Correct me if this is a repost but i found a nice black usb dock for the nexus 7
Not sure why it wont let me post link but go to DEALEXTREME and type in USB Data / Charging Dock Station for Google Nexus 7 - Black
-thanks
I have typed the USB Data / Charging Dock Station for Google Nexus 7 - Black at Dealextreme and found there are two SKU.
http://dx.com/s/USB+Data+++Charging+Dock+Station+for+Google+Nexus+7+-+Black
Do you mean these two items?
Those are using micro USB so it isn't a pogo dock. Im sure they would work though.

There's a leak about a supposed Asus pogo dock that's coming out in Japan, but I haven't seen much else besides the photos and other blogs spreading the same story.

Hello and greetings from Poland.
I'm new owner of Streak 7 - birthday's gift. I saw on few sites, that in specification it has hdmi output. Strange, because I didn't see any.
If so, is there a possibility to buy docking station, like for Streak 5, that would have a possibility to connect my S7 to hdmi display?
Thank you for information.
Yes, there is.

Is it possible to connect a USB keyboard/mouse on the docking station?
No. You need to go BT.

Maybe there is someone who would like to send dock station and ship to Poland?
Dock info. Dell is no longer selling Docks. I found out the hardway and got lucky. Ordered streak 7 on black friday and got it a week ago. Ordered dock same day and got it 3 days later. The dock that came (i didn't know until i got streak) is for the streak 5.. doesn't fit my streak 7. so i was about to return the item then the people at dell told me there is no docks available at all.
So i dissassembled the streak 5 dock and tried the main board on my streak 7 and it docked. charged and hdmi'd out just fine.
So if you can find a streak 5.. you can grind or use a pair of dikes to cut the ends off so you can fit the streak 7 in the tray and it will work just fine.
As for USB keyboard. I found out today from another site that i don't have handy that the Streak 7 supports USB Host mode. So if you can get a mini usb to female usb plug to plug into the dock you should be able to use standard usb keyboard with streak 7.
Good luck.
Will be posting my mods and pics soon.
Hi mobilemedic,
I own a Streak 7 and the (wrong) home dock for the streak 5, so it doesn't fit And I can't get the right home dock for the streak 7 anywhere here in germany.
I would highly appreciate if you could give me some advise how you modded it so I can use it with my 7, too. Thanks!
i ordered my dock off of Staples websight came with both streak 5 and 7 back plates got it the next day shiped to the store about $60 usd
Is there such a thing? I was given an iPhone dock/stereo as a present a while back but no longer use my touch, I still use the dock a lot though via AUX out to laptop/ phone/Nex7 but was wondering if anyone knows of a converter so I can make use of the dock as a place to keep my phone/ Nex 7 to charge (obviously not expecting it to work as a player, just to charge). A device that has a male micro USB one of side with a female iPhone port on the other.
Cheers.

Never seen that type. They make micro usb -> iPhone adapters, but I have never seen the reverse. Somebody out there must make something though. I'd try a google or ebay search.
Hello, if I understand correctly, it is that, but I still can not post the link, did a google search with "dockBossplus"
Yeah that's the sort of thing I'm thinking, I as hoping for more of a one unit device, ie, without an cable so it would more or less sit on the dock as an iDevice would.

So I found this on amazon, and though I don't need the VGA. I'm actually thinking of a car audio solution and using this as a single cable for charging and audio. Has anyone tried them? Instead of waiting for an official dock which I assume is essentially doing the same thing.

Would like to know if this adapter can drive audio and video from the N7 micro-USB port.
The Nexus 7 doesn't support mhl. This won't work.
I actually bought a MHL-HDMI this afternoon to give it a shot. Turned out Google Nexus 7 doesn't support MHL. Lmao for not searching before buying. Got it returned right away. Hahaha

today i tried again with another TV and suddenly it wasn't work! it only charge my device and even the message "HDMI connected" didn't appear
what should i do? is there any certain setting?
1. Buy one made by Samsung.
2. Return the cheap Chinese one you have.
Sent from my SGH-T999
actually the one that i bought was original one from samsung
i don't know if it's fake or not because i got it pretty cheap, around 18$
Link to where you got it?

Are you sure its 11pin not 5pin?
When that happens with my Note 1, I power cycle it and its adapter starts working again.
How can you tell if is 11 pin?
My old mhl still works on note one, htc sensation and skyrocket doesn't work on note2

Look at the MHL micro usb connector. You will see a 2 step connector. 6 pins on the lower step, 5 pins on the inside step. You can also look at the Note 2 micro usb plug and you can see the 2 step connector pins.
Lol it was fake

Did you get a Samsung one?

