Hi there,
I Need some testers for a cwm flashable zip i made for the kernel of the .489 firmware.
you need to be locked, i've tested unlocked myself.
send me a p.m., or just post a reply and i will get back to you
Disclaimer, I am not responsible for any damage to your phone in any way. if you decide to test my cwm flashable kernel, and you brick your device while doing it i will not take any responsibity.
Ofc. you will most likely be able to recover using PCC, but be sure u have a backup of your phone (preferably made in CWM)
Edit:
No More testers needed, test has proven itself on re-locked bootloader, unlocked bootloader and bootloader that has never been unlocked.

Hell yeah! Confirmed working on locked bootloader! I'll post the link in my thread.

hi all i am having many doubts regarding installing custom rom please help me...
my doubts are
1.Do i need to unlock my boot loader to update my baseband
2.Will the unlocked boot loader stay always so that i can flash many kernel and custom rom or do i need to unlock each time
3.After unlocking which case should i relock my baseband
i am sorry if these questions are very basic i am very much confused
1.No, it is nor required to unlock the bootloader to update the baseband.
2.Yes, it will always stay unlocked even if you restore with PC Companion or SEUS.
3.You should relock it if you are sending the phone for repair at Sony Ericsson.
First check manufacture date before proceding to unlock bootloader.

As said above, check manufacturingdate. IF above 11w29 then dont try to unlock. Chances are youll be ending upp with a brick.

If it is an offical update from SE, that doesn't need to unlock.
If it is kernel, rom bla bla bla from this FORUM, Mostly rom will need you to use the kernel, thus it is a must to unlock the bootloader.
So, if you're using original eclair, planning update it, there's is no risk except for electrical trip suddenly happen

Hey guys, I am fairly new to the android phones, (recently came from an iPhone) but I had heard so much about the freedoms with the Android os so I decided to switch.
I purchased the Sony Xperia T (LT30a) locked on the Bell mobility LTE network. I have really wanted to unlock the bootloader, so when I went in to check it said "Bootloader Unlock Allowed: NO". after some searching I read that it was my carrier preventing the bootloader from being unlocked, and that if I followed the following simple steps, it would change the message to :"Bootloader Unlock Allowed: YES". so here is what I did:
1. Flashed a Generic firmware to my phone (ICS it was a uk generic) which then changed my model number in "About phone" from LT30a to LT30p and removed all the bell branding.
2. Using an IMEI number, i was able to get an unlock code and unlocked the phones sim card to work on any network, and have tested and it does work.
the problem I am having is that even after doing this, the bootloader is still "locked" and can not be unlocked. I have taken a look at the methods for the test pin, but that involves removing the battery to view the motherboard, which sucks because this phone the battery is not removable. if anyone know a free or paid way to unlock the bootloader on the Xperia T LT30a or LT30p models, please let me know! thanks.
I dont know where you read that, but it is wrong and there is no way to change that message.
If it says no, then your bootloader can not be unlocked.
Its not Sony's fault, its not googles fault, its Bells fault for being a dev unfriendly provider.
Test point method will not work even if we could remove the battery, that loophole has been closed in 2012 devices.

ok well thank you very much! I guess my next question is.. is there any way at all to install a custom ROM such as cyanogen mod 10 ? or if you know of any better ones while my bootloader is locked?

You can only install stock based custom roms because you wony be able to flash a custom kernel with a locked bootloader. Therefore there is no hope for cyanogenmod, AOKP or MUIU
There are several in the Dev section to choose from, ranging from early ICS firmwares to the latest JB firmware.
I dont recommend Roms (Even my own) as choosing a rom should be a personal thing, but the I am currently on Timin8rs rooted and deodexed JB rom which you can flash.
You will need to root your phone in order to flash a recovery, then flash the .zip for the rom using that recovery.
Find all instructions for doing that in the All in one thread. Its the first thread in the Q&A section.
good luck and if you need extra help after reading up on what you need to do then ask. But remember to read up first!

thank you very much! hopefully sometime in the near future they come out with a way to fix this problem, and believe me, I do not blame sony at all for this
Sorry for the double post! But I just wanted to say, that if anyone needs help testing different roms and/or ways of unlocking a locked bootloader, I do have a sim unlocked xperia T and just wanted to throw this out, but if sony does not "perma lock" the bootloader, and if it is infact the carrier, then would this not prove that it is sonething in the firmware? I spoke with my sister who is a manager for a bell store here, acording to her, Bell is not authorized to open, or attempt to fix this phone, it is simply sent to sony for repairs.. Just makes me wonder because if Bell can not open the phone, then they must have used some sort of software.. I have always thought of software as "semi-permenant" that it can be reversed , and that its only a matter of figuring out how to reverse it?

