Thanks man! will this be visible from britain?
Looks like this could be a hoax:
Around August 27 – the day of the hoax – Mars will be near the planet Venus on our sky’s dome. Venus is the sky’s brightest planet and the third-brightest object in the sky, after the sun and moon. In August 2010, you can use Venus to guide your eye to Mars.

Original Android has a shot.
good day.
My friend told me about that, and first thing I though was "BS". If it was so close it would be comparable to the size of a full moon, then that can't be safe. Mars is about twice the size of the moon, that means it would have to be twice as far from the earth as the moon (about 700,000 km) at perigee which is not far considering space, and mars is about 55 MILLION km from eart so then it would have to travel about 52 million km and be in the exact position to be compared to a full moon. Yes, you can call me a geek, and yes, I did these calculations in my head (but I think anyone can, it's not hard)
I'm sure it has been posted already on another phone forum, but figured I would share in case some of you are not aware of this.
Brilliant game. Been waiting ages for this to land on Android.
I am so glad I took the time to get the Amazon appstore working despite being UK based. I've scored some absolutely blinding free apps through it.
OMFG this game is DRUG!! Do not play! Do yourself and your family a favor and do not start playing this game, I stood yesterday night from 9:30 to almost 3 in the morning without noticing how time flew by, Jesus!
The most addicting game I have ever played, I could travel by train a week long and wouldn't get bored, all I need is my charger.
Got it on on android....
I cant get this to work on my Nexus S
I have MIUI right now. I'm about to install 1.6.3 to see if it makes any diff.
Well, It seems that Google scheduled an event for the 24th of July. Sundar Pichai, the Android an Chrome lead will be hosting it, so I'll give you a few guesses as to what it's about.

The Nexus 7 seems fairly likely and 4.3 is bound to hit at some point (especially given the leak of the Google Play Edition ROM). I'm just hoping this isn't another example of what they did at Google I/O (announcing the new Maps for Android 2 months before actual release) and with the Google Play Edition phones (saying they will come on June 27 only for that to be the pre-order date). I just don't want to wait excitedly for next Wednesday only for them to mention that the Nexus 7 will be on the Play Store in 3 weeks and Android 4.3 will be released on that day.

Moto X, Google TV, Android 4.3, Nexus 7 2, and maybe so more stuff on Chrome's future.

I doubt Moto X will be mentioned. Motorola is its own division and Pichai doesn't really have anything to do with it. Guy Kawasaki had the recent intimate event with the press that Leo Laporte, Robert Scoble, etc. were invited to. However, Kawasaki actually serves as an advisor to Motorola, so that makes sense. The leaked videos of Moto X show something close to stock, but it's still skinned; unless a Google Play Experience version is released, I wouldn't expect it to come up at all.
A few days ago www.wired.com and www.mobilephonereviewsuk.com both reported that there was likely to be a fairly sizeable update coming for the N5 today.
So I thought I would start a thread for this.

Apparently Google Now will get even smarter than it currently is, with the voice-based assistant getting some sort of answering back features. Furthermore, Google Now will be able to search apps and launch them to perform tasks and show more Google Now cards based on the user’s location:
But the stuff Google says is coming November 13 is the real gravy, and it’s a shame it isn’t already ladled on. One of those things is the ability to ask you questions — so you might say “text Jennifer” and it will reply “which Jennifer,” and then ask you to dictate the message. It’s also going to get the ability to search inside applications, and launch them to complete tasks for you. So, you might search for a restaurant, and an option in the results shows up for OpenTable, which you’ll be able to fire up and make a reservation. It’s also going to use location cues to drop cards into Google Now, even more so than it does currently. At Yellowstone it will show you geyser times, for example. Sadly, none of this stuff was lit up yet, so I wasn’t able to test it. I’m not dinging the phone for that (and it’s not getting any extra credit), but given how interesting these features are, it’s kind of crazy the phone launched without them.

As we have recently learned, the Nexus 5 is more about Google Search services (Google Now included) than any other Nexus before it, not that it’s a bad thing, especially for Android users looking forward to such an Android experience. However, some of those Google Search feature – essentially the new launcher – will be a Nexus 5 exclusive for now, at least officially, so it’ll be interesting to see whether these new Google Now features will be available for everyone else or not.
However, we’re certainly not surprised to hear that Google Now is getting smarter. We’ll be waiting to see Google’s announcement next week to tell you more details about this apparently imminent Google Now update.
Wired has also learned that the Nexus 5 will get a camera update that will fix existing issues with it – check out these posts for camera comparisons with the Nexus 4 and the iPhone 5S.

nothing here yet
Nothing here yet either!
I really hope that the next update will fix the current software issues too...
hmmm nothing here yet
just checked (at 11.12) and nothing
Oh boy, another rumor thread!
I will be shocked if Google fixes the camera issues this quickly. If it such an easy fix I do not understand why they would release the camera software the way it is currently.
Google just needs to by Kodak or some other company they can fix up. I am sure they can afford to purchase them and better camera's and software in phones is the future right now.
nothing
Google didn't announce a Nexus 5 update like they with the the 4, 7 & 10 yesterday. I doubt it's coming this week.

"On November 13, Felix Unger was asked to remove himself from his place of residence. That request came from his wife. Deep down, he knew she was right, but he also knew that someday, he would return to her. With nowhere else to go, he appeared at the home of his childhood friend, Oscar Madison. Sometime earlier, Madison's wife had thrown him out, requesting that he never return. Can two divorced men share an apartment without driving each other crazy?"

Maybe I am a little slow but I do not get the connection.....
Anyway, the new rumor is that Nexus 5 will be released on November 28th because Kit-Kat posted a picture of a Turkey weighing 28lbs! That is the release date and I am sticking to it!
I will be very surprised if we get an update today or even this month.
Long time user of android devices. I decided to see what I could do with 2 old tablets : a Nexus 7 and an Asus Memo Pad 7. Thanks to this forum, I've been able to resurrect one with LINEAGES, the second is on it's way.
