I have a 6800 runing PA 2.55 ,fixed by daniel_hk .And I was wondering if anyone has used PMR on this .
I was wondering what settings would help with memory and battery .
I used the same rom p-2.55 by daniel-hk enhanced with pimp my rom. I applied all the settings except adblock feature. It works very well. If you encounter battery drain issue, try to clean up battery stat via cwm. I also use v6 supercaherged to clean app cache instead of using app killer. It will bring significant battery save. Just to share my method and hope work for you. Thx

Hey there,
I´m using at the moment v9 with Adrenaline Engine installed and some build.prop tweaks. But after editing the build.prop my mobile data isn´t working after I turned wifi on and off. It is definitely caused by the build.prop and not by the Adrenaline Engine, because with the stock v9 build.prop everthing works fine. I´ve uploaded mine build.prop and it would be great, if someone can look through and maybe find the problem.
Thanks in advance.
Ok. I'll look at it.
Temporarily, why don't you just delete the build.prop tweaks you added??
Because, I've even tried that rom and it has no problem with mobile data.
UPDATE:
I've fixed it and attached the build.
Looks like you were messing with the RIL.
My advice: Don't just add tweaks before you really know what they do.
Cheers,
Thank you very much... I´ll test it later... I´ve got one more question. What kernel should I use the battery extender 1.5.1 or cf-root b84? I want an compromise between battery life and performance moreover I want to oc.
Well as of now, I'd prefer cf Root,
because the Battery Extender Kernel has been experiencing issues for the meantime.
As soon as those problems are fixed, try going over to battery extender kernel.
They Both OC.
OK I´ve tested the modified build.prop and the problem is still there...
I can't open build prop file
help guys
Boyfriend (more technically apt than I, however, currently unavailable) helped me root and install a new rom on this POS and am still having issues (running [ROM][JB][4.1.2]Slimbean 3.1.0 Unofficial Galaxy Exhibit 4G by camcory)
Issues I have are as follows:
- Constantly having to use a task manager to kill apps that constantly start and restart so nearly all my memory is being used and phone is laggy as all get out. (Consequently, anytime I try to open an app, it takes AGES before it starts..including my contacts or msging...any app in general)
- Randomly (and sadly, not consistently) when I plug in headphones, music player starts on its own. Have to kill multiple times as every time I kill it it starts again until I reboot phone out of frustration. Only solution at moment was to delete all mp3s I had on my phone and remove music player (which sucks, cause I would like to be able to listen to my music on my phone...).
- When I use Pandora, Google voice search starts on it's own. I have to kill it multiple times as it keeps restarting, before I have to reboot phone out of frustration and that tends to take care of the problem..again, temporary (and annoying) solution.
- Curious, when I bought phone, it was partitioned (or so it appeared) so there was USB storage, SD storage, and then external SD. Even after installing new ROM, a lot of files that were on the phones internal SD storage remained, wondering if there's a way to wipe that so there's not duplicate files laying around, or files that are no longer necessary as they were part of the original phone's system, or if these are files that should remain on the phone for some purpose.
Also, in general, not terribly pleased with the look of this ROM. I really enjoyed the look and some of the default apps that came on the phone (the msging and contacts especially) when I bought it. Any recommendations as to possible ROMs that would be similar to the stock, yet not as craptastic, would be much appreciated.
Any and all help is much appreciated!
ITry Linero either version with formula84 gapps and either PoweredbyEvil v1 or DemonsBlood v8 over clocked max 1612 smoothass gov SIO io and set oom and minfree to strict in ROM toolbox. Use pimp my ROM for additional tweaks such as entropy sdcard tweaks all and carefully read memory tweaks
This benches and runs smooth with zero lag for me.
No problems with music or headsets. I deleted Apollo with ROM toolbox and installed fusion.
Memory is 168 free on average without using task manager due to tweaks in pimp my ROM and ROM toolbox.
I don't use Pandora but have yet to have Google now open when opening other apps
If inserted sdcard then you have the proper storage. The partition is for boot and internal then sdcard is external
Note that I use swapsd included in linero so my internal is really now external as most all goes by default to internal when installed so with a 32gig card I don't worry
When flashing ROM wipe cache + dalvik cache + system + factory reset + internal storage and I also wipe android secure. Be sure files you want saved is on sdcard along with ROM + gapps to be flashed.

