Got my email from Amazon saying that my Poetic Slimline for the Nexus 10 has shipped. It will arrive on Jan. 4. I'll let you all know at that time my thoughts. Anyone else get their shipping notification?
I got a shipping notification too, with a estimated delivery of Jan 2-4. I ordered it in black I really wish they had more colors like grey and brown. I'm not a fan of pastels or bright cases for my expensive gadgets, especially when I use them outside my house.
Mine shipped too, although it says delivery estimate is 24th Jan.

Mine too! Are they walking it to my house, I wonder?
Would it be right to assume that those of you wiht the estimate for the 24th are from the UK? I'm also on the 24th but hey, i'..
Hang on, i've just looked on amazon as opposed to simply the dispatch email and it state "Saturday 5 Jan 2013 - Thursday 24 Jan 2013"
so i think in the dispatch email they are just stating the worst case scenario delivery date.
Mine shipped too.
Delivery estimate Monday 31 Dec 2012 - Saturday 5 Jan 2013
Dispatched
To Spain.
If your case has shipped already I highly doubt it will take a month for it to reach some of you guys. Check out the tracking number Amazon gives you. Amazon lists the estimated delivery data as around the 24th for me, but the tracking number on USPS says it should be here on the 31st.

This is actually why i didn't get it. I hoped Amazon would carry it themselves. Hell a few days ago Poetic didnt even list it on their site.
It looks like they shipped mine from the San Francisco area yesterday. Since I live in the SF area, maybe USPS will deliver it tomorrow, Saturday the 29th.
ETA 11th of January. That's to Sweden.

It arrived ...
It arrived in the mail today. The cover is held down by three magnets. It automatically turns on/off as you open/close the cover. Very slim. Materials are good for the price. The Poetic logo is in silver on the cover. I like the case and it will be my primary case going forward. I also own the Poetic SlimBook and Poetic HardBack cases. Each case seems to have its own strengths. If you want to travel light, then the SlimLine is the ticket. If you want more protection for the tablet, then the SlimBook will give you more of a margin of safety. If you want flexibility in viewing angles as you prop up the tablet for hands free use, go with the HardBack.
UCSB, could you post some pictures? Also, how does the Slimline perform as a stand for the nexus 10?
it wont last..
Sorry but if the front cover materials are the same as the nexus 7 (looks like they are) than expect for it to start falling apart in a weeks time. At the ends of the smart cover folds will crack and start peeling, went through 2 before just getting a refund. They should have designed the cover like apples smartcover or the GMYLE one and I would pay $30+ ...solid design and functionality, ****ty cover... filter the amazon reviews by newest first, all the negative reviews are true and what you can expect... but hopefully they improved the cover design for your guys sake!

You fold the cover to make a triangular stand. I don't plan to use the case as a stand and don't want to fold the cover so maybe someone else can test that feature. Just looking at it, I would not expect it to be a very stable stand. I also own the Poetic HardBack case. Which is designed to be a stable stand that supports all viewing angles. I would just use that case if had a need for a stand. Some photos of the SlimLine below.

In this last picture you can hopefully see some aspects of the case. There are three magnets along the edge to hold the cover shut (they are shiny on lower edge). Inside of cover has a soft feel. The case frame goes along the entire lower part of the case providing complete protection along that edge of the tablet. The case extends out on each side beyond the speakers, providing complete protection of each of those sides.

At this point in time, I can not comment on how durable the cover may be over time. The bottom shell of the case is very solid and well designed and I think it will be durable and provide good protection. The cover is much lighter in weight and if anything was to fail on this case the cover would be the most likely component. Since I only use my cases about once a week if I am taking the tablet out of my home, it takes a long time for any wear to show up. I can't really provide any help on durability on the SlimLine. If a sturdy cover is an important feature, I can say that both of the other two Poetic cases that I own for the Nexus 10 (SlimBook, HardBack) have much thicker, sturdier covers.

I bought two of these cases for my wife since I have the Nexus 7 case for myself. I can honestly say the Nexus 7 case has been very durable. I have not had any cracking and the only peeling was due to it getting scratched while in my work bag. It was small so I just filled it in with a black marker. I have had since about October when the final version came out. For an slim case with good protection you really cannot beat it.

