[Q][Solved]Xperia V ?bricked - Sony Xperia T, TL, TX, V

Hi, people.
I pressed and hold the power button to turn it on. I can feel the vibration, but that's all it did. Here is what happened:
I had successfully unlocked the bootloader and flashed an unsecured kernel.
I was trying to flash a FTF into my Xperia V using Flash Tool by Sony. Both are stock FTF, and so I didn't wipe.
However, I was stuck at the Sony logo upon reboot.
I could still enter fastboot.
So on fastboot, I typed erase system and reflashed the FTF.
When it didn't work, I tried another FTF and I still got stuck at the Sony logo upon reboot.
And so on fastboot, I typed fastboot erase system, fastboot erase userdata], and fastboot erase boot.
I reflashed a FTF.
After disconnecting the device from my PC, I pressed and hold the power button to turn it on. I can feel the short vibration that indicates it's turning on.
And it got stuck there.
Please help me get my phone up, please?

Which kernel did you flash? Can you share the post where you downloaded it from?
Which ftf are you flashing? Can you share the post where you downloaded it from and exactly which one?

The FTF I used is from
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2092287
And the kernel is
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=34893663#post34893663
It should be compatible, I think.

Should be, but try flashing this ftf http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024430
Flash the kernel again if fastboot, then the ftf in flashtool (Flashmode) but exclude kernel.
Let me know if it works

I installed the same kernel again and manage to see the Sony logo at boot. But it's still stuck there.
I'll see what else I can do...
EDIT> I see your reply now. I'll try that if I fail again.

I couldn't download that FTF as the free download link limit has been reached. I do not wish to get a premium account for that.
I just erased boot and userdata in Fastboot.
Just finished flashing kernel using Sony's Flash Tool and now the Singapore-based FTF again.

Hi Gregbradley.
I figured how to use Flashtool in Flash Mode. By doing that, the phone revived. And I am now able to access the ROM.
Thanks a lot for your input. I appreciate it very much. =)

Glad to hear it.
But you dont have to say thanks on this forum. If you ever feel the need to offer your thanks, just the thanks button, thats what it is for.

[Solved] Entering the recovery menu not working. Any suggestions?

Hi guys. I have a sony xperia t and i forgot my screen lock pin. i tried to find how to unlock it over the internet but none of the ways is working. If i connect it ot a computer and try to use the Sony PC Companion it says that the screen has to be unlocked. If i try to enter the recovery menu by holding the volume button and the power button it just vibrates 3 times and doesn't switch on at all. Any suggestions?

enter recovery by turning off. Then turn on and only when you see the sony logo repeatedly press the volume up button.
What you are doing is the hard reset.
You could restore a backup you made before making the pin, of just do a factory reset. You will lose all your data, but you will be able to get into the phone.
Pressing once is sufficient, if done at the right time.
If on stock, while the sony logo is displayed, wait for the notification led to turn violet. When violet, press and hold volume-up. This will bring you to recovery.
To retain your data, provided you rooted, you could try to get your /data folder via ADB. Or make a backup (tar, not dup!), format the phone and then manually extract the contents of the .tar file and restore your data.
hi guys and thanks for the replies. i can't make it work. it's locked to 3 if that makes a difference. i start pressing the volume up button when the sony logo appears but the phone just boots normally and the led light doesnt even flash.

Have you rooted in the past?
Have you installed a recovery?
The phone does not come with a factory installed recovery.
Yes, it sounds like you have not installed recovery, in which case flashtool is your best bet, but you will wipe the phone if you flash an ftf.

doesn't the phone need to be with debugging mode switched on to use flashtool? i had a look at a few threads but all of them say that i have to have debugging on. i cant access my phone so that's a bit of a problem...
Yes it does...my only suggestion now is to take it back to the shop. If you forgot the unlock they must have a way of factory resetting the handset
EDIT, My mistake, the only thing you can do in flashtool with usb debugging off is flash stock FTF's
Well, the phone does come with a stock recovery that does miss out on all the great CWMR features but should offer wiping facilities. Every Android device does or should. Doesn't it?
For flashmode, usb debugging is not needed, as the phone boots into a state separated and independent of the OS and kernel.

xperia phones do not come with a built in recovery.
Flashtool does not require you to be in usb dubbing mode in order to flash.
right..i tried to flash it using the latest(i think) version of flashtool (0.9.9.0)..downloaded an ftf file and tried but i can't make it work. when it asks me to boot the phone it shows me the instructions for xperia x10, so i dont know whats the combination of buttons in order to boot it. help would be much appreciated. thanks
Read the instructions on Greg's q&a thread, all in one guide. It's easy to follow and there are numerous explanations on how to use flashtool.
Make sure you have placed an ftf in the firmware folder for flashtool and follow the instructions on Greg's guide.

