I would like to know how to autosync the s-note between devices. I have a gnote original and gnote 10.1
Samsung account has an option for autosync for s-note. However i have noticed that the notes are not sync between devices..
Anyone know how to make it work properly.. If possible I would like to avoid dropbox option.
Thanks for any replies
I've been working on that too. The solutions I found:
1) Install a JB leak on the Galaxy Note. SNotes should be synced with Samsung Account and you will be able to view/edit them on both devices.
2) If it doesn't work or you don't want to install a JB leak, use a folder syncing app like Folder Sync, and sync the SNote folder on the SD card with Google Drive or Dropbox. It should be setup the same way on both devices. However, if you are using ICS on the Galaxy Note, you will only be able to see the notes created on the Note 10.1, not edit them (it blanks the page when you do that). I think that's because of version differences.

Hello,
Since upgrading to Gingerbread I've been dealing with lots of issues regarding calendar. I'm using few calendars in google (private, public holidays, etc.) but when I setup the calendar synchronization I can see only my private calendar and the phone default (My Calendar). I've been reading that a lot of people have this issue so I decided to dig a little bit deeper. Finally I found a solution!
If you have a problem with displaying multiple google calendars in your phone follow this procedure:
Prerequisities:
* rooted phone (you'll need to access system file)
* SQLite Editor
Steps:
1. Make a backup of calendar data (just in case you'll need it in the future).
2. Go to Settings->Application-Manage Apllications.
3. Find following apps and delete their data: Calendar, Calendar Storage, Calendar Synchronization (or similar name).
4. Reboot your phone (not required, but flushing memory is not a bad thing)
5. Go to Settings->Accounts and Synchronization and synchronize your google calendar.
6. Open /dbdata/databases/com.android.providers.calendar/calendar.db with SQLite Editor or any other program that can edit SQLite data.
In fact you may use this procedure (as SQL Lite Editor is not free):

7. Open Calendars table.
8. If everything is OK you should see a list of google calendars you have. To enable missing calendars edit columns selected and sync_events. Put 1 to enable synchronization and display.
9. Save changes to the database.
10. Go to Settings->Accounts and Synchronization and synchronize your google calendar.
Now you should see list of all your google calendars and you can add events to different calendars.

Thank you for sharing, I am having the same problem.
I have opened
Code:
/dbdata/databases/com.android.providers.calendar/calendar.db
using SQLite explorer but the file looks empty, it shows only "null".
Try to synchronize first your main google calendar. It will create all necessary tables.

I did that, it did synchronize the calendars, I could see the events. I rebooted, used the "Sync Now" function but still nothing. Maybe it's the app SQLite explorer which is not working. Unfortunately I could not find any other alternative, SQLite Editor is not free
I haven't had a single issue using cm7 or regular AOSP when it comes to the calendar. What issues are you having?

I have been using CM7 for some time and I confirm I did not have any problem with Calendars when using it.
The problem appears on the stock rom (both on JVP and JVQ) and is the same skibbi_pl reported on the first message of this post: some calendars do not sync. I have 12 calendars on my Google Account online, but only 3 show up in Settings / Calendars.
Ok, I solved it: the problem was the SQLite explorer app which doesn't work.
I used aSQLiteManager, but had first to copy calendar.db to the sdcard, modify it and the copy it back to its original position (for copying I used Super Manager).
After reboot all Calendars appeared correctly. Thanks again!
The final question is: why does this happen on the stock rom and on Cyanogen not?

Ask Samsung developers It seems like they forgot to add some UI controls for enabling additional calendars.
My sync-problem is that, after I flashed at the end of july to DarkyRom v10, the birthdays of my Google-contacts and National Holidays only appear for 1 year ahead (so till 25 july 2012).
aSQLiteManager says in the column selected and sync_events all 1.
What can be the problem?
x10 2.3.3 calendar issue
Hi, I didn't find any other threads, more similar to my problem. i have an x10 upgraded to gingerbread, since then I can't create any new events. I get an error message: "No Calendar. No calendars available." I searched google to find any references, with very few results. I cleared the calendar cache with no luck. I tried installing several calendar apps, which are supposed to be working separately from the stock app, but I got the same error message when trying to create a new event.
Thanks for your help in advance,
Jocks
Just did this today.
Been pulling my hair out over this calendar problem for the last few days. This method works perfectly on my SPH-D710.
I know this is an old thread but wanted to thank the OP for this solution. I ran into the calendars problem and this method worked perfectly. I used a program called SQLite Database Browser (Windows 7) to edit calendars.db, which I downloaded from sourceforge.net for free. Thank you!
Also, to share the db file I first had to change the permissions from rw- rw- --- to rwx rwx rwx. That allowed me to gmail the file to myself or upload to google drive. After editing it, I had to go through my external sdcard to copy it on there and then copy it over using ES file explore to the appropriate directory. I reset permissions to rw- rw- --- just to make sure (no idea if that was necessary).
Hello everyone,
I forget my Galaxy Note S Memo pin code. how to reset the pin?
please help
thanks
Hi
please help

Complete wipe maybe but you will loose your datas, or contact samsung ?
first sync your smemo with evernote or googlenote (to backp your memos/notes)
then go to the smemo directory on your phone and delete it.
(need root)
then restart smemo and enter a new password.
This will allow you to use smemo with new lock again.
I even found out, that when syncing with evernote the lock was gone on those notes. But this was on GB, I am not sure if it is the same on ICS
I assume you have root access.
Get a Root File Browser which can open .db files. I used: Root Browser. Make sure you download the plugins at first run. (2-3MB in size)
Browse to: /data/user/0/com.sec.android.app.memo/databases/
Open Memo.db
Open memo_content
Go to C2CONTENT tab, each entry here is a line of your memo. You should see as many entries as the number of total lines in all your memos. Theres your data!
PS: In case the path I wrote above is not the same for your phone, the idea is to find the memo app data in /data/user.
It's very annoying.
There is no way to open it if you forgot the pin.
Even if you don't need the files anymore and delete them, they keep coming back because Samsung server restore the files and puts them back.
So, you can either create a new Samsung account and start from scratch OR use a root explorer (EX File Explorer) and hide the file. It won't show on S Memo or S Note anymore.

