Any apps that I click I get unfortunately (app) has stopped... I open Terminal Emulator, and type "df" , under /datadata ..Size 422 M used all 422M there no free space..
I still have more than 13G in storage/sdcard ... any help... Thanks
Which ROM are you running? I forget whether that is a current partition scheme or not. Either way, clear app data cache, remove apps you don't need, or move some to the SD card.

Perhaps you could delete apps that aren't needed. Also, you might have a rogue app, I would check what's draining your ram/battery and uninstall that app if it's not needed or can be replaced.

Under battery stats in settings. You can also get apps like OS Monitor or BetterBatteryStats.

Are you listening to a lot of music?
If not, it could be coming from a 3rd party player or that you have a lot of music scattered around your SD and it's having trouble reading it.

Hey guys,
I haven't been able to find very much on this, so if you guys can help, that'd be great.
This morning, I woke up, and my phone said "low on space". I tried everything from a reboot to taking the battery out, etc. Then I went into Menu>Setting>SD and Phone storage, and something caught my eye. The "Available Phone Storage" area was losing memory as I was looking at it! It decreased from 500kb, and settled down somewhere around 28kb. And two days ago i had 30MB!!! How did this happen?

The only thing I can think of being a culprit would be an app that needs to be downloading tons of data. I know the XDA app downloads data when you view new forums... do you use that a lot?

Ok, try this. Do a fresh install of whatever ROM you're using, and don't install any extra apps. See if you start to lose space like you are right now. Then, install the apps one by one, and you'll see which app is taking up your free space.
Have you tried a wiping and restoring your ROM? That may be your only option. Strange issue to have

+1...beat me to it
my wifes was doing this, i noticed the "contact storage" was almost 80mb! She has over 300 friends on FB and its set to refresh that every 2 hours. Try clicking on menu-settings-then accounts &sync... they are set at default to every2 hours. it would freeze her phone and couldn't receive texts or calls until its don't refreshing sometimes too more than an hour. not sure if this is a complete fix or not just tried it earlier today.
Its the HTC Mail app possibly. There are temp files building up. Only way to clear them is to be rooted and delete them with a file manager.

After using the gallery app and leaving the phone for a while, check the battery usage of the sensors by typing in *#*#4636#*#* in the dialer. Choose sensor usage and since last unplugged. See if the Gallery is in the list and see what time usage it has taken.
If the time is close to the time since you last used the Gallery then the sensor is unnecessary draining the battery.
WE NEED TO FLOOD SAMSUNG WITH TWEETS AND FACEBOOK MESSAGES WITH THIS PROBLEM! IT IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!!!
I Get this - Official Froyo JPO - UK CPW Unlocked I9000- CF Root, Voodoo lagfix
Using Just pictures instead, but annoying to say the least as i causes huge battery drain.
yes it happen to me too after upgrade tu JPO..........i really have no idea how to solve it and hope someone come with the solution ASAP!!!!! but hope Samsung will be the first.....my gallery usage is the same time with my phone time after the last charging eventhough i rarely or never use the gallery....!!!! so annoying that need to charge it everyday!!!!
deleting your gallery.apk and replacing it with the latest update from the market fixes it.
How to delete the gallery.apk can be found here on the forums.
Yes! this is crap. Without gallery running I get virtually 0 drainage in standby mode and with gallery on I'm losing about 4-5%/hr =|. I'm wondering if changing the gallery apk will help here...
thanx...but by deleting the gallery will i get a new gallery from the market with beautifull 3D interface like this one? but if it the only way....i got no choice right!!! my battery life is more important...hmmm

I could find gallery 3d developed by Rayman50? I installed the same. Still getting the same drain issue. Or are you talking of some other app?
can you give me some instructions onto how to remove the Gallery app, when ever I try to remove it it keeps saying it cannot find the file even though I'm in the correct directory /system/app/Gallery3D.apk

Use root explorer navigate /system/app from there delete gallery.apk. Restart your phone then install the same from market. Or use adb. I don't know the commands for it though. If someone could help!