Hey,
I just had a thought this morning regarding the situation with Locked bootloader's that can't be unlocked is it possible to flash a stock ftf file which originally allowed the bootloader to be unlocked to a locked phone, if it is possible using this method can someone give me a stock ftf which has the original unlockable bootloader and I will try it.
I hope someone knows the answer to my question
You can flash the FTF, but it will not make a non-unlockable bootloader into an unlockable one. It is not that simple. If it was, don't you think it would be common knowledge and the recommended course of action?

those who want to try something with locked bootloader sent me a pm!
Maybe I have a method to root for locked bootloaders, I can't test it because I don't have the device (would love to have it though), so I need testers

Thank you for your reponse fast, which sound risks them of boatloader
Rooting status:
Bootloader unlock allowed: NO
It means that I cannot the root?
Unfortunately your device cannot be unlocked. At least not for free. I remember someone who offered unlocking these phones for a price. But due to the fact that XDA Dev's saw it as not complying with their rules, they kinda shunned upon the specific person and his activities.
Anyhow, about what Krabappel posted, unfortunately it does not work. I have given this tool a try and it keeps on failing when trying to run the pwn binary. I have also tried to run the binary in various modes, but still to no avail. The thing is I cannot find the source code for this binary for me to be able to take a look at it and see if there is something to be changed for it to work on the SP.

In our development section two threads are there. One is cwm and another one is autoroot kernel without cwm.. Which one should i flash.? My bootloader is unlocked.. I need root and cwm.. And i am in the latest . 257 build. I know that the autoroot kernel is build from the old update...if i flash the kernel my new update will gone? Hope u understand... Or should i wait for doom kernel later...
The kernel and the Rom is the same, but different.
On Xperia's they are flashed on 2 different occasions. So by flashing an older kernel, you wont lose the system updates of the 257 update, but if Sony made changes to the kernel from 211 to 257 those will be lost. When I was developing for the Active, I always used .42 as my Kernel sources, because I found them to be more battery efficient, but my system sources were .68.
TL: DR. Flash it you're gonna be OK. I would go for the CWM. The prerooted kernel only gives you root privileges, but doesn't have CWM, which gives you the ability to flash custom ROMs and Backup/Restore your Rom.
So the cwm kernel have autoroot function too? If i flash cwm kernel i will get both. Root and cwm. Right?
U know any changes from .211 kernel and .257 kerenel?
Normally yes, developers implement autoroot on CWM enabled Kernels. Now for this one I dont know. Im still locked so I haven't tried it out.

There is autoroot in the kernel with CWM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2292716).
I flashed it and everything works OK. Just need to install superuser or supersu app from market and update su binary.

Good day guys, how do I check if my bootloader is locked on my stock phone? Ive tried power + vol up or down but its no go
tnx
Open up Dialer. Type in *#*#7378423#*#*. Go to Service Info -> Configuration -> check the Bootloader Unlock Allowed: If it's a No, then you cannot unlock the bootloader. If it says yes you can use the sony developer website to do so.
Anyone tried unrooting SP using update service setup?
In this video, Xperia Z is unrooted using it!

And guys just check if this app works for SP for installing CWM!!
x-Parts:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pvy.CWMinstaler
The issue is not unrooting the device, but rooting it to start with
X-parts will only work if you have busy box and su binaries. So far no tool (modded or not) has worked for me. I might be missing something, but AFAIK there is no way to root without unlocking the bootloader.

I am not allowed to post on MoKee thread so I will post my question here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761807
I am not a newbie and have been following XDA for 6 different devices and more than 5 years. But I just didn't post enough.
I am currently on SONY Xperia ZR (C5502) 4.4.2 (rooted). I have been trying to flash MoKee 4.4x for the past few weeks but in vain. I bricked my device few time already by trying and have to revital it with all kind of tools (Flashtool, Sony Update Service, fastboot).
I guess now my question is - "Does MoKee ROM requires Unlock Bootloader?" In the last post of that thread, someone said that it MUST be Unlock Bootloader. Is that true? The only reason I care so much about this is because I screwed up my device every time I unlocked it.
I was using the "fastboot.exe -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0xKEY" method.
I am currently using 10.5.A.0.230.
Your answer will be really appreciated.

Yes just like any other rom out there you will need an unlocked bootloader. The reason is because you have to flash a custom recovery such as CWM and to do that you need to unlock your bootloader. I recommend unlocking you bootloader using flashtool instead of the command. Because it is just easier. When I was trying to unlock my bootloader I experienced problems doing it the way with the cmd. And what problems does it give you after unlocking and how does it screw your device? Thanks!!
PS: Try flashing a custom recovery because maybe your bootloader is already unlocked.:good:

I have installed -=[XZDualRecovery]=- with locked bootloader, so I don't think the reason is about the flashing of the recovery, maybe is something related with kernel flashing. but I'm not sure.

Yes, I have confirmed that it REQUIRES Unlock Bootloader to install MoKee.
I unlocked my bootloader with Flashtool this time, instead of commend line this time. That fixed the problem I used to have.
But I used the CWM comes with XZDualRecovery to install MoKee 4.4.4. It works out fine.