Hi I found this one on ebay and was thinking about buying this instead of waiting for the original samsung ware.

I bought that one from Zenus. Waiting for it to show up here !
I just got my dk grey/ylw zenus case in. Great quality. The pics on their website are spot on.
Where are you located and how long did it take for you to get the zenus case? Was there a tracking number and where did you order from?
I did the faster shipping option to get tracking ($26 US), and I placed the order on the official website (www.zenuscase.com). The order was placed very late on Tuesday evening (Nov 2), the order was processed/shipped on Wednesday/Thursday, and I recieved the package on Friday afternoon in central US. The tracking showed every detailed step of the process, even that it was momentarily held at customs in Chicago. Kinda unbelievable that it flew around the world and made it into my hands so quickly!
I don't think the cheaper shipment option includes tracking but I could be mistaken.

I just received the cheap silicon skin I ordered for my Galaxy Tab. It's perfect for my usage pattern, but I can see that the tight-fitting won't be tight enough for some users (the rubbery edges are soft enough to slip off the tablet). I like it because it doesn't increase the dimensions of the tablet, it protects the plastic case in the unfortunate event of a (short) fall, and it offers more grip than the white plastic material at the back of the Tab (which is good for when resting the Tab near the edge of a table, or simply when holding the Tab with one hand).
I have bought the official notebook/stand case from Samsung:

So far I'm happy with it!
I was waiting for the original case... but after seeing shots and the quality of the case, I think the Zenus cases are of MUCH better quality and looks. D3O technology is interesting though....
Well the Zenus case is not exactly in the same price tag... You can get 2 official cases for the price of one Zenus case!
Still, the original case is made of genuine leather and d30 so I don't know why you doubt the quality? Plus I'm not too fond of the black/orange color of the Zenus... But I have to admit it looks nicely finished, although probably not as secure as the original one (lack of d30)...
I can confirm that there is indeed a hole for the rear camera and LED flash on the zenus color edge.
Why I chose the zenus case over the official samsung notebook/stand case:
-Less intrusive on the tablet's front.
-It was already available for order.
-Slightly better styling in my opinion.
Zenus does offer two other cases for the tab already, more conservative in design, and cheaper to compete with the official case.
If I hadn't found the zenus case, I would have been on board with the offical notebook/stand case as it seems very nice. One wouldn't go wrong choosing to go either way I believe.
Yeah, I guess they do cost more. I do like the different/bright colored accents so I guess I am sold on that. I like how the case is made though and the finishing.
Still waiting to see the official beige slip case. Zinio also has a really nice slip case which will be released Nov 11th...
Okay finally I brought the Zenus one, for a 700€ device I wont protect it with a 10¢ case like the silicons on ebay or some mid quallity like the samsung cases.
First I was waiting of the leather book release by samsung but at least I decided that its stupid because it cost just some bucks less and its only pressed leather (see edges) and it may only got collored plastic back, second thought was to wait at otterbox but according to their pricepolitik »bigger device» higher price this is out of buisiness.(ipad about 90$)
So I will make a review when its arrived.
Ordered the yellow and gray zenus case, it's simply beautiful, and I'm too impulsive to wait for vaja cases, Piel Frama and Piquadro to come out with their annunced galaxy case.
And b.t.w. The zenus one is very similar to the 200$ vaja case for the ipad
P.S.
I used the faster shipping option, and will review it as soon as it arrive

My £500 Tab is nicely wrapped inside its soft rubbery £4 silicon skin, with the advantage of the versatile orientation options not being compromised by a thick and heavy flappy cover on one side
Each to his own though, it really depends on the usage pattern (need for pocket-ability, risks of falls, etc.). I really like the looks of the leather covers, but personally they would compromise my experience of the touch tablet.

I got my case. I like the case a lot. It looks great how the glossy finish matches the dell perfectly. The case is bendable and offers a very snug fit on the streak. The only thing that should work better is the button pressing needs to be pressed with some force.