Finally having a moment to look over everything and give it a shot today. Fingers crossed I don't brick it
Do you have any recommendations for launchers/themes? I was really keen with the look of the stock theme that came on the phone. The hololauncher that came with slimbean and the default theme I was not terribly keen with.
Thanks again for your help. I will let you know how it all pans out!
I personally use jellybean extreme cm10 and love it. Have tried many but always go back. I use the blue one as it is near black and updates is often and very well supported. It is a paid theme but worth it imo

So I've done all as you said except for the pimp my rom just yet (battery started dying and I couldn't bother to be tethered to the charger while I worked ). As it is, it seems a bit faster, and I've yet to run into the bugs that I had previously (but that's always how it is in the honeymoon stage). Am trying to stay optimistic.
I am dying for the old messaging, contact list, and alarm clock that stock had, but cest la vie I spose. I'll have to nose around in the future and see what's out there.
Thanks for all your help
So I installed and all seemed to be going well and then I started getting crashes and lockups. So I reverted back to Slimbean that I was running previously. Now most of the apps I had before (even on Slimbean) will not work; "aren't compatible."
I can't for the life of me remember how we bipassed this last time I dropped that ROM on here. Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Do a factory reset 2 times , wipe ROM 2x and wipe internal SD 2x then flash the ROM again. I recommend causing team win recovery made for our galaxy exhibit. Since of what I read you want jelly bean but a stock feeling I recommend you using remics jbjob rom

You need to change your dpi to 240 and reboot. Then clear cache on Play Store and reboot again. It might take a few app cache wipe/ reboots before your apps come back.
Hi guys,
I'm on CM10.1 stable and I'd like to switch to a custom Kernel for better performace (mainly smoothness and battery life).
I'd like to know which are your favourites and why (3 reasons). Could be a good help to other novices also.
Thanky you!!!

I recently updated to CM 10.1 Stable from 10.0 Stable.
While I was on CM 10.0 I used Semaphore Kernel and had 1) excellent luck and 2) support. Just go to Semaphore's thread and see 3) the praise and 4) respect stratosk (the developer) has earned! Semaphore would be my first non-stock Kernel choice without hesitation.
You asked for 3 reasons and got 4 reasons.
Enjoy!
As I recall, Semaphore supports only Samsung GT-I9000 and Nexus 4.
my fav would be stock
but i ll use semaphore sometimes even in GB, cyancore (if i feel to make my fone a psp ) fishear for testing cm10 ROM, n mackay for twrp (making my friend jealous of touch recovery)
but mostly semaphore

Try semaphore, been using it for a year (and updating of course) and never had a problem with it.
I have used Semaphore for 3 years and i will use it until my phone breaks. :silly:
The last times the best for me is mackay
Latrop is also a really stable kernel

Random reboots
After about four days of CM 10.1.1 stable I must say that it's very smooth and has good battery (about same as cm 10.0 stable with semaphore 2.6.5 or (even better) Slim Bean 4.2.1 stable in my case). Battery time with CM 10.0 stable and it's own Cyanocore kernel was terrible.
However 1) I have had about two random hard reboots a day while phone was in sleep mode. After full wipe, wipe cache and dalvik it still occurs.
And 2) soft reboots when connecting to PC via USB or updates of apps on internal sd storage. This problem also occured while using Slim Bean 4.2.1 stable. (This problem was never with CM 10.0 stable) It kept coming back after several complete factory wipe and wipes of cache and dalvik.
Can that soft reboot problem be a general Android 4.2x problem with apps moved to SD?
After clean flash and/or full wipe, wipe cache and dalvik I use Titanium to restore to restore all my apps and appdata (only non system relaterd resores). Can the problem be related to Titanium app-restores?
Directly after a random hard reboot I copied as read in some topic last_kmsg and logcat. But what to look for in those files (with a lot of text) after opening them with wordpad?
Why is semaphore kernel so popular ...what are its advantages to stock-kernel, for example in CM ???

Semaphore is the stock CM kernel on steroids. It lets you use the standard processor governors and voltages and so on but allows other things such as touchwake, a bit better vibration control, deep idle and many other features- I can't remember most of them off the top of my head

No more random reboots
After reflashing CM 10.1.2 (and off course factory reset, clear cache and clear dalvik) I now don't have random reboots anymore.
The difference with last time when I was having random reboots: this time I did not restore apps with data using Titanium Backup. I reïnstalled all the apps via Play Store. Meanwhile I read also in the thread of this rom that Titanium restores causes random reboots and soft reboots off updating/removing apps located on internal sd storage.
Although my i9000 now have been working flawless about the last 5 days, not being able to restore apps and data with Titanium is a real let down. Changing rom and installing apps and setting them up is a real annoying time consuming job. I will now be thinking twice before changing and testing other custo firmware. Hopefully Titanium comes with a solution.

