SGH-i9000 or GT-i9000 , are they same? - Galaxy S I9000 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My friend bought a used galaxy S, model displayed in his phone is SGH-i9000, whereas in mine is GT-i9000, I am wondering if these are same models?

Yeah, most likely same phone.
However, to be sure, go to settings->about device. There it will display the phone model.
Also, when starting the phone, it should display the model name.

GT-i9000 and SGH-i9000 are the same, but name in use is GT-i9000 or just i9000. SGH was used previously in older models which mostly didnt support android. But it can vary in other countries. But both names are applies to exactly same phone, so they are same

same look?

[Q] I9000 vs Vibrant

Okay - so I'm a little confused. I have, from what I understand (at least according to the box!), a Samsung Galaxy S Vibrant, model number GT-I9000M. What I can't decipher, is which forum I should actually be following for my phone - this one for the Galaxy S I9000, or the Samsung Vibrant.
Could someone please clarify?
Your phone is closer to the i9000 than it is to the tmo vibrant. Therefore, this is the right forum to be in.

don't ever put the USA vibrant ROM firmwares on your I9000M it will die
... as long as you have the warranty you can always send it in for repair, if you did accidentally flash USA vibrant to the I9000M.

[Q] Question about wi-fi only galaxy tab

Can I install any ROM on the wi-fi only Galaxy Tab? or do I need to use a particular ROM for it?
Wifi-only Tab (P1010) is a completely different beast from 3G (P1000 CDMA or GSM) Tabs.
It has different CPU (Texas Instruments OMAP) and other hardware and no 3G ROM will work on it. It requires different kernel and I am not even sure whether partition layout is the same. All it shares with P1000 is form factor and name.
@technomancer. Dude, im from philippines and im using a galaxy tab gt-p1000 korea. Can i change it to gingebread 2.3?

Well that really sux. So unless devs pick up the wifi model its not going to look so great in terms of rooting and development. I will hold back and see what happens first.
Being a complete noob to all of this I'm confused about the hardware differences between the wifi Tab and the phone Tabs. The PDAnet database lists the wifi with a Samsung-Intrinsity S5PC110 CPU which is apparently identical to a bunch of other Tab phones (ie. Verizon Samsung SCH-i800 Galaxy Tab 7.0, NTT DoCoMo Galaxy Tab 7.0 SC-01C). Is the database wrong, or is there something about CPU manufacturing I don't understand?
Again, I'm just askin' cause I'm completely new to all of this stuff. After one week I really love my brand new wifi Tab, but I can see how I might like to play around with it after awhile. Hopefully you guys won't have to start from scratch for wifi development?

Galaxy Note N7000 - Hardware Differences of the same model?

Hi guys,
Recently, I purchased an Unlocked Galaxy Note N7000 at J&R NYC. As there is no unlocked U.S. Model, the O.S. that came was Chinese or Korean. I checked the label behind the battery and I concluded the model was from some Asian country. Ok, after some time the screen along with the digitizer broke and I had to purchase a new one (as Samsung Brazil don't fix models from other countries not even paying for the repair).
I purchased one officially from Brazil that is also a Galaxy Note N7000.
I feel it strange though. I seems slower, the screen sometimes lags when scrolling and I don't remember this lag from my previous one.
The question is, can they have different hardware ? Both are N7000, one from China/Korean and the other from Brazil.
Thank you and best regards,
Amid
I can't say for certain, but I know there are different versions of the firmware for each region which could account for the differences you are observing, at least in part.
If they're both N7000 model than they have the same hardware ( unless one of them is a fake, which i'm sure it is not ). Any differences might be caused by firmware though. You'd have to flash the same stock or custom rom on both of them and then check.
Thank you guys. So, this also implies that the digitizer is the same for both so if I can purchase one digitizer from Samsung Brazil it will work in the other one, correct ?

[Q] Noob Here: GT-I8190

Hi,
Just bought my wife a GT-I8190 refurbished off Amazon since we use Straight Talk (AT&T towers) and it stated that it was "new" and factory unlocked. Great part was, I thought I had done my research and was getting the same phone as the T-Mobile/Verizon model. Now I know that isn't the case. The problem is that we are looking at getting a screen/back panel protector and we are given two options.
So, my question is: What the heck did I buy? Is this the international model, or is it the regular (i.e., US) model but straight from the factory?
Thanks for the help,
EMitch
Check Settings -> About phone - > Model number. If it doesn't say GT-I8190, GT-I8190 or GT-I8190L, you have a carrier-modified version of the S3 Mini.
If the model number differs from the ones I just mentioned, you should write it here.

Thanks for the reply. It does say GT-I8190.

Question rom to galaxy tab s2 SM-T815c

Before anything greetings to all I have a query I have the tablet galaxy tab s2 model sm-t815c from taiwan or china (one of the two is) I'm waiting and waiting but does not appear the update to marshmallow, is still in lollipop 5.02, I was looking for information on various websites but nothing for my model, which I wanted to know is, if I install the rom from another model i.e. galaxy tab s2 sm-t815N0 of Korea , It has marshmallow, I doubt because with Android as much as I did was to put his hand to a galaxy s2 and then never more it touches anything, would have some problem of bricks or something so? The two devices have the same hardware, processor, connectivity etc, just change the bands, the other question that arises is that the lte bands are different, my country uses lte 4 aws which have rom Korean, and the mi has it, if I change it the bw4 on my device to be activated in order to use it?
Forgiveness by ask both, not want to put the leg and meet me with a super brick.
Sorry for my english i used the traductor