REVIEW!
Hey everyone! Just got my case in today that I ordered on ebay from seller dcmugen88. I purchased the "JET BLACK Epik Case TPU Jacket+anti Dell Streak Mini 5".
I ordered the case on December 12 for $4.99 and received it today. Free Shipping is included but the estimated shipping time was between 3 and 4 weeks. I was able to expedite the shipping for an additional $1.94 and delivery was estimated between Dec. 20th and Dec. 27th. So all in all, I paid $6.93 for the case and it took 12 days to receive. The seller is shipping from Hong Kong and I received it via USPS.
My first impression of the case upon opening was excellent. Here's a shot of the case in it's packaging.
Included with the case is a clear screen protector. This is a nice throw in...especially for $4.99. I don't currently have a screen protector on my streak, and I'm not sure that I'll apply this one. Since the screen is made from Gorilla Glass, it should be able to withstand normal wear and tear. I'm pretty easy on my gadgets as well...so I have that going for me =) But the screen protector looks to be your average mill. It's not the rubbery kind like the invisibleSHIELD made by ZAGG (which I had on my captivate and hated!).
Free screen protector
Back to the case. The case is very sleek and thin. It's not much deeper than the streak itself. Here are a few photos without the phone in the case from different angles.
This is a form fitting case. I previously had a vinyl skin from Skinit. So when trying to put the case on, it was catching on the edge on the skin. I decided then and there to take the skin completely off and I'm glad I did. The case and phone together look NICE! It's the perfect combination with the black glossy case and large glossy screen. I forgot how good the phone looked with the full screen in all it's glory.
Front screen shot
Rear shot
The functionality with the case on the streak is pretty good. You don't have access to the buttons on the side/top (depends on how you hold it). It definitely takes some extra pressure to control the volume and to press the wake/power button. This isn't a downfall though. I actually like having the buttons covered. It makes me feel like I won't press them inadvertently. There is a cutout for the 1/8 inch headphone jack for easy access.
You have full access to the PDMI port on the bottom/side of the phone. There is no plug in that covers the opening like in the otterbox cases.
Side view
The back of the case has a opening for the speaker, but there isn't one for the dell logo. I consider this a good thing since there is less chance to get debris/trash in the phone which could potentially scratch it. There is a cut out for the camera and dual LED flash as well.
OVERALL:
This is a great case! You can not beat the cost at roughly 5 bucks. I saw in earlier in the thread that some XDA members were buying their cases in the States, so you might find a better deal elsewhere (maybe somebody can post a link?).
My concern with cases in general is that they will be too bulky. This case is the opposite of that. I notice virtually no difference in the feel of the phone w/ the case on in my pocket. It does feel a little more substantial in the hand...but I think that's good. Having the phone with only a skin on it made me feel like I needed to handle it with kid gloves. That's not the case anymore (pun not intended).
There are many other colors available on the sellers ebay store. He also offers different deals. 5 for $15. 2 for $7. That kind of thing.
My sister and her husband just ordered the red unlocked streaks of dell.com and are due to receive them in January. They just ordered their clear cases tonight.
Okay...that's all I have. I hope this helped everybody and feel free to pm me or post in this thread.
Merry Christmas everyone!
Got mine today too. It is nice for the price.
I to have bought this case in jetblack. Love it. If you can wait it out from hong kong, the $5 price is a really good steal! Fits perfect!
But I will suggest. Put 2 pieces of clear tape in the inside of it where the Dell Logo sits at on the back where the battery cover is. If not, give it some time. It will eventually pull the ring off of the Dell Logo. When I noticed, I put the Ring back on the battery cover, and put the pieces of tape in on the case itself. Works fine!
Ordered mine last night
This case is by far the best looking case for the dell streak. It might not offer the protection like a otterbox but it defintely looks great.

I remember emailing dcmugen88 ages ago to make a case for the Streak, he said that it wasnt possible at the time but good to see its been made.
I placed my order today for my red streak. Thanks for posting this thread!
I got the same black shiny case. I don't like it at all. I wanted a rubber gel case like the hd2 comes with, so i can put it on and take it off easily. The details say rubber gel, but its more like soft plastic and its tough to get it on and off because the corners are to tough to fold back. I only need to use a case in certain situations, so this is garbage to me. Let me know if anyone finds one that is real soft gel like the hd2 came with.

