sgh-t679 to em looks like a exhibit but claro puerto rico name it galaxy w
i install cwm the same way as in exhibit but im afraid to flash a rom till im sure it wont brick it

If it says 679 then it is likely to be exhibit varient. If it says i8150 then it is more likely galaxy w varient. Go to setting and then about phone.

rigth what worries me its the system seein that exhibit is from t mobile and t mobiles use other bands
examples
here in pr claro pr and att can switch phones without no problems but if i plug a tmobile sim card into a att or claro phones the internet got stuck at edge (problems with the bands ) the question will be will a rom from the exhibit contains things from tmobile ?
should i just flash 679 roms ?
i hate when carrier puts their own names to handsets
thanx for the reply
this is what my about phone have
model number sgh-t679
android version 2.3.6
baseband vers.
t679walg2
kernel
2.6.35.7-perf-t679walg2-cl1169838
buid
gingerbread.walg2
what ya think should i man up and flash the exhibits roms?
Make backup first if you ever decide to flash custom rom. that way you can go back where you were.
Do not flash tmobile stock or stock rooted or peach if you are worried about baseband as these will replace your current baseband with t-mobile one. So you will have to stay with cm9/10 related group of rom.
We have people from Canada flashing roms here just fine. I guess you may be the first one from pr. So decide if you want to take the risk.

I looked around google but havent found a definitive answer. If you do flash post back and let us know how its working.

It sure looks to be the same phone. Even our wiki speaks of a galaxy w.
gonna flash cm9 just to b sure thanxs
letting yall know in a couple of minutes
Dont forget the nandroid
*looks at watch
There has been a little confusion, so allow me to clear it up once again SGH-T679M is marketed in Canada as the Samsung Galaxy W 4G by Bell Mobility. With the exception of the M in it's model number, it is precisely the same as T-Mobile's Samsung Galaxy Exhibit 4G and it's former Samsung Exhibit II 4G monikor. It seems apparent that your carrier is doing the same thing. In other words, you're in the proper forum as long as your About Phone says T679 - stay away from the I8150 forum if you don't want to brick your phone (Well, you can go ahead and read - just don't flash anything from there)
ok so cm9 works like a charm
wonder if the others roms will to. i like the status bar toggles
If one works chances are the rest will as well

thank u all for the comments im using cm9 and its working great planning on doing another nandroid and flash rebelrom i just hope my data wont stay in edge

Samsung Galaxy s3 4g (GT-I9305T)

hey all, just wondering if the GT-I9305 and the GT-I9305T are the same or not, and whether the GT-I9305 stock firmware is transferable over to the GT-I9305T.
Do you mean the Telstra GSIII LTE?
Do you mean the Telstra GSIII LTE?
If yes, then try asking Telstra, though probably they won't give an answer.
I believe they might not be compatible because Telstra has history of modifying models,
both hardware and software, which compromised the phone experience under other carriers.
And assume they are compatible, then why it is named I9305T instead of I9305?
Obviously making one model is easier than making an I9305 and another version with a "T".
So, I guess you probably should not try the firmware for another version of the GSIII LTE until you get a CLEAR answer
Good Luck!

As far as I know they are exactly the same aside from slight software differences. I've got a GT-I9305 bought from Kogan which is a Hong Kong version. In stock form it worked on the Telstra network but the signal strength was not all that great and it use to drop of the network on odd occasion which required a restart in some case to reconnect. I got a bit tired of it so I flashed it with the official Telstra ROM last Friday. So far everything is running great, signal strength is as expected and it did not drop of the network at all since the re-flash.
All I can say now my phone is now a GT-I9305T and it works as it should :good:
awesome, thats great to know.
i was also doing some searching on the internet earlier today and realized that my s3 ( GT-I9305T) was only running the 4.1.1 version of android and that the GT-I9300 was updatable to 4.1.2, i then went on to check for an update which came back unsuccessful saying that i had the latest version of firmware, i understand that they are releasing it model by model but does anyone have any idea on whether the GT-I9305T will get the update? and also any estimate on when?

