when I install that rom from clockworkmod recovery 3.0.0.5 I'm getting this error listed below
"Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported.
Amend scripting was deprecated by Google in Android 1.5.
It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the ClockworkMod 3.0 Gingerbread based recovery.
Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages."
I've got the same thing and i don't no what to do
Would this method (for samsung galaxy Y, which is, if I understand correctly, identical to the S5830I) work to get Droidwall/Iptables to function correctly? (or if there are easier alternatives)
If not, is there any way to get it to work?
Thanks a lot
I agree with the question, as we work to us to Droidwall device??
sorry for my English.

Sorry, forgot to include the link to the Galaxy Y method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1626406
Hey guys,
Since no one seems to know, I just decided to test it and let you all know the result ^^
I downloaded mikstev_add_initd_to_boot.img__kernel_modules_initd_scripts_for_droidwall_v2.zip from that thread and copied modules_droidwall_signed.zip inside of it to the SD card. I then rebooted in recovery mode, applied CWM and installed modules_droidwall_signed.zip using it.
Droidwall still gives an error ("Error applying iptables rules. Exit code:11 iptables v1.4.10 iptables: No chain/target/ match by that name").
So slight update to the original question: is there any way to get droidwall to work?

Rafael.Baugis, here's what I did:
1- Unrooted my phone and rebooted.
2- Downloaded both attachments here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24264713&postcount=2
3- Copied both zips to SD Card. Turned off phone.
4- Rebooted in recovery mode (Home+Power+Volume Up)
5- Using CWR, installed 20120710-2146-CWM-boot.img-modules.zip, then modules_droidwall_signed.zip and rebooted.
6- Ran Droidwall and tried to enable firewalls. Got the same error (for pic, see post#7)
Anything I'm doing wrong?
Wipe dalvik cache and cache partition, then flash the module. Works fine for me

Same result.
EDIT: Nevermind. Wasn't wiping dalvik cache. Bricked my phone, probably did something wrong, will try again after recovery.
retribution rom use su binaries in folder /system/xbin --- need remove complet su su-v1 su-v2 su-v3 etc...
delete all files in folder /system/xbin and reboot to CWM.
aply kernel package and reboot to CWM.
aply the droidwall modules and reboot.
check if root is working and try droidwall rules.
After flashing original PDA using Odin, I installed your custom kernel using CWM, rebooted, rebooted into CWM again, installed the module and... wait for it... IT WORKS!
Thanks a lot, all of you!

You can just need to use ClockworkRecovery wipe dalavik data (in advanced) after it has been flashed.

When I apply update from sdcard with ClockworkRecovery for the file 20120710-2146-CWM-boot.img-modules.zip the system gives me an error (E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip (Status 2) Installation aborted).
Somebody knows why happens this error?

Hi. I'm posting some really useful and easy scripts for installing (almost) anything.
All my scripts are clean, commented and easy to use/edit.
I want to encourage development, and also make everything easier. No more waiting for someone to post kernels/modems/recoveries in a CWM installer. Now anyone can cook ROMs.
My Install ROM script is more designed to starters, so they can be more encouraged to learn more and more.
ROM SCRIPT

- This zip is designed for installing the ROMs you cook. This is how you can use it:
1. Get your /system folder from your phone or extracting your firmware from system.img from original tar.md5 file or any ROM
2. Extract the zip and merge with your firmware
3. Make your changes, edit anything you want.
4. Use the data folder at the zip to install anything you want at /data. Example: installing apps to /data/app.
5. Get your kernel [boot.img] and modem [modem.bin] and put together with META-INF folder [not inside]
6. Check if you need to change anything on update-script. Examples: ext4 tweaks/extra symlink/extra permission/
7. Zip META-INF | data | system | boot.img | modem.bin
8. Done!! You can just install it on CWM.
Important!!
- Zip already includes root [busybox+Superuser]
- Don't delete system/etc/init.d folder. If you do, remove init.d set permission line from update-script.
KERNEL, MODEM AND RECOVERY SCRIPTS

- No secret.
1. Get your file (boot.img [kernel] or modem.bin [modem] or recovery.img [recovery]
2. Download the correct script.
3. Drag and drop your file to the zip.
4. Done!! Install on CWM.
ROOTING SCRIPT

Click to collapse
- No secret at all... After installing a custom recovery with Odin3, install this script and it will root your phone with Busybox and Superuser [3.2 app and binary]
