CWM can't mount /sdcard - Galaxy Tab 8.9 General

i flashed my custom rom with "update from sdcard" which is not CWM, and i stuck in logo after reboot. And then i went to recovery mode i factory reset and clear cache. Then i install CWM v5.5.0.4 (ya i was stupid i should install CWM before flashing custom rom). Now i want to flash the custom rom by using "choose zip from sdcard" which is from CWM, but it shows up E: Can't mount /sdcard/ what can i do now?? =(
any help would be appreciate :crying: :crying:

Flash the stock Rom for your device with Odin. Make sure it's the one for your device. There are a number of different tab models. You can get the stock rom from sammobile.com. you'll need to extract the .tar.md5 file out of the zip to use with Odin. Use 7-zip to extract it.

Galaxy Tab Flashing Problems :(

Greetings,
I recently got a Galaxy TAB in Malaysia with the DXJJ1 firmware. There were issues connecting to my Exchange server, so I decided to download a new firmware from www.samfirmwares.com. I chose the latest Asia Firmware and downloaded the P1 PIT file - P1_add_hidden.pit.
I have tried using Odin 1.31 and Odin 1.7 both with no success. I always get a failure on the second try with factoryfs.rfs:
<ID:0/003> Odin v.3 engine (ID:3)..
<ID:0/003> File analysis..

I've tried the DDJJ5 firmware and the latest ZHJK1 firmware, both don't work - after browsing around I'm thinking this might be a PIT file issue, but I'm not sure... now I can't use my tablet at all. Luckily it doesn't seem bricked, but I need to figure out a way to flash back either the original firmware or preferably a new firmware.
Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you.
Did you also add the modem/phone csc and pda files? You probably need to apply a full firmware then an update.
Hi, I clicked on PHONE/CSC also. Which is a full firmware that I should use? If I just click on "PDA" and update with the .tar file, it will flash but then I get a:
update media, please wait
E:Can't mount /dev/block/stl10
(invalid argument)
etc. error
:S
i dont think its the PIT file considering its the same P1 PIT
different from those EUR JJ4 and JK1 which have different PIT
my 1st logic is only flashing the PDS without repartition, but i never get the chance to do that
mine is also DXJJ1, indonesia here
if anybody manage to get through flashing, please post here, i'm desperately seeking guidance too hehe
when u try only the PDA files, did u tick the repartition?
and the pit files u use, is it the one that came with odin 1.7?
Flash with the JJ4, as it is a full flash. Use ALL the files in it and make sure you select repartition, auto reboot and reset time.
Then if you wish you can flash JK1 over that, without repartition.
ur solution works on eur firmware, r u sure that would works with asian firmware? considering ur method is to get the 1st with PIT.1 which is jj4 meanwhile all asia's firmware already PIT.1 in the 1st place

May I know if JJ5 is a full flash as well? If thats is so, I assume you could.flash JJ5 then do JK1?

You will know if it is a FULL flash as it will contain all parts, Phone, PDA, CSC, and the PIT file. The non Full contain only *.tar file...
To the best of my knowledge JJ4 was the last FULL flash...

If that is the case you do not require the full flash....
and there you go, DXJK2 is already out, to the Thread Starter, would you mind trying that one?
considering DX is the code for south east asia anyway, that would be the best suited for us
Just downloaded P1000ZUJJ4 but it does not seem to contain modem/phone csc. all there is after an unzip is a single .tar file which I assume is the pda file.
Is it not possible to update the pda file only and not touch the CSC and modem files?
Sorry if I do not make sense.
it is possible thats what JK5 on eur firmware is for
its only flashing for PDA
u can search on thread how to flash from jj4 to jk5
to my extent, jj4 is the 1st file on eur that has P1 PIT, thats why its full flash
thats why u dont need a full flash again to jk5
if its the same case here, u should try from jj1 to jk5 by just flashing PDA without ticking repartition
i still didnt dare to do it myself though
but looking on samfirmware, all asia firmware is already P1 PIT by default

If you can put your tab into download mode, then just flash your stock fw over.

[Q] Bricked after Odin flash back to stock attempt

Really need your help here guys...
Wanted to flash stock firmware back on to my i9000 on O2 UK, after its overall performance and stability had degraded over recent months. My phone was rooted and was running 2.3.6 on XXJVU I believe.
Downloaded stock firmware via samfirmware.com (can't post as actual link as I haven't posted more than 10 times) from this URL:
www .hotfile. com/dl/155165253/45ea7e1/I9000XWJVH_I9000O2UJV3_O2U.zip.html
The downloaded file I9000XWJVH_I9000O2UJV3_O2U.zip, when extracted, gave me:
SS_DL.dll
jvh_jv3_jv2.tar
When I extracted this .tar file, the following files appeared:
boot.bin
cache.rfs
factoryfs.rfs
modem.bin
param.lfs
Sbl.bin
zImage
I'd read that Sbl.bin was the bootloader, and I knew that 'modem' was another name for the PHONE element (a.k.a. 'baseband' I think?), so....
I used Odin3 v1.82 and selected .pit file 803, then selected jvh_jv3_jv2.tar for all four of BOOTLOADER, PDA, PHONE and CSC, and also checked Re-Partition, Auto Reboot and F. Reset Time.
The flash failed, with the following message in Odin:

So I read around a bit more about the LOKE problem and it getting stuck on factoryfs.rfs, and someone had managed to get around it by flashing the individual elements separately, i.e. first the .pit file, then the BOOTLOADER, then the PDA, etc, followed by updating the phone via Kies.
So I thought I'd give gave that a try. After unplugging and forcing then phone to restart Download mode, first I flashed the .pit file (803), after which the phone just switched off, but Odin said this was a success.
Then for each subseqent stage, again I selected jvh_jv3_jv2.tar each time, only this time flashed BOOTLOADER, PDA, PHONE and CSC separately.
According to Odin, this worked for BOOTLOADER. The Odin message was:
<ID:0/007> Added!!
<ID:0/007> Odin v.3 engine (ID:7)..
<ID:0/007> File analysis..

