^^This^^
I used quickmute.
I muted/unmuted then did a restart. I had sound, but be sure to check your sound before starting other apps; So you can weed out which apps caused the initial sound loss.
I haven't had an issue with sound since.

Hey,
I am starting this thread to ask people about their x8 headset. The problem is the mine is quite soft in volume and even when cranked up to maximum I can't hear voices that well. Is this a shared issue or am I the only one with this problem. Input would be greatly appreciated. If I do not thank you today it is because I have reached my 8 thank limit. Is there any app people can recommend to help with this problem maybe a volume booster. I will be offline for a few days to sort out some coursework but will check back afterward.
Thankyou.
No i have not that kind of problem with my handset.
U can go and check for it if it consistently faced
Officially corp via W8

As it says in my sig. I am on the MiniCM9. I have DSP but have never used it. All it has is equalizers. It is not quality I want but volume. Thanks anyway.
On CM9 you have to lower the volume to set it higher... Yeah, it's a littlebit weird, but it is like this. So try lowering the volume to half of the maximum!

Yep lower the volume 3 to four times from the maximum. Thats quite a known bug on CM9 and 10
If it still exist using 2.3 ROMS then might have problem with you headset acessories

Thankyou very much, both of you.
Edit: I have tried this and can confirm that you are correct.
I have a S5830M with BeatsAudio and S9HD Headset. Last week while I was listening to music and using the bluetooth headset I hear a beeping noise in the bluetooth, suddenly the volume went down like hell, couldnt manage to fix it so I turn em off. Now that I try to use em again I cant manage to have the same volume as before I put volume on 100 but in the headset it hears so low. And again the beeping continous to appear now and then.
I tried flashing beatsAudio again, replacing music player, adding equializers, but no success. So im posting it here to see if someone can help me

I REALLY don't know what this could be but every time I send/receive a message through WhatsApp, the phone speaker makes a little humming noise. Could be described more as if a little fan is on. When the message is sent/received, it stops. I don't think it's because it's wifi because I checked while browsing but it doesn't make any sound. The speaker works fine and everything sounds normal which makes it even more confusing. It makes this noise during vibrate (sound off) and even when normal sound is on.
Is my phone the only one like this? It doesn't really bother. I just would like to know why and how it happens.
May be it is the only sound that gives this feeling ??

Are you sure it's not the actual sound file that WhatsApp uses when it sends and receives a message?
I can't check as I'm using SGS2 and that may use a different sound to SGA.

No guys. I'm using Volume +. And I even turned it off to check if it still happened and it did, so I know it's not the app.

Sound file? You mean change the message ringtone? I've always used the same one and just noticed this problem. And it happens when the phone is on Vibrate.
It feels wrong posting this in here but I'm not able to post on the dedicated thread as a new forum user.
I've installed the unofficial CM11 ROM by u-ra (many thanks) and it's working very well apart from a couple of minor sound related issues that I've not tested fully enough to confirm - (there seems to be a lot of echo for the caller when on speaker phone, and there's some distortion at the higher volume settings).
The reason I'm posting though is that I've found an app and action that reliably causes the phone to crash. It's the BBC iPlayer app - if I start playing any video the phone starts making a single loud tone for a while then crashes. Playing audio only with the partner BBC iPlayer Radio app works without issue.
I've attached the output from /proc/last_kmsg
Thanks again for getting CM on the mini 2 - it's a breath of fresh air after all that cruft that came with the stock phone.

Can't be helped. The problem is the amp is in bypass mode because we don't have the docs to program it properly.

I'll try to reproduce this too.
I have similar problem: when I start iGO navigation, it freezes (sometimes with single tone) and only solution to this is to force restart. Working in program is ok until I start searching GPS or start navigation.
My /proc/last_kmsg attached.

I've been able to replicate this echo with speakerphone on a couple of calls now, not sure if its anything to do with the speaker placement.