Use root explorer or similar to delete the gallery.apk, delete all the cache related stuff it made ( search the forum ) and reboot your device, download the gallery3d app from the market and install, it fixed it for all of us who actually did it.

it refuses to delete, says it deleted but it's still there. i have root, using android mate, given it root access but i just cant delete the file. even in adb, it says the dir is read only
I also get this bug. Thanks for reporting it.
I think you can stop the bug by clearing the ram using the built in task manager and using a level 2 clear memory. I think it's working for me.
Any proper fixes? I really like using the built in Samsung gallery.
Edit: Doesn't work.
yup, had it unplugged for 10hrs 40 mins
the gallery is showing 9hrs 24 mins....WTF!!!!!!
my battery is on 6% turned it off and charing it right now!
I thought there was something really wrong with the battery life...now I KNOW!
Nice find ... Even killing it doesn't stop the use of sensor

does it give a big change after you did it or equal to the Eclair battery life????..and what is the time for your gallery usage after that???
Anybody come up with a solution for this?
Last night I reboot the phone and didn't use the standard gallery for 8 hours and guess what. The gallery drainage stopped. So I am looking for the other apps to replace the standard one.
I removed the Gallery3d.apk and .odex from the system/app folder.
I then rebooted and installed the Gallery 3D app from the market.
Now when I check the sensor battery usage, the gallery time seems to be about the same time I have actually been in the app. So so far, the problem seems solved.
This is a bit annoying especially since the gallery was one of the first things i used just after upgrading to this ROM. Not sure i like the idea of having to delete the bloody app just to get decent usage!

At least with a quick use I didn't find the market app any different, except it is in English and not in Finnish like I have set my phone.
Just make a backup of the original files and it's safe.
Hello, all...
What is Facebook UploadManager service which allways running on background on my NX S? Its starting automaticaly after every reboot and consume lot of RAM and battery. I see this after update to FB v1.7.1 - its normal?
I´sorry for my bad english... ty for your reply

the amount of free ram in running service is actually not the free ram the system has anyway
It came with the new update. I uninstalled cause facebook is horrid.

I ended up uninstalling fb because I couldnt figure out how to shut it down. It was destroying my battery, usually draining it completely after around 5hrs.
Was this happening to anyone else?
I just go to Settings -> Applications -> Running services -> Click Facebook -> Stop UploadManager service.
You have to do this after every reboot but it's a temporary solution...
I was going to 'manage apps' --> 'running' ---> then force stopping it. but it'd keep turning itself back on
is your way doing soemthing different?

From what i've read seems like a regualr problem, Just picked the phone myself, But when playing things like Temple Run 2, Candy Crush & Tapped out, the phone just cuts out.
Problem has happened with Stock ROM, and on CM 10.1.
What am I best doing?
Sometimes apps can close on their own if Android is running out of free memory. Check to see how many processes you have running and free up some memory before you start the game by closing running apps . There are so many memory cleaner & app manager apps but the best I have found is a very basic app called fmr memory cleaner and then I use SystemCleanup by inteks which is the best cache cleaner out of so many that I've tried. So if this is the reason your apps are closing this should fix the problem.
U shud try a kernel with no ram hack

I use GO Task Manager to clean up my RAM memory. They have a nice little widget which shows the percentages of RAM in use. Click the button (might have to click it 2 times every once in a while) and you'll see the percentage go down. This might help clear up some RAM for your games.
If this doesn't help, try reinstalling the ROM, preferably with a full whipe (remember to back up your data, just in case).

Yes there are in the playstore. But I would not recommend kill the apps or processes as they will harm the phone and ruin it's performance. I suggest just looking for the app that is causing the drain and delete it.

it's a background process initiated by google update service..
I have the same problem here since Google installed the Play Services update behind my back. I disabled the CacheUpdateService Service via System Tuner Pro abd prevented all wakelocks from the package via Per App Hacking. See if it works. Phone is now turned on for ten hours with 9 1/2 not in deep sleep due to the great Google update... Damn.