Have you tried this search?
https://www.google.de/search?hl=de&...0...1.1j2.64.psy-ab..0.2.341....0.hub_oipjIe0
I guess you will find help in one of the search results
First of all download Samsung USB Drivers: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1I3ilHBfl1lSvkqQwHZTEOE6usggQqQGb
Download TWRP for GT-I9305T: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1kmpXSVGdd_XR2WojWqAe8rd_Xm7gZ8Lj (its an old version of twrp but it should work)
After downloading twrp download Odin3: https://drive.google.com/open?id=10CLH6TqF6PLiqnMnjqY5IgsfU5KjX-F-
Extract it od desktop
Now power off your s3 and boot into download mode holding Power Button + Volume Down + Home Button
You will see that screen turned on and press Volume up to continue into Download mode
Connect your s3 into your pc via usb cable. Open Odin3 and you will see on the left side message that says Added!!
Now click od the AP button and select twrp that you downloaded
Go to options tab and make sure that Re-Partition is unticked, Auto-Reboot and F. Reset Time keep ticked
Finally click Start button and the twrp should flash, you will see green text saying PASS!
After flashing twrp the phone should automatically reboot, download SuperSU: https://s3-us-west-2.amazonaws.com/supersu/download/zip/SuperSU-v2.82-201705271822.zip
Turn off the phone again and hold Power Button + Volume Up + Home Button and it should boot into twrp, swipe to allow system modifications, and select install and find the supersu.zip file, select it and swipe to confirm flash.
After reboot your s3 should be rooted. You will have SuperSU app in the menu.

You'll have to find a modem that supports 900 band (I think JK4 does but dunno how it works in India).
modem sticky in cap dev forum may be helpful - lots of replies in thread about what works and where.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1227717
After some searches through the forum I found a modem suitable for India is DDJV5. But it is for i1900. So I need a i1900 kernel for DDJV5 modem. So my question is can I flash any i1900 over my i897 ? Or is there any suitable i1900 kernel for i897?
Thanks

Since you are runnin Slim Bean, you need to get your modem from here...http://soggycashew.weebly.com/cm7miui--ics-modems.html. The modems in that link are compatible for jellybean also.
That is all you need to do. No need to flash a kernel, etc.

Tried it. But no luck. The modems are for i1900. I heard that i1900 modem only work with i1900 kernel. So i am looking for a i1900 rom which suitable for i897. Only kk4 is give signal and it is less 15 to 20 db compared to other samsung phones.

di you read the whole thread? after gb, with ics, cappys ran 9000 modems okay, not just Cappy modems.
Now i got some signals with kv2 and kk4 basebands. But during call voice quality is low and caller in opposite side hear eco of his own voice. Also flashed ddjv5 baseband but no network . During network search only airtel and docomo (both 1900 band) is shown

three ideas-
check call settings for reject or forward all calls setting. also, check with at&t or your carrier.
are you using bluetooth headset? I've noticed that the dialer in 0327 build doesn't always recognize when the bluetooth headset is available. I have to change the setting to Bluetooth after dialing.
clear caches, then reflash the rom.

Cannot make outgoing calls, cannot receive incoming calls

As the title states, I cannot make any calls neither can I receive calls. When making calls, "call ended" appears instantly after pressing the call button. Sms are fine. I have tried changing my baseband from Australia firmware to Singapore firmware to no avail. Here are some of the details:
Carrier: Singapore starhub
Rom: venom note v1.4
Kernel: skyhigh
Baseband: AOJ3
Please let me know if any other information is needed!

Sounds like you might have firmware mismatch. But only guessing because you haven't provided a great deal.
Please post your Synapse INFO page (no serial number).
I would also suggest for you to update your base firmware to the LATEST (via Odin) to ensure you have matching ROM, bootloader, modem and kernel working together. Once your up and running, then try experiment with ROM if you must
Thanks for your advice! My phone just magically started functioning this afternoon and I have no idea why. And unfortunately I cannot post my info page due to the 10 posts restriction : (

Could have been just a provider issue too.
Very possible indeed. However I just cannot understand how other services like sms are working.
Well i just figured out why: i am not supposed to select lte only in system settings, instead gsm/wcda/lte should be selected. Kind of weird since the default setting is lte only