I would like to actively use SNote to take Notes and such but I wonder if all the notebooks and notes will be wiped when I flash a new ROM. Does the default Google account sync those notes and restore them after a new ROM is flashed?
I know there are manual ways to sync notes to Google docs and Evernote, but it's not the same, and I would rather have all my notebooks restored automatically after a new ROM flash.

Does anyone know? How do people sync their notebooks from SMemo so that it can be restored?

I'm guessing you are talking about going from Touchwiz ICS roms to one another. S Note isn't compatible with any CM9 rom. If you wipe data each time, they won't be there, but it may sync back up, but I'm not 100% sure cause I don't use it and am not on a stock Touchwiz rom.
When I use Titanium backup to restore SMemo the memo that was created before will not seen in preview page until edit it again.
Anyone has experience like this?
I haven't found anything through search on the web, so if someone knows more about syncing notebooks in SNote and SMemo, I would appreciate that information or pointers.

I did NOT wipe last time i changed between 2 ICS roms and my snote/memo stuff stayed. Go with titanium if your worried about losing it or are going to do a full wipe. in /mnt/sdcard there should be S Note and S Memo folders.
It would be great to have an app to automatically sync the notes instead to manually having to sync them, also to a Dropbox folder or something
Taking S-Pen notes on the device should be great, but since they are stuck in the device (and not in the cloud, unless you manually sync them), it's pretty inconvenient.
Restore through Titanium works, but you loose the preview renders in the note list.
Read somewhere that you also need to back up the /Sdcard/S-memo folder, and then replace it with your backup after flashing a new ROM.
The order should be: 1. Restore app or just data through Titanium, 2. Restore the folder manually. Haven't tried it myself yet, but it makes sense...
hi. i need some help. i have Samsung Galaxy S. instal Android 4.0.4 Dark Knight 3 on my phone. before i had Android 2.3.4. i backup my contacts and now i can't restore it. my phone doesn't connect to kies. how can i fix it?
Custom roms can not connect to kies! You should've known this by now.
The best way is to save your contacts in google account. Search in the kies folder the extension of that backup, if it was saved in .csv you just have to import it in google and that's it, if not, bad luck.

Synchronize Your contacts with Google Account. It is really helpful! And after installing a fresh ROM contacts are downloaded automatically - so You won't even see the difference.

you can restore you contacts by using file manager
1) launch file manager
2) select the file xxx.vcf
3) your contacts will import to you phone.
hope this will help, good luck.
I don't see CONTACTS in my Sync options in Galaxy Gear. How can I get CONTACTS on my Galaxy Gear?
My Tablet Talk can't access my contacts; when I click on the magnifying glass, it tells me "This device does not support the built in Android contact chooser"
Is there a contacts APK or something I'm missing? I exported my vcf file and put it in my Galaxy Gear SD root, but I don't know how to load it so that my Tablet Talk can see.
Please help because Tablet Talk is amazing, but I would love to be able to choose contacts and see my contact names instead of just numbers.

Install the People app via the null_ installer, then tether Internet (and spoof WiFi/Mobile if necessary), go into Settings > Accounts, and sync Contacts.

There's no way to access the option again to install components you didn't select when you first install the ROM? I guess I didn't select the PEOPLE app when I first put in the Null ROM
Is there any way you can provide the APK? I tried installing the Contact.apk from another thread, but it's for ICS and it just crashes for me. I believe I need it for Jelly Bean?

null_ ROM has a no wipe base so AFAIK you can just reflash it and choose whatever new components you need.
In the Null ROM ZIP file, it has the folder tweaks/apps/contacts/ Contacts.apk and ContactsProvider.apk
I installed Contacts.apk but it still crashes. I believe I need to install the ContactsProvider.apk as well for it to work/store contacts, but I'm having difficulty installing the Provider.apk... when I try it with MobileGo, it says authentication failed. When I try to instal it through the Galaxy Gear, it says Application not installed. Any help?

If you have custom recovery I would just make a backup, copy the backup to your PC, then re-flash null with the extra options.
If settings/whatever somehow get wiped (I'm pretty sure they don't), just restore from your backup, then you can tinker.
But I'm pretty sure it works to just install over - it'll be less time than tinkering around and possibly still ending up with a half-broken install.

There's no way to manually install the ContactsProvider.apk? I installed Contacts.apk just fine but have no idea where to place manually or successfully install ContactsProvider.apk...
Sorry, but where can I access Custom Recovery? Is that an App I have to install in the Gear? Can I just backup with MobileGo?
WOOHOO I got it to work.
I used Root Explorer and allowed access to the System folder. I just copied the ContactsProvider.apk to system/app and now I can open the Contacts App without crashing. YAY!!
