MisterSir69,
This is an odd problem. What method did you use to Root the Kindle? Once you give us this information
maybe I can back out what happened. Let's give you a little information that may help solve the problem.
What keeps the Kindle awake is either touching the screen or an application that has a "keep alive"
feature. A good example of Keep alive, it when we install remote access software on a customer computer
we always tell the software to not allow Windows to go to sleep so we can access it and perform
maintenance at night. Did you install some software after you Rooted the kindle? What software
did you install?

MisterSir69,
What I would do is install a solid Process Manager like Android Process Manager, then reboot the Kindle, wait
about 5 minutes, do not do anything on the Kindle for 5 minutes. Then open the Process Manager and see
what is running. Then kill one by one until the Kindle falls asleep. I would set the Display Sleep Timer at
the lowest setting so you do not have to wait long between each process.

Great work MisterSir69! I knew you would be able to figure out which service was causing you trouble.:good:
Yes, we have seen wallpaper, specifically live wallpaper, disable the sleep mode on Android devices.
This is a real bug, when you have time send the results to the developer, if you know the source.
You can usually find the developers contact information in Google Play.

Is there a way to remedy this? If I let my NC fall asleep while it's running a non-stock launcher ( I've tried LauncherPro, Go Launcher, and I'm currently using Zeam) it won't wake up. I have to power it back on to bring it back to life. Is this a normal problem that people have been having? I've looked through other threads but haven't seen anyone mention it.

Never happened to me and I have been using a 3rd party launcher since early december. I would do a factory reset then update then root with auto nooter
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=880785
Unlikely anything to do with third party launchers, read that thread. And this wiki page covers it. http://www.nookdevs.com/NookColor_Issues
i have a fix for you and anyone who might have this problem
The problem lies with the soft menu keys not the launcher. My nook would reset after every sleep with wifi on. It was really worrying me. Somhow i realized it had to do with the soft keys that come with the autonooter. Remove that apk and install from the market button savior. It will save your nook
Let me know if it worked for you. I haven't had any problems after this change.
I'm using Button Savior and still get very frequent random reboots.
The only thing that seems to have stopped my reboots is the Settings Profile Lite that turns off wifi when my screen is off. I'm at 1 day 22 hrs 44 min and counting. Before that, I was consistently rebooting at least once every 24 hours, if not more.
I'm trying the Settings Profile Life method. I'll let the internet know how it went.

Interesting find.... I'm going to take this idea another direction and see if I can recreate it with Tasker.
Use SpareParts to set WiFi sleep to never. If using SetCPU and the problem still persists, you may wish to (temporarily) uninstall to see if the problem goes away. If so, it was likely the program, settings used, profiles, etc. My NC doesn't do this when it goes to sleep with the WiFi on running Zeam. The battery stats often show 3 days before I end up charging it. If I didn't use it as much as I do, it would likely show up as longer.
I installed Settings Profile Life. It's been working great. I haven't had a reboot since. Thanks for the advice.

I fear that we are only dealing with the smoke and not the fire when controlling the Wifi in this manner.
I had a semi-brick that took a whole day to fix and re-do. Upon re-rooting, I used AutoNooter and a modified version of the Auto Config script that excluded : (copied from my other post)
-YouTube removal (not sure why we are even removing it and I have a suspicion that removal may be causing the issues... Was YouTube only included in the Autonooter to allow entry of Google Account?)
-SoftKeys removal & LauncherPro installation
-Boot Animation change
-A bunch of the installed apps including Facebook, taskkiller, quickboot, vol master.
I've been reboot free for 21+ hours now, where I used to get them about once an hour or so. (BTW, I haven't touched the wifi settings, I have SoftKeys 3.0.0 running, no setCPU, haven't visited The Store, and I use ADW Launcher EX)

Oh, absolutely. Setting Profiles is just a Band-Aid. The underlying problem is still there and AFAIK no progress has been made in identifying it. I expect it's being caused by one of the many unnecessary things have been rolled into the automatic rooting scripts but have no way to identify it since my NC has turned into a very late Christmas gift that I still don't have yet.
In any case, I think the rooting scripts need to be greatly simplified down to the bare essentials to get root and nothing else, and then have optional additional scripts to add the various other things that some people want and others don't. So long as the rooting and feature-additions are being combined into a single package, it's going to be pretty hard to narrow this down.

So use the script to root it, not auto-nooter, and see if it also happens. You, or someone..... For me, I'm getting a pretty steady 2 days of uptime, and it's still 100% stable while using it, so it's good enough for me.
Just bought my first Nexus phone yesterday used of Amazon. Worked fine for the first hour then was prompted to update to 5.0.1. After the update the phone display will turn off randomly for a second every 5-10seconds (display turns off (not dims not locks). Dose not happen in bootloader and still happens even after flash installing 6.0.1 and Android N. The issue only happens for the first 20-30min after boot. It almost seems like an application that only runs the first 30min after boot is crashing the phones gpu. Anyone had this issue or have any insight?