Yes, the Q&A thread is a good read.
But with the latest flashtool you can drag and drop ftf files into the open window withoout having them in the firmware folder.
You get a picture of the x10 because flashtool was originally developed for the x10 but the instructions to enter flashmode are found in the q7a thread. Icould tell you here but that will mean you miss the opportunity to read the first 3 posts in that thread that have most (If not all) your questions answered.

[SOLVED] HELP PLZ! xperia TL in eternal bootloop

Can s/o please point me in the right direction? I have a brand new Xperia TL. I followed the directions on the All-In-One Readme thread to root the phone, which came with locked bootloaders. Then I tried flashing the rom- [AOKP][JB] Xperia T - KangXperiaProject - [milestone 1].
Then the phone turned off, and when I turned it on all that happened was the Sony boot logo came up, then a fuzzy/staticky screen with random colors, then the phone shuts off, and then turns on again, and then the same thing. The battery isn't removable so I can't do a battery pull.
I managed to get the phone into Flash mode for Flashtool, tried flashing a kernel, but nothing happened. I tried all the different key combos to get into recovery, but no dice. I was actually lucky that once it remained stable long enough to flash a kernel, but usually when it's connected to the comp it won't stay on long enough to do much of anything. I also tried accessing the phone with an ADB shell, but that won't read the phone.
I also searched and searched and searched for possible solutions, but can't seem to find any posts (on XDA or otherwise) that deal with this specific set of issues.
Any help would be tremendously appreciated!!
You cannot flash custom rooms that are not stock based with a locked bootloader.
That is because you cannot flash custom kennels with a locked bootloader.
Flash a stock ftf with flashtool to fix your phone.
To do a virtual battery pull then press and hold the power button and volume up button until the phone vibrates

How do I customise the signature on xda premium app?
Thanks for the info. I tried flashing a stock ftf (I think the LT30_7.0.A.3.195_kernel.ftf you provide in the readme thread), but then it just want back to bootlooping.
Is there a different one I should flash? Or is there something else I could do? Meanwhile, I'll try flashing again when I get home today.

I flashed the ftf again- the phone still bootloops, but sometimes it show an image of a phone and the triangle with the ! in the middle- which I know is Download Mode on my old phone (Samsung Captivate). Is this what's supposed to happen? If yes, what's the next step? If not, what else can I do?

TL version
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=33744425&postcount=56
Thank you gregbradley and hkjr.
I was having trouble flashing an ftf b/c the phone kept shutting off in the middle of a flash. What I did was flash (the T version) piece-meal; I checked "Exclude" for all the components except the 1st, flashed, then checked "Exclude" for all except the 2nd, flashed, etc., and IT WORKED!!
Then I flashed the TL version ftf, rooted it, and all was good. Now it was time to flash a custom rom. I flashed recoba23's Xperia Curiosity V1.2 Rom (for locked bootloaders). That worked. Then I wanted to take a look at TiMiN8R's XperimenT rom. The phone told me that the file finished downloading. I thought it was a little smaller than indicated on the download page, but the phone said the download was complete. Flashed it. Then BRICK. Dunno if it's because the full file didn't download, but now ALL I get is the Sony splash screen (no bootloop, just stays like that). I can't get into recovery and I can't get the phone into flash mode, although the computer does recognize it when I plug it in and I can access the files on the phone.
Any ideas what's going on??
same problem please help =(
I too have the same problem, stuck at "SONY" screen can't go to recovery mode, can't connect to pc, i did the power+up volume button, turns off but if i turn it on same result stuck at sony... I followed this method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2020796 for locked bootloader, i have the att xperia TL.
I flashed the generic 7.0.A.1.303 ftf
Rooted using Bin4ry's method
Install CMW for locked bootloaders
Enter recovery, factory reset and flash the ROM(STOCK ROOTED 7.0.A.3.195)
and when im going to flash the flashable CMW, i cant find it in my ext sd.. i put it with stock rooted 7.0.A.3.195.zip and superuser.zip, it says "file not found" on recovery after i flashed the stock 7.0.A.3.195.zip so i decided to reboot.. and this happened. Is there a fix to this please help us :crying:
OK, I got my phone back up and running! For me, it just seemed to be a matter of playing around with the buttons and the plugging/unplugging the phone from the computer and/or charging it, and eventually it went into flash mode. I was able to flash stock kernel, root and apply CWM, then made sure that I downloaded the whole file for whichever ROM I wanted, flashed it, and all was good!
fatedcircle9, just try playing around with it. If you can't flash the new CWM from recovery right after you install the ROM, just reboot the phone, attach it to the computer, and install CWM like you did before. At least that's what worked for me....

