When I connect the charger the charging icon does not appear but if I leave it connected the battery level rises. Only in the phone status I can see that this loading.

What ROM are you using? Did you already do a factory reset from within hidden menu?
3845#*970# then do a factory reset and set up your phone again after. Or simply try to reflash your ROM. Dont know, if it helps though.

Well........ Just keep charging for 1 -2 hours. do not try to switch on the device. if it doesn't help, try with different charger.

Just plug it in for 1 hour then try reebooting
I had this problem. What it was for me was the micro usb dock on the phone was bent downwards and out of place. To fix it I put in the cable and bent it back. I do not exactly recommend it but it was a quick fix for me.

Hello Freinds,
I am on stock ics updated via kies.I have never rooted my phone.yesterday I recurved a message while charging that voltage is too high so charging has paused.I removed the charger but every second my phone would beep and show that I connected charger.I tried to reset and it said battery empty even when it had sufficient battery.I did a reset from the options and even formatted the usb.in the night I charged my phone completely.Jun the morning it had list 20% so I checked the deep sleep mode and it was in deep sleep mode while night.I noticed that battery monitor states I charged it in morning but I did not.so I assume it was the voltage thing again.now my phone does not show me that message but my voltage is always 4.062V our similar.in short always high then 3.8.once I remove the charger it comes down in a couple if hours.
Experts please help.
Regards,
Tejas

Have you checked your micro sd charging slot on your phone for any dirt or anything or any moist got in there or..you could Remove the battery for at least 40 minutes, put the battery back in and allow it to fully discharge, afterwards do a full charge with it turned off; do not interrupt it. And i would of said do a f reset but you already have and b carefull f resetting with this " brick bug" problem going on

There is no response when I connect it to PC, But when I disconnect it shows charging for a while and it goes away.
I talked with Samsung service center it says there might be problem with charging IC
Please suggest
Have you tried using other charger? Maybe it would be best to bring it to samsung service center if it's IC problem.

I tried with 10-15 different cables, but still there is no response.
I get battery charging image when i press the power button first time without connecting the cable and when I press it again then the phone starts. Does that mean anything, right now I am charging the phone using external charger and I am also not able to connect the mobile to laptop too.
Are you plug on USB hub?

I tried the replacement battery too, but still the issue is same.
Try to plug it directly on usb

I had similar issue.
It turned out to be a bit of pocket fluff inside the usb socket.
I tried a vacuum cleaner first which didnt help very much but then I used a small soft clean paintbrush to loosen the dirt inside the socket, then hoover out and bingo!
Try that first before you send it off for repair.

It looks as though the phone is charging, but the indication of the charging/not charging state is very slow to react.
You plug it in - it shows nothing (but maybe charging), then you unplug it and it shows charging (for a short time).
I suggest that you plug the charger in for at least 10 minutes and time how long before the phone displays that it is being charged. After the 10 minutes, unplug the charger and time how long before the display changes to not being charged.
Suddenly, my tab is not opening without charging. If I disconnected my tab from charging, automatically it shuts down. What is the problem?? Should I change the battery. I'm using Android OS 2.3.4 and my tab is Galaxy Tab(SHW-180S).
Thank you.

That is POWER SAVER MODE, the battery is too WEAK to start the system, u should let it charge about 10 minutes , and try turn it on ....
Poeer off the tab then, let it charge for at least half an hour before trying to boot from battery.
With an empty battery it takes 4 to 5 hours to fully charge a tab.

Are u able to do a HARD RESET? ...Try this method?
This setting erases all data from your device, including
your Google or other email account settings, system and application data and settings, and downloaded applications. After
a reset, you’ll be prompted to set up your device the next time you turn it on.
1. With the device off, press and hold Volume Down and Power.
2. Release the Power button when you see the Samsung logo, but continue to hold Volume Up until the recovery screen appears.
3. Use the Volume buttons to navigate the menu and select wipe data / factory reset. Press Home to choose the selection.
4. Press Volume Up continue.
The Galaxy Tab should then go through the hard reset process.

Hello.
I've left my phone in the hot sun for some time and it's not working anymore. When I try to power it on, the LG logo appears and screen+buttons flash continnously as if it's struggling to start but can't. *this is on battery, not plugged it.
When I plug it in charger It powers up, everything is working but it eventually reboots by itself. Sometimes it stays on 3 seconds, other times 2-3 mins, then reboots.
I've tryed wipe data/factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, reinstall ROM, wipe battery stats..nothing works.
So basically if I plug out the charger it instantly shuts down and starts trying to power up in a continnous loop.
Is the battery dead?
Thanks
I think so... You could try another battery but it is possible that you may have fried some guts as well. Was it on when you cooked it in the sun?

It boots when I power it on charger, but if I try to make a phone call or 'stress' the phone, it reboots. Without charger it does not boot.

Already tried a different battery? Its quite cheap and I guess some power cells might have died and that would explain the malfunction, when you "stress" the phone and it needs more power. Maybe it is able to deal with low power, but high output simply takes it down.

I didn't buy a battery yet because I can't find one. I'm on vacation (Italy) and at the local phone service they told me they don't know this phone and asked me where it's from . and if I want a battery they have to order it and it takes time.
That's why I came here, hoping for a nice "custom" solution for the problem.
I think the battery does not know how to charge anymore, anyone knows a good clean wipe/format for the battery? besides discharge it complety and wipe stats.(because I cannot discharge it, when it's plugged in it says 100% and if I plug out the charger it dies)
thanks for the replies mates.