<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)

However, when the phone then auto-rebooted into Recovery mode, it spewed out this:
E:copy_dbdata_media:Can't mount /dbdata
your storage not prepared yet, please use UI menu for format and reboot actions.
Media files copy failed.
-- Deleting files...
E:failed to mount /dbdata (File exists)

-- Applying Multi-CSC...
Installing Multi-CSC

Successfully applied multi-CSC.
So, reacting to the parts in bold above, I first selected wipe data/factory reset, and got this message:
-- Wiping data...
Formatting /data...
Formatting /dbdata...
E:format_volume: rfs format failed on /dev/block/stl10
Deleting Meta Data
Formatting /cache...
Data wipe complete.
Is the bold/italic bit crucial?
I then selected wipe cache partition, and got:
-- Wiping cache...
Formatting /cache...
Cache wipe complete.
I then thought I'd better try a reboot. The phone went through the standard shining Galaxy S logo bootload animation, but then just kept repeating it. I'm presuming this is what others have referred to as their phone being stuck in a bootload loop?!
I then forced it back into Download mode, and flashed jvh_jv3_jv2.tar as the PDA, to which Odin said:
<ID:0/007> Odin v.3 engine (ID:7)..
<ID:0/007> File analysis..
<ID:0/007> SetupConnection..
<ID:0/007> Initialzation..

<ID:0/007> RES OK !!
<ID:0/007> Completed..
<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 1 / failed 0)
<ID:0/007> Removed!!
The phone then auto-rebooted into Recovery mode again, and gave me the exact same series of messages as it did after flashing the new bootloader. So, again, I did a wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache partition (same output messages as before), and then rebooted.
Phone got stuck on boot animation again, so I forced it back into Download mode, and flashed jvh_jv3_jv2.tar as the PHONE.
But I just got a similar error message from Odin as when I tried flashing all 4 elements plus the .pit file together:
<ID:0/007> Added!!

It always seems to be when Odin is trying to flash factoryfs.rfs that it fails. I have to unplug my phone when the flash has failed, and when I try to reboot, all I get is an icon with a mobile phone on the left, a PC on the right, and a dotted line running between them with an exclamation mark on an orange triangle in the middle of it. I presume this is supposed to prompt me to reconnect my phone to the PC, but until I can get the stock firmware to flash successfully, there's no point!!
I can still force the phone into Download Mode, but not into Recovery mode.
PLEASE can somebody tell me where I'm going wrong!?!
- is it a dodgy download of the firmware in the first place? If so, can anyone direct me to a reliable one that contains PDA: I9000XWJVH, PHONE: I9000BWJV2, CSC: I9000O2UJV3?
- shouldn't the PDA/PHONE/CSC files be extracted from the download as separate .tar files, and then selected individually in Odin... rather than the same .tar file being selected for each element in Odin?
- do I need to leave the .pit file and BOOTLOADER elements out of it, and just flash the PDA/PHONE/CSC?
Help!! I can't find an alternative download for the stock firmware, every other download link takes me to a page where it says 'This file is either removed due to copyright claim or is deleted by the uploader.'
Any advice/assistance you can give would be a massive help.
Thanks

any firmware you need can be found at My Android Collections under ROMS
all you need to do is flash a JVU ROM with a PIT file or use a rescue kit and your problem should be resolved
But First powerdown, pull out Battery, SIM CARD, and EXT.SD card, press power button for a minute, than powerup without SIM and Ext.SD Card....Do remember to backup your contacts, data, images etc and also your EFS folder before flashing a ROM and make sure you have more than 50% battery charge before you attempt any sort of flashing

Removed external SD card, SIM and battery, held power button down for one minute.
Replaced battery, rebooted into download mode, then flashed dbdata.rfs as mentioned. Phone rebooted fine. Looked in 'About Phone', and had PDA: I9000XWJVH and CSC: I9000O2UJV3, exactly as I wanted, but no PHONE/BASEBAND/MODEM.

Downloaded PHONE_XXJVU.tar.md5 via your link, then flashed that with 803 .pit file (repartition checked). Odin confirmed flash was successful, but then the phone's screen went black and I can't get it to reboot in recovery or download mode.
I've tried a battery pull and holding power button down for a minute, tried connecting phone to PC via USB, no life from phone and not coming up as connected in Odin. Completely dead and unresponsive!!

was your Battery fully charged or at least over 50%, when you flashed? This will only happen if bootloader failed in the starting process ...not too sure If the wrong PIT partition could cause it, anyway look at the various options for obtaining download mode in My Android Solutions and also scroll down to the solutions for unresponsive phone
Hey, you should follow this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=965190
Also try out this application: http://fus.nanzen.se/

Ok managed to flash Philz_touch and it looked like it's just a matter of choosing a rom on the sd card and installing just like CWM but all the roms fail saying something similar to......
"ApplyParsedPerms: lsetfilecon os /system/lost+found to ubject_r:system_file:s0 failed: Operation not supported on transport endpoint

E: Error in /external_sd/ROMS/nameless-5.0.2-20150318-i9305.zip

press any key to continue"
Is there anything else I can do to get a rom on this device.
Try another ROM maybe?
Cheers for any help

What version of philz are you using? You need to be using one of the latest ones Cwm 6.0.4.4 at least. I only say this because status 7 error is normally because of an outdated recovery.