I had a case made from the same material for a Nokia e71 - it was great. All the benefits of a silicone case without the lint collecting or pocket clinging.
I had hoped to get on for my streak but I couldn't find anything and finally dropped the money for the Otterbox Commuter. I've very impressed with the Otterbox, but I think I would have been just as happy with this.
I am looking for a case which doesn't cover the bezel and has a stand. I have two ten-one flings for gaming, and I want to be able to use them without removing from the case. any suggestions?
I was hoping speck would make a fit folio for the nexus 7.
I have THIS one waiting until something better comes along. Just covers the 4 corners and a magnetic closure (though probably doesn't act as a "smart" case). Decent for the cost, especially if you have Prime.

I need a case for a Thursday trip and this one is on my short list. Can you tell me a little more about what you like/don't like, I'd really appreciate it.
Since my N7 won't be here until tomorrow I can't comment on fit, but it seems like a decent case for the price. Obviously not real leather, it does look to be amply padded for protection. The slots for adjusting the stand are shorter than the width of the flap that is supposed to fit in, but with the weight of the tablet should still provide enough to hold it in place. The magnetic closure is nice, better than an elastic band to hold it closed unless you drop it. Like I said, nothing special, but it'll work until some nicer cases are available.

I received that same case today. It will do, it's not as nice as the Blurex one I have for my Fire, but it's okay.
Negatives is it has a bigger flap then the blurex. I like a simple book style. But worse is the top corner strap covers the power switch making it difficult to use. I also just noticed the N7 sticks out about 1/8 inch from the bottom.
I can't wait until the magnetic bluerex shows up, ideally with Prime shipping.

It's a pre-release - not available until the 31st. My favorite so far (http://www.amazon.com/i-Blason-Sleep-Google-Tablet-Orange/dp/B008H3PAP2) is similar and also not available until the 26th.
Has anyone got this or seen this etc http://www.amazon.com/Google-Tablet-Leather-Purple-Supcase/dp/B0068MSGZA/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt

Damn that's nice as F lol
i pre-ordered the crowncase since july!!! but the pre-release date have been pushed back from july to aug.. now sept.. got an email from them saying that the "C" logo on the front is stamped backwards, and the front flap puts thetablet to sleep when folded behind the device... so i'm guessing they are fixing the problem yet pushing the pre-release date further? i want that case already!!! i love how it looks and how slim it is.. anything else similiar?
i'm currently using this http://www.amazon.com/CaseCrown-Sta...459337&sr=1-4&keywords=casecrown+bold+nexus+7 LOVING IT!! it's slim and nice.. but want something without the bezel
Can't post links yet, but google or go to amazon and search "EXOTEK Premium Slim-Fit Folio Cover Case With Multi-Angle Stand For Google Nexus 7 Tablet (With Automatic Sleep/Wake Function) (Black)" it's 6.99 with 4.99 shipping, unless you have prime,
I order from eBay for less than $10, US seller:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/221095819899...NX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_3100wt_978
It comes in different colours, it says "Smart Cover" so I would assume a sleep magnet, but even if it doesn't have, it's still not a deal breaker.

Seriously, that CaseCrown is 100% identical to the Blurex slim case. Hand strap and all and its much cheaper. In fact, I got mine for 7 dollars shipped.

This is a review for the Poetic Slimline Case for our Nexus 7.
I've been using this case for a little over a month now, and thought I should fill you guys in. Until now, there are mostly only those hideous, ghetto leather cases that cover up the bezel of the Nexus 7. The Nexus 7 is such a beautiful device that we ought to show off all of it aspects. The case is thin, it adds minimal bulk and is still easy to hold in one hand. It IS a smartcover, meaning there's a little magnet in the flap that power's the screen on/off when you open or close it. And in the end what really matters is that the case really looks good on the Nexus 7. If you don't care about pictures then here is the rundown: smartcover, 2 viewing angles, durable, slim, and completely worth the $20 price!

