Hi everyone, it's possible to have on Xperia T the transparent status bar? It would great.
Just edit the framework yourself, always fun to learn new stuff, after all, I thinks that's what XDA is about. Just make sure you do a backup before applying anything

Now I am without nav bar, just button savior app, and if I have transparent notification bar, this 4,55" display will be amazing and clear from black bar.
Something to edit in framework-res i guess. If anyone can attach xperia t framework ill have a try

Nope, i Mount the XperimenT 1.5
If you wanna upload the stock framework fell free to do it.
I modified framework-res for AOSP lockscreen and aligned music button.
What line will we modify for transparent status bar?
I'm interested for my rooted and stocked Xperia TX.
ps: ciao moresco ci incontriamo anche qua (su tel.net è crashato il forum XD)

So, when i flash in CWM, nothing happens, but when i copy file to system/app folder with permissions rw- r- r-, my notification bar is missing. All bar is missing.
Don't have notification/status/bar above.

When i say, that my notification bar is missing, this is all status/notification BAR with batt, alarm, clock...... icons are missing.
I thing that status bar with clock, alarm and...... will be transparent about 50% or 30% may be, not missing bar.

A little question about this mod: does it remove the DoCoMo toggles if they are installed?
It seems like the SystemUI gets overwritten.
I was thinking about making a mod according to the instructions for the DoCoMo toggles but couldn't get the APK Tools installed properly (my Mac lacks some files).
The optimum solution is to get a transparent version of the DoCoMo bar.

Installation :
Download the zip pack from here
Extract it and you can found two MiHome (mihomemod1 & mihomemod2)
First you need to install mihomemod1
After it, move the four icons from the hotseat (dock) to homescreen
Now u need to change the grid size (in the launcher press menu/launcher settings/launcher/cell layout)
For user who can't found the grid settings follow the instructions on post #2
Install mihomemod2 and u're finished
NB : if u don't move the four icon and u install mihomemod2 u'll lost the four icons (phone, contact, messages and browser) on your homescreen, so read the instruction carefully.

you must rooted
you must have rootexplorer or anything else
open settings of your phone and then back to the homescreen
open your rootexplorer and goes to here /data/data/com.miui.mihome2/shared_prefs/
and open com.miui.mihome2_preferences.xml in text editor
change the grid size from 4x4 to what do u want and then save & exit
delete the com.miui.mihome2_preferences.bak
press and hold the home button to open recent app and choose the settings
goes to /settings/manage application/ find mihome launcher then force stop
check the grid of homescreen, u must sure the grid has been change
now install mihomemod2 without cleardata

You may try Greg's advice or you may try this manually as well:
- decompile your SystemUI.apk
- go to /res/layout/ and open navigation_bar.xml, find this line:
Code:
<com.android.systemui.statusbar.phone.NavigationBarView android:background="#ff000000" android:layout_width="fill_parent" android:layout_height="fill_parent" android:directionality="none"
and changed android:background="#ff00000"
to
android:background="@drawable/nav_bar_bg"
Then, put your desired png image named nav_bar_bg(or any other name of your liking as long as it matches the same name that you put in navigation_bar.xml) in drawable-xhdpi
Or if you want it to point to a color(instead of a PNG image), declare it in drawables.xml instead(located under /res/values folder), then add the below line:
Code:
<item type="drawable" name="nav_bar_bg">#ff000000</item>
the above sample color is 100% black, choose any color you want, e.g. #ff33b5e5(holo blue), all in HEX CODE ofc.
Recompile as system app, done.
Attached sample navigation bar PNG image. I got it from a Sense theme, size is 542x56.

my apologies, you are correct, its the dock bar that you can change in that.
However, @Rycon33 has given you your solution.

You may try Greg's advice or you may try this manually as well:
- decompile your SystemUI.apk
- go to /res/layout/ and open navigation_bar.xml, find this line:

Base from your screenshot, you may want to fix the big "back" button as well. It's also on navigation_bar.xml. Remove android:scaleType=“center" for the "back" in KeyButtonView code line.

It's indeed really better like that. Thanks a lot.
I'd like to get a "darker" transparency for my notification bar. How to determine the appropriate hex color code ??
