Hmm that is true, although I don't think many people read them. Was just looking at your attached screenshot about "screenshotting" and people still don't know that they can do that..... if only Google included a manual on Flashing ROM, Kernels, Recovery 101 it would make XDA a better place for less questions that are repeated everyday
Good information nevertheless

Agree 100%. Unfortunately mobile vendors doesn't want people (in general, not qualified) knows how to "play" with their devices because they should receive a lot of unexpected problems in their call/repair centres. So official manuals are always focused to basic concepts.

Are there any manuals in the OP, or is it all just a bunch of Quick Start Guides? If it is the latter, the thread title should be changed.

As you can read in the OP there are links to Manuals & Start Guides.
LG has replaced these manuals with date 10/01/2013 (file date 12/12/2012):
Code:
GOOGLE_OPEN_16G(UNITED STATES)
GOOGLE_OPEN_8G(UNITED STATES)
They just deleted all references to USB OTG support in these new versions, as Google did with on-line manual before:
Left: Nexus-4-Guidebook-112012.pdf / Right: Nexus-4-Guidebook-121212.pdf
Two notes about this:
- both manuals are numbered with same revision number; 1.2. That's, obviously, deliberate.
- TMOBILE(USA) manual remains untouched (but not for long, I guess).

No download is available from that post.
BTW:Google can't translate the post into English correctly coz it's not written in formal Chinese.

the above link to firmware wont download a firmware.
its an exe file from a site called mobilecunsultants.ru ..its protected. i tried to run the exe its all in russian ..they ask for a genuine unique id to download it.
extra stuff (guess from the setup log) the site will give repair manual , firmware , and many other extra stuff in pdf format.
anyone from that area can give us more details
i checked various countries viewsonic sites (asian/pacific) but no one had listed viewpad 4, atlast i visited indian site which has showcased it, then i visited support & soft. update page but no stuff related to viewpad 4 was present there >> u can check yourself :'(
ap.viewsonic.com/in/downloads/
so finally i mailed cust. support regarding latest soft. d/l & kernel source, now waiting for reply
'll report back to you guys ASA i'll get any feedback
one thing for sure, they hv android 2.4 for viewpad 4, question now whether they hv released it or not, they hv demonstrated it once! android 2.4 is still gingerbread, for single qore phone with dual core capabilities, means it can run honeycomb apps without problem
Sent from my SH8188U using xda premium
theres nothing like 2.4
one thing is sure they have pre-installed spb shell 3d as default launcher.. (i highly doubt viewpad 4 is launched in market)
olive v-s300 is also going to gingerbread on launch, we also have a option for that...(but it might never release in market)
-Deleted---
msg from chrillefr - Zip contains .exe file for online update. Device is GSM only.
I have search it when I post sharp ROM.
they have gingerbread for Viewpaq4.
but it is updated by OTA update.
What happened to Android 2.4 Gingerbread? It's 2.3.3 instead

Hey guys i bought the international lG P880 and i am currently using it with simple mobile, the problem is that it hasn't been updated since i bought it not even one single update has been available it is stuck with V10E OCT 16 2012. I read a lot of you are doing it manually with the kdz up to V10H but for compatibility issues i would rather get it from FOTA i keep checking and checking but it says it is using the latest OS also my language is set to "English(United Kingdom)" because this phone was not suppossed to be released for USA I assume.

All those parameters are the same like in Eurpen.
What makes me thing that you can upgrade using KDZ...
In euro_open you have EN-US or EN-UK
And if you find yourself with some issue, you can always go back to your official version...
Does Euro_open firmware support Simplified Chinese keyboard and input? I also bought my internationl LG P880 through Amazon, but I got the SEA version. It comes with SEA popular languages support such as Traditional/Simplified Chinese, Malays, Thai etc. It's still on 10E firmware. It still remains stock and un-root. I am patiently waiting for LG to release the 10H firmware through OTA.

Use the app "local select" nobody should worry about the supported languages with that. also my phone does have chinese at the bottom of the language selection.
does anyone know what place this phone belongs to or locale?

I'm currently new to all these rooting stuff. I check everywhere online but I couldnt find how to root my Sony Xperia Z
Model: C6606
Android Version: 4.2.2
Build Number: 10.3.1.E.0.191
Can anyone figure this out? I want to root my device to map controller for games.
If anything I'll downgrade if it's not available
Try Root many Android.
Method 0 (cubeundcube method) should work for you.

LOL. What a rude individual you are.
Protip - When asking for assistance, good manners are a must. You can apply that both here and in your daily life.
1. See post #26 of this thread.
You will see that it successfully roots the firmware that you have. You will also see from the first post of the thread that the exploit was created by cubeundcube.
2. The tool I originally linked to contains the same exploit by cubeundcube, without the need to manually set the path to adb for it to work. I specifically linked the easier to use tool, as if you're unable to find these things by yourself with a Google search, you obviously need the simplest method possible.
So, to sum up, if I say it WILL work, you will try it? I said "should" because I own an international unbranded, unlocked Z (C6603), not a crippled carrier branded variant, so I cannot say 100% that it will work.
Try it if you want. If not, good luck with your unrooted phone.
In future, if I see any more requests for help from you, I'll be sure to stay clear, lest I do not meet your exacting standards.
Cheers.

we dont need anymore stupid questions in the general question.
and plus you can easily search for a thread and i guarantee if you have a fully functioning brain you can find it within 30 seconds.
"Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting
For all your questions about the Xperia Z"
QUESTIONS GO IN THAT SECTION FFS
If you have a 6606, then you are in North America, (Canada / US). Please check if your bootloader status is locked or not. You probably need to unlock your bootloader first from your wireless provider first.
And I agree with the others, you're rude, brash, you disregard advice and need to search/check b4 posting.......
Dead Cookies leave no trails...
@spazzy1912
He posted there as well, I just saw this one first. Instead of just telling him to post in the correct place, I thought I would be nice and give him what he wanted.
I won't make that mistake again.
@Cookie Ninja
The C6606 bootloader is permanently locked. There is no way to unlock it and neither Sony or T-Mobile will help.
Sony will blame T-Mobile for requesting that their branded variant has a non-unlockable bootloader and T-Mobile don't have the means to change it.

Before I get whacked by the Please Search brigade, I will say I did search within the Original Development and Development sections and there was no thread. I didn't come across it in Troubleshooting and General, but having read this sticky thread I felt that based on this guidance the Original Development section was the most appropriate place for a thread to announce the first Lollipop firmware from Samsung - it's pretty significant as far as original development goes, right?
So to the real question, how have people found this firmware? Questions have been raised about wifi stability - any more anecdotes from those who have installed?

I thought the Original development meant about stuff you have developed from scratch or contributed heavily to development? Development, i.e. coding, modifying, building from sources and maintaining ROMs, etc. Posting about firmware released somewhere in 'net doesn't fall in that category. This is better for that: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-active/general
@NZStevenC
This is not Original Development as explained by spegelius. General section had two threads up and running at least a day before. Here's one of them http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=59181748
The other is run by person who doesn't have GT-I9295 and try to profit on his download site.
You can ask Admin for help with your thread.

I was really hoping this would help the "no sound on voice calls" that I've had with my 9295 but no luck so far.
Everything else works fine...
I've had a couple of users with this fault. No sound on speaker or earpiece, only through bluetooth. It needs to be sent in on warranty, I believe it's a hardware fault of some sort.