Aesthetics and Features: (Pictures shown in order)
Microfiber interior lining (prevents the Nexus 7 from getting scratched, as well as keeping the screen free of major smudges).
Flap is secured shut by magnets on the outer edge (circled in red)
NOT Leather (it's made of PU which imitates the look of leather but feels much closer to what the back of the Nexus 7 feels like)
Recessed (not cut outs) buttons, this allows for much easier access to the vital buttons.
Cutouts for both mic's, headphone jack, microUSB port and Speakers (seen above)

Versatility: (Pictures shown in order)
The flap folds back completely (great for holding with one hand)
2 viewing angles (one suited for typing and the other more suited for viewing media

Pricing and Additional Pictures:
Can be purchased directly from the manufacturer: Poetic - $39.95
Amazon - $19.95
Thank you very much for this detailed review. I'm seriously contemplating purchasing this now.
Edit: I ordered the case from UK Amazon.
I have a brand new spare one of these for sale to UK members for £12 delivered. I personally use one myself but just have a spare. PM me if you're interested.

Well, many people appear to think the opposite concerning the build quality ... even for the third rev. of the case, see this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792355
They are large concern about the poor build quality and the fact that this case deteriorate fast ... pictures on the amazon webpage speak by themselves ...
From what I can tell there are bound to be some who are harder on cases than others. I am not saying that this is necessarily the reason for the issues some have seen. Poetic seems to be doing a good job of improving their product and listening to their customers. It also has a 3 year warranty, so if something does happen then it will be replaced. I think that shows you a company that will stand behind their products.

Can this case be used and have a screen protector? The Nexus 7 seems to be a fingerprint magnet.

I've been using the original case, that's without any revisions, for about a month. No signs of wear and tear, and this was the same case with the flap that wouldn't fold all the way back! I had no problems with it, since Poetic promised to have it fixed shortly after I received it, WITHOUT any complaint from me at all. The company stands behind their product. And should something go wrong with the case, it's under warranty for 3 years!! I'm sure none of us will even hold on to our Nexi for 3 full years
As for the screen protector, YES! If you look closely, I have a xoskins screen protector on it. If you can't see it in any of the pictures, then the screen protector is just that good! I've always been happy with xoskins products. They don't brown and yellow after use like Zaggs, and there is virtually no orange peel either. The only reason I opted to put a screen protector on the N7 was because of the fingerprints, and the xoskins screen protector really does a good job at keeping those fingerprints at bay.
EDIT: Just realized you can't really see a screen protector actually on the device in the pictures... You'll just have to take my word for it, it's really that good!

Fair enough ... and thanks for the review!
First off, let me describe what I look for in a case/ sleeve.
First and foremost, I want a premium look and feel, preferably leather, but other materials will do. I paid a large sum of money for this gorgeous tablet, and I would like to put it in a gorgeous case. In my opinion, getting a slim tablet and putting it in a tank like case defeats the purpose of the tablet being thin in the first place.
Typically the premium factor is limited to sleeves. I have not found any high end leather CASES, they're all either pleather, or low quality leather, and look poor on the tablet. Also most leather cases that double as stands look weird, or have too much excess material to secure the tablet to the 'board' of sorts on the back of the case.
Shown here:
http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Slimbook-Leather-Function-Warranty/dp/B00A6X4048/ref=pd_sim_pc_2
As far as cases go, cases that have a cover, but then fold back to form a weird angled stand like so: http://www.amazon.com/i-Blason-Google-Elastic-Included-Warranty/dp/B009RZPH1G/ref=pd_sim_pc_10
are just weird in my opinion, they look odd, and I don't want that much snapping on and off the corners of the tablet, it'll create ware.
However Sleeves often do not have a clasp, or a securing mechanism, but as far as I can tell, friction will do it's job of keeping the tablet in the case, especially due to the Nexus 10's grippy back.
So far I have found two cases that employ both form, function, and a premium feel.
A sleeve: http://www.dodocase.com/products/durables-sleeve-for-nexus-10
(Although it is neither made of leather, nor does it have a clasp)
and a Case: http://www.amazon.com/Poetic-Slimbook-Leather-Function-Warranty/dp/B00A6X4048/ref=pd_sim_pc_2
(Also not leather, but the leather texture will do if realistic enough. At least I don't think it's leather)
I do have one question about the poetic slimbook case I just linked to, would the cover of that stay attached and covered if held upside down via a magnet of sorts, or is it rather flimsy, and just flops around, as a slave to gravity?
To close, I would like to ask a few questions.
Does anyone else have a want for a premium case or sleeve, or am I the only one?
Has anyone found cases or sleeves that are similar to the ones mentioned above (the last two, not the first two)?
Any word on that smart cover that the nexus 10 was unveild with, shown in the video from The Verge Hands on and such.
Also I'd like to mention that I'm really interested in buying a product from http://www.vajacases.com/ however they conveniently do not have a nexus 10 case.
You hit the nail on the head. My thoughts on cases are basically yours. And the Vajacases are really awesome but in my opinion too much premium and therefore too expensive. I think i'll wait for the verge-video-case which hopefully seamlessly attaches to the N10. It can't be too expensive as well. I'm curious when we'll get more information on the same.

