Hi Guys im a noob when it comes to rooting so your patients will be greatly appreciated.
I purchased a nexus one from online and it was "unlocked" so i can use it while im on vacation. But I want to flash a new ROM and am having trouble figuring out what i need to do. i have listed the status from hboot of the phone below and some concerns.
***UNLOCKED***
NEXUSONE PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT- 0.35.0017
RADIO- 5.12.00.08
android platform 2.3.6
I wanna know what I need to do flash a ROM on this phone with the previous stated configuration.
Does this indicate my bootloader is unlocked?
Do i need to get S off, so I can flash from the sd card?
what other apps or programs do i need to load so i can flash a new Rom?
again, thanks in advance for your help.
This has been covered dozens of times, you can find it in the wiki and/or by searching.

Hi,
I've got the Sensation XL with root and Custom ROM (see signature).
My Boot loader shows the following:
Code:
****UNLOCKED****
RUNNYMEDE PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.25.0004
RADIO-3822.10.10.12_M
Ive got some problems with broadcast,
where my friends with same provider have got full signal i've got nearly nothing sometimes.
I've read a little in a few threads about flashing radio, and there are some questions coming up.
Can i flash a newer radio?
Do i need to S-OFF the phone?
Will my ROM settings be lost?
greetings

Can i flash a newer radio? - sure yes. Read my signature.
Do i need to S-OFF the phone? - Read my signature.
Will my ROM settings be lost? - Nope.
Clean something with alcohol your sim card and the electrical contacts.
Each phone is made manually and the antenna will be just slightly shifted. This is enough to get some different results.
Okay, I am really new to all of this modding business.
I wished to install a stock android rom, simply because I preferred it over Sense.
I used the autoinstaller to install, Cyanogenmod 10.2.
Anyway, I done research and checked that you could use the EQ in the rom to sort of, replace the 'beats' audio, although simply it isn't good enough for me and I just prefer stock sense over the rom.
I didn't flash it myself, the application done it for me although there were a few hiccups.
I simply wish to unroot the phone, and lock the bootloader and just generally return it back to how it was.
I do not have any back ups, because the phone wasn't rooted before hand, the installer done this all for me.
Is there anyway I can return to the stock Sense
If it helps, I am living in Europe - England, and the phone is sim locked to EE.
Any help would be appreciated returning my phone to stock.
Thank you.

I'm pretty sure when you look for an RUU, you'll need to get one for the Europe release. Ignore the Cingular or Sprint variants.
There are plenty of guides, you can use the ones from clsA.
There are loads more:
http://android.sc/unroot-htc-one-re...roid-4-2-2-jelly-bean-firmware-using-toolkit/
For the official RUU updaters for full stock I'd use these:
http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-file-downloads/
Reboot the phone into boot loader and try to match the radio version with the RUU updater online. If you are in a lower version then it will update you. If you are on a higher version you won't be able to run it without gaining S-OFF and downgrading.
The RUU must be the same version or newer than the version you are currently running, but make sure it's the Europe version.
My S seems to already be on, so thats one step I would have to miss, although I am confused regarding which RUU I need, the data I have follows:
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT 1.54.0000
RADIO- 4A.17.3250.14
OpenDSP - v31.120.274.0617
OS - 2.24.61.1
eMMC-boot - 2040MB
-
It seems for some RUU files I need S-OFF? I am quite confused, could anyone lead me to the correct direction please

There doesn't seem to be an RUU that you could use without gaining s-off and downgrading your hboot.
I think you may have to gain s-off. Then running an RUU after downgrading. I have tried to look for one you could use right now but they all require a lower hboot version.
Take a look at this:

Hi folks, long time listener, first time caller.
I have an HTC One (M7_UL) from EE UK.
Last year I unlocked, rooted and tried a few methods from XDA (toning down the crazy vibration, etc), then wanted to go back to stock in order to easily receive the 4.2.2 update that EE were sending out OTA. I messed something up and ended up having to sideload Teamwin recovery and the European 4.2.2 (2.24.401.1) ROM in order to have a working phone again. My own stupid fault. Have had no problems with it since and just left it as is.
However, I recently realised that I wasn't gonna get any more OTA updates, and having very little time to update to different ROMS myself these days, I'd kinda like to go back to the boring, easy life of getting the OTAs (probably six to nine months late, but whatever!)
I have been searching for a while but always end up with about twenty XDA browser tabs open and end up really confused.
The two issues I need to get sorted:
1) Does anyone know if EE UK have their own specific ROM, or if it is just the General European RUU that they send out? I can't find any specific EE ROMs anywhere, months of searching.
2) I only have access to Macs, not Windows machines.
Bootloader info:
TAMPERED
UNLOCKED
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.54.0000
RADIO- 4A.17.3250.14
OpenDSP- v31.120.274.0617
OS- 2.24.61.1
eMMC- boot 2048MB
Jun 21 2013
QUESTION - Can anyone help me return to a state where I can receive OTA updates from EE UK *using a Mac*?
I would very much appreciate your input, please bear in mind I am not a n00b but neither am I particularly advanced in this stuff. So basically… I'm a n00b :silly:

Thanks for the quick response cr1960!
First issue:
"First you need to be S-Off, this will NOT work with S-On!!!"
I'm S-On as seen in my bootloader info above. I've read it's dangerous to go back to S-On from Off, so does this mean I can't use this guide, ruling out going S-Off then S-On in order to follow it?

1- you can stay S-Off, it won't affect OTA updates
2- the only reason for going S-On (in my opinion), is if you're selling the phone or sending it in for warranty
3- it's not dangerous to go S-Off to S-On (unless you're using a modded hboot), however, if you do that on hboot 1.55+ it will very likely trigger a "tamper detected - rebooting" and TAMPERED is back in the bootloader, hence the guide says to go from S-Off to S-On at a very specific time.

yep,
if you need more info, please post a "fastboot getvar all" (excluding IMEI and s/n)
So lets start out with I was using Beanstalk and really enjoyed it till my internet was malfunctioning. So I was checking out how to do a PLR update and noticed that the version I had didn't support it. So in turn I decided to look for a rom that had the Sense, so I chose the Viper rom. I went through the the CWM to load it and it wouldn't work (multiply tries.) I then tried using an older version of TWRP, I think 2.6, and it was working but then it would fail at status 7. I did some research and there were a few posts that mentioned to use the newest version. So I downloaded it, it gets as far as installing the rom and I still get the status 7 failure. So then the phone would only boot into the bootloader, so I reinstalled TWRP, it worked but wont load the rom. I reinstall the rom and I get as far as the bootloader again and need to reinstall TWRP. Now my phone is locked in the bootloader, it says at the top:
TAMPERED
RELOCKED
M7_WLS PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.44.000
OpenDSP-v26.120.274.0202
eMMC-boot
May 8 2013,16:30:08:-1
Yes I do know that when I did the previous rom it will always say tampered but I don't know why it is relocked and S-ON. It should have been unlocked and s-off. So I am not sure what I need to do. I was wondering if anyone could help. By the way I was using the One In All Kit v3.1 program off my computer to help me with all of my roms flashing.

your phone is M7_WLV variant which means its not a gsm variant (M7_UL or M7_U) so you must use recoveries and roms specifically for your phone variant, M7_WLV
bootloader doesnt lock back by itself, so you probably did by mistake, same for s-on/s-off.
learn how to use adb and fastboot and get rid of this toolkit. always better to use adb and fastboot directly from the terminal
then
unlock bootloader
flash the correct recovery for your phone variant
flash a compatible rom for your phone variant
here is the coorect forum for your phone: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-htc-one
I have a Sprint HTC One... And currently I am loading / downloading SDK and all of its components. I do appreciate in info. It seems as though that the programs that I am trying to use are older and outdated. The version of SDK that I had could have been one of the reasons why I am having issues connecting between the computer and my phone.

Hello, so recently erased my phone and planned on using the RUU file I had used in the past to start off fresh because my phone was running like a turtle. The only problem was that the RUU I had used in the past would not work anymore. It would start up and either stay at step 1/5 checking headers for like an hour or it would fail completely. I am completely confused and just want help finding the correct RUU that will get me back up and running. I've tried several different RUUs but none have worked.
I have a US T-Mobile htc one and I relocked the bootloader already.
this is what I see as of now:
*Tampered*
*Relocked*
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.61.000
Radio-4T.28.3218.04
OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
OS-6.10.531.9 (7.18.531.2)
eMMC boot 2048MB
Feb 11 2015,18:39:53.0
at the bottom it also says Hboot version is older, update fail. I was thinking this might be the problem too but idk how to fix it. I have no desire to get S-off or anything extra right now, I just need the phone to work like normal for now. If someone could help i'd greatly appreciate it . Also i'm not an expert so please go easy with any intense technical steps. Thank you in advance.
