a delay because it performs multiple functions: home, recent apps, gnow, search, so it waits for some time to detect any other input except home..