SF bags offer some good looking high quality sleeves.
http://www.sfbags.com/products/nexus-cases/nexus-slipcase.php. In this slipcase video, it shows kindle fire slipcase and it shows that even when turned upside down, the kindle won't come out.
they have plenty other choices but it's pre-order for now and start to ship at 11 december. The prices are kinda steep but since you don't care much about price, might as well try it out. Personally, i love the citysleek design.

I've looked through and seen all of the SF bags for the Nexus 10 a while ago, the suede jacket (http://www.sfbags.com/products/nexus-cases/nexus-suedejacket.php) seems to be to my liking. I personally would want something with a little more protection (I don't know how, but I feel like leather would protect it more than suede, despite them being virtually the same material).
The city slicker one is cool, and so is the out back one, but as far as the city slicker and other multipurpose/ travel/ compartmentalized cases go, I already have a North Face Surge bag, so I don't need any more space. I'm looking for a case or sleeve that would protect my tablet INSIDE of my other back, as well as protect it from day to day carrying outside of my backpack, such as if I'm driving to a friend's house, I'd want to case it and throw it on my passenger seat.
I know the previous sentance is a run on, but it's 4:30 am where I am, and I don't care about run on-s and grammar at the moment.

The Nexus 7 case was well reviewed. I'd like a quality case too, but $100+ makes me think twice considering the life of gadgets.
Thanks for the heads up. Looks like it's pre order now and becoming available at the end of the month.
Here is the sfbags.com sleeve with optional pocket for the Nexus 10. Ordered it Friday morning and paid for the FedEx ground delivery and was upgraded to the priority delivery for free and received it Monday morning. This thing is nicely made and it was exactly what I was looking for, tablet goes in snug and has 3 anchors to help to you insert it and remove it from the sleeve. The mesh pocket is a extra feature and I use it to carry my freedompop hotspot and a stylus pen. I am hoping that when the oem cover is release, it will fit without a problem but its a very snug fit.
Only thing I would change would be added a cord at the end to fully enclose the device inside. I paid $32 shipped to me.

I've actually been looking at this case since it appears that the nexus 10 is pretty similar in size to the note 10.1, and this case seems to offer good protection.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nimbus-10-U...1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1355416000&sr=1-1
Anyone know anything about it or have any opinions?
EDIT: On closer inspection it seems the nexus 10 is too wide. Odd, I thought there was a different version of the case for bigger tablets but I can't seem to find it.
I just received an Ultimate Sleeve case from SFBags for my Nexus 10. This is one nice sleeve. It's very sturdy, well-made, and fits the Nexus 10 perfectly. I bought it to protect the tablet while traveling and I think this sleeve will do a far better job than the Case Logic case I bought and returned. I don't care to test it, but the SFBags sleeve has thick padding and the plastic insert sewn into one side should prevent damage for anything short of a drop-kick. I definitely feel a lot better about throwing my Nexus 10 into a backpack or suitcase. It's not cheap but it's worth it if you're looking for quality protection.
SF Bags Slip Case
Received mine yesterday. It is $36 (shipping included) well spent. It fits tight and looks good.
I got the CitySlicker from SF Bags. It's really a quality sleeve/bag. :good: I imagine it will be too big for some, but it's great having space for headphones and a cleaning cloth with the tablet at all times. Also looks and feels high end.
For the price, I sure hope it fits whatever I end up replacing the Nexus 10 with down the road!
I second SF bags. I have their slip case and couldn't be happier.