If you don't share information forget any help.
"ive got flash tool but think i need the new one as my phone wont flash any roms or kernal but i can get them in flashboot and fastboot mode."
What? If you can enter in these modes, then you should be able to flash the stock rom. Why did you say "my phone wont flash..." Is it special phone?
The rest of your post, Galaxy S3 comparison, 5 hours in sony logo (of course, if you don't flash the stock rom you will be even more than 5 hours...)... is not providing anything for us to help you.
You can try to waste 5 minutes to write down everything you have done, everything you tried, with results... or you can cry during posts and posts because your phone is not working.
Good luck!
From what I understand, he is not sure what version of flashtool to use.
If so, the correct one would be: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162907
- Enter fastboot mode (blue light) and flash a STOCK FTF using flashtool.

Sony xperia sp c5306 hard reset

Hello all!
Ok so i just got my daughter the c5306 sp on virgin about 2 weeks ago. Her friend decides to show her the mcafee app and inputs a fake email and pin.
the phone is now LOCKED!
Literally can't do anything NOR can i find a hard reset option. i tried several key combination hoping for android recovery but NADA!
And the pc companion, useless in this situation as it needs me to unlock the phone for it to work... oh and that reset button on the back... crud!
any help, anyone know how to get to android recovery?
any help is much appreciated
the sony xperia range don't have a stock recovery built in unless cwm recovery was installed and rooted before your daughter was shown/given the phone.
If it was try shutting phone down then restart and start pressing (repeatedly) vol down to enter recovery but this will only help if a backup was made which you can restore if no backup exists you to follow the next step.
If not you need to shut down phone then either use sus,PCC,flashtools to reflash the phone.
I would recommend flashtools and find the ftf you need on Sp forum then use this to get phone back working

Omg this is amazing help!
Ok so I have flash tools, is there a specific way to use it, the instructions are a little unclear.
So SP forums and get stock tft to flash with flash tools? Ok I'll try to get ahold of it! Thank you

You can find the stock .ftf files here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2311964
You download and open flashtool (from here depending on your PC OS :http://flashtool.net/ )
Shut your phone down
From flashtool press the lighning button
Then select flashmode and press ok
Select the .245.ftf file (its the latest kernel released by Sony that you downloaded from the link above)
And then press flash
then it will open a new window showing a phones a usb cable and a back button
With your phone powered down you hold the "Volume Down" button down and while holding plug the Usb cable to your phone
It will take some time flashing the data and then it will say "Phone Connected in flashmode"
Disconect and boot the phone
This procces could Hard brick your phone so be careful and follow the steps!!!
If you are not willing to take the chance just do it with SUS
open it then go to update phone/tablet
fix phone/tablet and follow the instructions on the screen
But it will be ok i flashed kernel 4 times to my phone (for rooting it)
Good Luck
you can use SUS to reflash the fimware

[Q] Xperia SP struck on sony logo. Please help!!

Hi guys, big fan here. I have been hanging around here for quite some time now but this is my first post
I was trying to put CM11 on my phone. After taking a backup in TWRP when i tried to put CM11 there suddenly the logs declared that system partition cannot be read. I am on a unlocked boot loader. I did try to use a backup but the same error that system partition is not readable popped up. Then I rebooted the phone only to find that its forever stuck on the Sony logo with a red light. I read up and found that I can flash a .ftf file to do things right. Just now I found that my phone stays in flash mode only for a small time and then again starts to show that crap Sony splash screen.
Can some kind developer or enthusiast like myself please help me??

Ok. Download the stock kernel for your Xperia device and place it inside Flashtool folder . Make sure your device is switched off and open Flashtool on your PC. Connect your phone by holding VOLUME DOWN Button until green LED lights up. You have your device connected in fastboot mode now. As you said that your phone restarts after a minute so you gotta be fast , quickly hit the smart lighting button and select Fastboot mode on Flashtool and select kernel to flash. Once the kernel starts flashing wait for it to finish and voila you're done.

2. Downloaded Doomkernel.
3. Flashed using flashtool.
4. After flashing this kernel I was able to boot into recovery (philz touch).
5. System partition still couldn't mount. I read somewhere that formatting it can help. As does unmounting everything else.
6. Mounted system and flashed Existenz rom again.