Is your Samsung MHL adapter like this...
Mine cuts in and out (both video and audio), and wiggling the entire set of attachments seems to bring it back. I've replaced the hdmi cable and power adapter / cable to no avail. Also, the power plug into on the MHL adapter seems very loose at the pin connection. But even with the charge indicator on, the video/audio signal cuts in and out randomly.

That's because the iPad charger doesn't have the data pins shorted out to enable fastcharge . Easiest way to accomplish fastcharge with your charger, is to buy a charging cable (data pins shorted out, so it is not a data cable:
http://dx.com/p/usb-male-to-lengthe...for-samsung-i9500-9300-htc-white-100cm-207353
It even has the lengthened micro usb connector the Nexus 7 needs.
Or maybe better, buy this one, found in another thread here on XDA, this one is confirmed to work in fastcharge mode with any usb charger:
http://www.monoprice.com/products/p...=10303&cs_id=1030307&p_id=5457&seq=1&format=2
Good luck!

Yes I know, and that's the reason the iPad charger won't work on fastcharge.
You need to either shortout the data pins of the iPad charger, or use a charger cable with shorted data pins ( a so called charge-only micro usb cable) to make the iPad charger use full capacity (fastcharge mode). There are also cable adaptors for sale that will shortout the data pins for you.

Yep, that one works because it follows the USB standard rules, and not the Apple USB standard.
No iDevice (iPhone/iPad) charger will fastcharge an android phone or tablet without modifying the datapins or use a charge-only cable / adaptor.
The Blackberry Playbook charger is known to work
Get an HP touchpad charger if you can. I can provide empirical evidence that it will actually charge your n7 20 minutes faster than the stock charger. I posted a thread about it here some time ago. "Best aftermarket charger ..." Or something like that.
Plus, my HP touchpad charger hasn't failed to work with whatever device I've plugged into it - idevice or android.

I will suggest the HP touchpad charger for use with the N7... they work great and produce no noticeable heat when not connected... shows good efficiency.:good:
Check Ebay -= just did a quick search and got 131 hits anywhere from 8-20 USD. I"ve bought 2... one is firmly set to be my preferred travel charger for any USB device.
+1 Re: HP Touchpad charger
Someone did a in depth look at factory and aftermarket chargers and it came out way better in terms of current provided and cleanliness of power without spikes or dropouts.

Do I still need a aftermarket cable w/ the data pins shorted out? Or will this all in one package: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-HP-North-American-Power-Charger-FB341AA-AB-for-TouchPad-Cable-/251250614212?ssPageName=STRK:MESE:IT Do the trick?

That will do the trick - but you don't need another cable if you already have one.
I went with the charger without cable option and got 2 chargers for less than that price. Just have eBay sort the search results by price+shipping and optionally USA sellers only to find a better price without waiting for a slow boat from China.

Will using chargers not putting out the proper amperage cause any hard ware issues? Just curious.
Thanks

If the charger puts out less than the tablet needs then it will just charge slower (or not at all if it's really low) and if it puts out more than the maximum the tablet uses the extra will just go unused. Voltage is a different issue.

Having your device plugged into a USB 2 500mA computer port obviously charges slower then a 2000mA wall charger. It would be pretty faulty design if plugging your device into your computer would cause hardware damage.
Man, this really sucks, the Monoprice cable mentioned earlier in this thread is having the same issue I had with another micro USB cable, it doesn't seem to fit into the Nexus 7 snugly, it doesn't seem to go in all the way. (I hope I don't have a busted charging port), It doesn't seem to charge it at all, even with the stock Nexus AC adapter. I'm about to break down and buy the official Google charger again, even if all I need is a new micro USB cable.
I'm using 2 different monoprice cables, one in my car and one at home, and both fit well. Sounds like the port has gotten damaged.

So, I just decided to buy a whole new charger off Amazon. If that won't work and I determine that the micro USB port is busted, I'm not going to be very happy, haha. does anyone know if Google repairs them for a fee?
I use a Playstation Vita charger which seems to charge my N7 very fast. On the other hand, I've tried an old mobile charger also and the battery level goes down whilst plugged into it.
If under warranty and purchased from the PlayStore, yes, otherwise, if under warranty, ASUS.