I agree with the previous poster (Mike... ).
If you can't find a software cause, it may possible a hardware issue.
Some hardware problems are temperature related. Shutdown and cool down the phone.
A few minutes in the freezer. Than restart the phone.
Ever since the last July security update, when I try to use any number of apps from capital one too smart select with my s pen, I get it asking permissionas then coming up saying I need to turn screen overlay off. This is an os permission that many programs use. Unless I turn it off on every app, I cannot give the current apps permissions. However summarily turning them off screws up those apps.
Is Is anyone else having this problem?

Does anyone have problems downloading with google play??
The problem happened around 3 days ago. I was trying to download something when it said "connection timed out, please try again after some time". After a few hours still I cannot load google play nor download anything
I have tried all the solutions possible for google play, service and framework ( clear cache, uninstall updates, remove accout, reboot, clear dalvik) but the connection only works in the beginning then after like 2 mins then "connection timed out" again appears.
For sure my internet connection is strong and I'm sure my ISP is not blocking google play because I can access it via web. What's weird is when I use a VPN, google play all of a sudden works flawlessly.. can anyone help me in diagnosing where exactly is the problem?
I have the same exact problem on my galaxy note 8!. My Google play store won't load anything if I'm on Wi-Fi or on cellular Data!!
But with the VPN it works!
I had a similar problems. I got the Samsung Disconnect Pro app when it was free. I installed that then had the same problems. Turned it off and everything was good. After a day turned it on and now working correctly.

Try looking at your power options, it might be sleeping wifi (im presuming it happening on wifi). The VPN thing might solve it cause VPN usually does not sleep wifi properly

Anyway thanks for the inputs guys, I found the culprit and it has to do with an app I downloaded and installed outside the playstore coz it was not available in my country. Once I uninstalled it the playstore came back to normal.

I cannot confirm anything you describe. It's either caused by a bad or disabled application or possibly faulty hardware. Test your phone at Safe Mode to see if the restarts stop. If so, you need to find out which app is causing it.

Can confirm. It happens to me as well. Not everyday. It is completely random. Happened twice today. After I charged it. Don't know if charging it is connected somehow to the issue. Every android phone I buy just has some odd quirks. No more. After this one I'm done. You barely see any problems like this with an iPhone.

If you did any firmware update flashes since getting it, factory reset.
At least clear the system cache...
A hard reset may also get it.

Yeah leave that junk turned off... power management is known to cause erratic behavior as well.
How it's going with the random reboots? Do you still have a problem or turning off "auto optimise daily" fixed it?

This is not normal behavior.
If it's under warranty now might be the time... at least get the documentation started.
Have you cleared the system cache?
Try in Safe Mode as pointed it maybe a 3rd party apk; power management apps and 3rd party launchers are prime candidates. Anything that runs in the background when the screen is off.
Factory reset time...
If that doesn't get try replacing the sim card and removing the SD card if any.
If you still can't find it try reflashing the firmware.
It maybe a hardware failure... and intermittent ones can be the hardest to track down.

I'm using Nova Prime, I haven't noticed any reboots but there has been occasions where the fingerprint scanner was switched back to code unlock like it had just booted up. I'll check up time if it happens again.
Latest free from Play store. 6.2.18.

Might want to quit while you're ahead. A buggy 3rd party launcher is a sure fire way to crash and burn a Android OS. Boot looped twice by one on my stock Note 10+.

While I found that it's not better than the native One UI launcher, Nova Launcher didn't boot loop my 10+ into oblivion... lol, a definite plus.
What I found was it was slower and that I lost some features I liked with One UI. It used a lot more battery but some of that was due to tweaking it, but even when I wasn't adjusting it's settings it's battery usage was high. One UI unlike some of Sammy's past launchers is a fast and very stable launcher... hard to beat.
Samsung's are very customizable in their stock configuration, other makes not near as much so.
So yeah I get why you might want use a 3rd party launcher and Nova is at the top of the candidates. Not being at the mercy of every new flavor of OS and native launcher is also more harmonious and productive... so yeah, I get it.
I don't use Nova launcher and I have random reboots. What I' ve noticed is that the reboots were happening when I wasn't using the phone for a while. Also when the phone turned back on an application was active in notification curtain. In the beginning it was TuneIn although I had it force stopped from settings everytime I was using it. After I uninstalled it I didn't had any incident for quite a while. Two days ago I had a lot of reboots in a day. The app working after the reboots was always Samsung Accessory Service, I have Galaxy Watch 3 also. My guess is that the UI is trying to kill an app and it crashes. When I find some time I 'll try a factory reset with fresh install cause my current set up is based on settings from my previous phone (LH V30).
