My headphone adapter for my MT3G recently stopped working, so I'm going to buy a new one soon, but I figured I might as well get a new set of headphones as well.
Would you guys know of any good quality headphones?
I'm interested in in-ear bud headphones with a built in mic.
Also, would you guys know where I can buy the MT3G 3.5mm adapter?
I found one on Amazon, but it's requiring me to buy the headphones with it.
Also a white pair of headphones and adapter is what I'm looking for, since I want it to match my MT3G color.
I know this is in the wrong forum, but I figured that whatever worked with the G1 should work with the MT3G, correct me if I'm wrong though.
Thanks in advance.
I'm using this original adapter with the Ai-M6 headphone.

Thanks for the quick post, the headphone you got looks very promising, but it seems like it doesn't have a microphone built in. I'll wait for some more posts and see, but thanks again I'll be sure to keep those headphones in mind.
I need new headphones for my phone, stock headset is reall crapy. I think of Razer Moray and I wonder could anybody give me any comments on them. Is the microphone compatibile with HD 2? And what about sound quality? Or maybe there is some equivalent for them? Reasonably priced, well sounding headphones withs microphone? Thanks for replies and excuse my language.
Okay, so i was out the other day and relised i had lost my original headphones while i was out. I use headphones daily and couldn't live without them.
Question is does anyone stock the original Samsung Headset with the PTT(push to talk) button on it? or maybe another manufacturer that works with the Ace.
Preferably I'm looking for standard rather than the in-ear pair.
Thanks in advance!
I've tested it with an original headset from LG (LG optimus one). And worked!
Maybe you should try buy a new one and test it before you actually buy it.
the pinout of samsung's stock headset is universal, you may use it on iPod, HP 4-pole audio+mic jack and in others, but not on nokia. nokia headsets follow a different pinout pattern, swapping ground to mic+shield. well, I did successfully converted a nokia headset to a universal one.
wait, I was lost there, but still, samsung's 3.5mm jack is universal. only nokia is an exception. hehehe. you may use any headset except for old iPod headsets and nokia headsets. iPod 4, iPhone 4 and newest ipods have the universal jack pinout configuration that shares with almost all of handsets.
Thanks for the replies guys. Done a bit of digging around and found a user on eBay selling original headsets for £3

I tried my old Sony Ericsson headset and the sound was so distorted. It was like the speakers were rattleing although the sound was so quiet...
anyways, as mentioned before, i've found a set on ebay and a reasonably good price of £2.20
Not sure if i'm allowed to link to ebay pages but here goes...
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/280795430244?_trksid=p5197.c0.m619
If I had a pound for every time i saw something sold as genuine on Ebay
We'll see what happens when they come, if they function properly ect... then at the end of the day i'm not fussed
Just got the set through this morning... Seems like stock, build quality is as good as my original, sounds is ok. and the button functions. So £2.20 well spent...
Thanks for your help guys

Defy has the same pinout as Iphone, It's 3.5 mm jack of course . You need to give more details if you expect any help like the most important how much are you willing to pay, with or w/o microphone.

you can try SoundMagic ES18 i have used it for over a year and it is really really good, GREAT BASS!!!
It doesnt have microphone & I dont know how much it will cost in your country. I bought it for USD7 approx.
iI would recommend philips shb 9000 headphones.
The feature is you can connect it with bluetooth OR with cabel (for example when battery is zero)
Cable connection give better sound every time, but BT connection let's use it as handsfree
Are there headphones where the jack has three connectors, the third one for FM reception, like the original?

There is nothing special with Defy's headphone plug, if you're going to use a headphone withour microphone.
Any headphone with a stereo 3,5mm jack will work. So, if you have a favorite headphones which you used before with your music players it'll work on Defy.

As I said above, any standard headphones will work. The FM radio doesn't use a seperate part of the headphones as antenna. It uses the same signal cable of the headphones as antenna.
If you can do away with microphone(not suitable if you intend to use for calling), as pointed you can use any headphone with the standard 3.5mm jack. I use Sennheiser HD 202 II.
Hello everyone, this is my first post here and before I ask my question I have to say thanks to all XDA members for the great help you provided me over the years.
Today my problem is that the sound/music in my Note 4 (TRLTECAN) through the 3.5mm jack plug is really really distorted and by distorted I mean crackling, noisy, not ''listenable''.... Also only the left channel is working.
I already did a lot of search and here is what I did so far :
Tried 3 audio output devices (AKG Q701, Stock earbuds, Harman Kardon SoundstickIII)
Flashed stock firmware from SamMobile with heimdall
Tried Viper4Android on SlimRemix LP 5.1.1
Replaced the jack plug with an OEM brand new one
I carefully cleaned the contacts between the logic board and the replacement jack plug connector
I tested different audio output like bluetooth and usb via the Samsung Multimedia Dock and through my Fiio E17 DAC and all was crystal clear. So now I'm asking you guys if you have ideas... Oh by the way my Knox counter is tripped so no RMA or repair for me... If someone can find a solution for this I'll give money to this/those persons and be extremely grateful !
Thanks in advance !
P.S. I usually write in french so sorry for the bad english.

Thanks for the answer its a great idea but I dont think this can hide the kind of distortion that I talk about. For the bluetooth headphones I dont think the audio quality will met my AKG Q701 specs... And by the way I have my usb DAC for listenning music and its doing great. All I want is to get the jack plug working as it was before without external gadget.
Hello,
I know which distortion you mean, I have that one too. Happened right after updating to 5.1.1. In my case I think that if I were able to downgrade that'd fix it.
I do not have this problem so I can not help other then some advice. Have you tried cleaning, it tuner spray or something like that, also if your technically inclined you can order a new one and replace it or if its still under warranty odin it back to stock. And take it in as its a hardware problem not software they should honor it I have never had to take mine apart so I'm not sure how difficult it would be anyways here is a list from ebay http://www.ebay.ca/sch/Cell-Phone-Smartphone-Parts-/43304/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=note+4+earphone+jack. Here is a video on how to take it apart if you watch the video you will notice the headphone jack is mounted to the back and uses a touch connection https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZND9Q73wjr8
