Hello mates !
I'm facing a weird issue on what should be an easy task.
I'm trying to activate the crt screen of aimation on my p7300, I follow a tutorial to modify my framework-res file, everything goes fine BUT the animation is not properly oriented : the launcher turns portait while the animation happens, instead of remaining landscape.
Any idea why this is happening and how to fix this issue ?
Thanks.

Wait for a release that isnt alpha. The boot animation is the least priority atm. It will be better eventually.
It is always laggy because the system is loading files and the bootanimation use the cpu (display 30 frames/sec..). Disable bootanimation in order to boot faster
Laggy boot animation doesn't really matter as long as the ROM itself is smooth and not so buggy.
The boot animation is also ripped straight from CM9 so obviously it isn't a top priority for the Devs
I have tried several bootanimations, also changed framerate and size of images in animation, but it is still pausing / stuttering / lagging while loading system.
The only way to have smooth animation is to delete or disable bootanimation.zip and have system animation (the word "ANDROID" with reflection moving over it).
I doubt this is because of the framerate or image size / type of frames, because the stuttering occurred at the same moments of loading for the same period of time when i was changing bootanimation.zip.
I couldn't find any solution on the internet, but would be happy if i knew how to solve this problem. (although i realize there are far more important things to be done)
Edit: FIXED WITH TODAYS CM10 AND DEVIL'S KERNEL (22.8.2012)
Hi guys,
i am making an shutdownanimation.
I've looked at the original from Ultrasound ROM - i's working.
In zip is part[X] folder vith desc.txt file.
I made everything in the same way. It is working - when is the phone shuting down, the animation appears, but there is some kind of a flickering.
It seems that on every X frames is shown 1 frame of them all (located in the middle of animation, eg. animation have 48 frames, so 24. frame is shown after every */- 12. frame).
I tried everything, and i dont know what am i doing wrong.
It's in *.png format, propper scaled, everything is just how it should be, but still flickering.
Please help, i appreciate any answer, thanks.
Hiya,
Two Qs:
1) Is it possible to remove the LG bootscreen? Reboot the phone a lot and I think it might make it faster. Am rooted and on the latest 10h firmware.
2) Is there an app that effectively puts a brightness slider on the status/notification bar? I wouldn't mind even it was a widget. I tried Power Toggles but it only allowed for a pop up slider which isn't that convenient.
Thanks xda
hi
1> yes it is possible (if u asking for boot animation, not logo) it is stored in /system/media.
2> I also experience problems with brightness when I was using Brightness Level widget but this is sort of LG kernel bug as I can understand cause I got problems with changing brihtness to auto mode

Perfect, thanks for the reply. So I can just delete the animation from .../media?
Yeah, I guess we'll have to wait for the update or patch in a custom rom for that brightness slider.
Whether I go into settings - display - wallpaper,
or
quickpic - select photo - set as lock screen
Neither of these modes 'take' and it just sticks with the same lock screen I've always had.
I wonder if I'm supposed to be performing another step, or whether my phone is just buggered?
Running Ripper ROM v10 and JKay Deluxe14.9.3
Does anyone else have this issue?
Fixed it.
You have to use the Stock Gallery app, so I had to clear defaults in application manager first (I was using Quickpic) and then it worked using Gallery.

I think most mod roms removed the default wallpapers and some apk that support using it to make the rom light, but have options to install them if you needed it or use gallery pictures
In android 12 there is new overscroll stretch animation.
There is some option to turn it off without disabling all others animations or bring back old android 11 overscroll effect?
In chrome we can disable it using this flag:
chrome://flags/#elastic-overscroll
First thing I kill on Adroid is animations, enjoy the fast UI...
I'm wondering if there is a flag which can be changed using adb shell settings
is there really no way to disable android 12's overscroll??

"Changing Animator Duration Scale in Developer Options to Animation Off is the solution. You need to refresh whatever app you're on to see the effects. So after making the changes in Dev Options, close the app that you're experiencing the stretchy texts on and reopen it to see the changes made."
Not sure if this works. A fast phone doesn't need any animations, etc. One of the first things I disable in Developer options. Animations where junkware in XP×64, still junkware today...
I tried it before and it works, but i want every animation to stay normal EXCEPT overscroll. Disabling all in-app animations for one eye-straining animation is dumb. It'd be great if there's a way to replace the overscroll animation or disable it alone...

Not that I know of. A chrome edit maybe, try searching for that. Many browsers allow you to alter their default hidden settings.
All animations do is make a fast UI less usable. I want to see real time what's going on, or not. Whenever I see lag that's not internet connection related I go into witch hunting mode.
Is there no way to remove that annoying effect? I don't understand how there is no option other than removing all the animations...
i really hate it