The CM 10.1.2 stable rom is working very well now. The original CM-kernel seems much better than the one that came with CM 10.0 stable concerning smoothness, batterytime and stability. CM 10.0 (different flashes and factory resets) had much lag but also bootloops out of the blue sometimes. That led to trying Semaphore-kernel which in my case performed very much better and more stable than the CM 10.0 kernel itself.
That's why I'm very curious how latest Semaphore-kernels perform with CM 10.1.x stable. Has anyone tried that yet?
But the best performing rom I've ever had on my i9000 came after that and was Slim Bean 4.2.1 stable (which includes Semaphore as standard kernel). When the stable version comes of Android 4.2.2 there is a 90 percent change I will reflash Slim Bean. Slim Bean was like CM on steroids and also better batterytime in my case.
Hopefully there is then a solution for the current Titanium errors. Otherwise again reinstalling all apps and setting them up. Or try MyBackup Root in stead of Titanium.
I have already put money a side for the new Nexus 7 and my i9000 is still a great phone which does not need replacement. With the earlier mentioned Slim Bean rom my i9000 even performed better than my brothers laggy Galaxy S3 with stock rom. But everybody knows how terrible for performance Thouchwiz is.
Hello,
V20a rooted + iodak v6 -> battery drain
I've tried first stable CM 10.1 -> Sometimes i lose network and need to restart
So i'm seeking for the less buggy rom for my phone, less battery drain any proposal? Rom must integrate French langage
Huge thanks for help
What's your battery drain? Some screen shots to see what’s draining?'
See attached screenshot.
Thanks
I can't see the battery graph, so i'm not sure if you charged it, but
27 hrs uptime and down only by 33%....How is that bad?
Here is the graph.
Thanks
Try MIUI...

I also faced same problem before, tried different kernels, Cyanogen Mods but nothing helped then I tried MIUI which is the best ROM so far. Very battery friendly. You can download ROM from here - http://www.miui.com/getrom.php, LG Optimus 4XHD is listed as LG P880. It comes without Gapps so you have to install each app manually (as I did). For play store install it as system app or you can not download app from play store from browser. ROM comes with 3 languages English, Chinese (simplified), Chinese (traditional). You may find other language patch here (I hope) - http://xiaomi.eu/community/categories/miui-multi-language-project.81/
there's miui gapps, no need to install th e packages manually....
anyhow even if ou recharged a bit the drain doesn't seem so bad..
Ideal consumption in this phone is about 1%/hr when idle, check if your consumption matches that
Also you can install better battery stats from android apps and check in detail what's draining your power

Hi all,
My phone:
Samsung s advanced
Android 4.1.2

Kernel 3.0.31-1122398
I often have bad performance when seeing video or trying to make a photo/video, I'd like to try and increase performance,
1 Does a kernel update is a good idea?
2 if yes which kernel should i use?
Thanks in advance

Our camera is not so good, so it doesn't take good photos or videos.
Can you detail more, what you mean by bad performance when seeing video? Lag ?
Thanks for your answer,
Yes, very often when i want to take a picture have to wait 30 s or a min. untill it's ready, and sometime it stop working and i need to restart app, when watch a video i alway have lags etc...
it's really frustrating.
I use clean master to also check memory usage and i always see that the minumum used memory is 85% or 90%, is there a way to free up some?

Strange. Camera should take a pic in max 5 seconds. Don't use clean master or any other app which "free ram", also don't install antiviruses (are not really useful) or apps which "save battery". These apps consume more battery and consume ram.
1) AOSP by JTeam. Has good battery backup, but also performance. It is based on 4.4.4 kitkat. It is pure android like Nexus one. If you need customisation options use Xposed Modules. If you want to install this rom, install this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54147880&postcount=961 because it is latest.
2) Sami OS v1.2 + cocore kernel v8.2 = same like aosp. SamiOS is based on jb 4.1.2.
3) Stock JB Debloated + cocore kernel v8.2 (i recommend UBLPK firmware).
Note that Cocore 8.2 doesn't have overclock / undervolting, but is most stable in my opinion. You can flash newer version if you need overclock.
I'm using AOSP by JTeam since 1month, i installed many apps and it still running smooth. But you also need to care of every rom.
Sami OS v1.2 ... Very good rom and it will always be my favorite 4.1.2 rom.
Some tips:
1) Use Greenify app. You find it in google play. It let you frezee apps which you are not using and them stay closed until you open them again.
2) Use SDMaid app, is in google play too. It can free some memory (not ram) of your phone.
3) Wipe cache and dalvik cache in recovery if rom become laggy.
Thanks a lot!
it's really helpfull.
