[Q] Side Sensors - LG Optimus Black

Hi,
I remember that Froyo, not sure if Gingerbread too, had a gesture that when you double hitted a side of the phone, it chaged the music.
Is there a possibility to bring it back to ICS?
Could we modify them to open an app or something?
Thank you

Yes it is possible. But you have to look up to apk professionals.

actually the side sensors is called gyroscope... The gesture about changing music on Froyo and gingerbread only work with the default music player..
Also there was the cool feature about moving the cursor when tapping the left and right side.
Apparently these features are inexistent in ICS :S I really wished someone could implement these features ...

This would be nice on ics
Its really nice feature on zeus gb when tapping left/right in gallery

[Q] [?]Can't we get the TAP sensor working on Custom Roms??

Hey Guys , can't v get the tap sensor to work on Customs Roms like MIUI , CyanogenMod in Optimus 2x???
stuppid question , but what for is the tap sensor ? wat does it?
I'm guessing he means the stock ROM feature where you tap the edge of the phone to bump the cursor along.

Have to say I love that feature on the LG keyboard and it's the reason I still use it even if layout and functions (like long hold for nos etc) are better on other keyboards like the GB one

The GB keyboard has cursor keys, which I actually find more useful than the tap function. Just swipe up from the space bar to show them and swipe down to hide them.

Er, no it doesn't. No idea what you're using, but it's not the GB keyboard.

Maybe I should have been clearer. I'm using Keyboard from Android 2.3 by Steven Lin from the market, which does have that feature.
Ah ha, yes that makes more sense. Just had a look, not a bad idea really.

[Q] Select text/copy/paste

Hello
After update to ICS,I am missing one thing: Copy/paste ability in text edit fields.
On stock ROM's there was the arrow button(I think designed by Samsung) with options. In ICS,there is the button, unfortunately only one option is available "Paste". No Select,no copy at all. It allows me actually only to move the cursor in the text, nothing else.
Is there a way,how to get this working on ICS ROM?
like this? http://theunlockr.com/2011/04/12/android-101-how-to-copy-and-paste/
or like this? http://www.google.com/imgres?q=sams...p=18&ved=1t:429,r:9,s:0,i:90&biw=1275&bih=718
or something on Market?
Currently running on AlBa ZCLP6 Full ICS Repack v2
Thanks.

Look at the screen shot attached you will find 4 icons on the top right corner, they are :
Select all- Cut - Copy - Paste (from left to right)
You need to press on a word or a letter to see these icons, if you press on an empty space you'll only get Paste
Thanks for your reply.
Unfortunately youre'nt right.
No more options.
Look at this...
Edit: I found a way to get the options:doubletap on a word. Unfortunately it doesn't works all the time, for example xScope Browser takes doubletap as confirm,so I cannot make selection. Is there any 3rd party alternative of this feature?

Seems like you're using a TouchWiz ROM and that maybe the difference, am running ICS Stunner and I get that menu 100% all the time by just long pressing on a word..
Sorry mate
Have you tried click once more to the arrow?
Yes,I did it. Nothing happens. Stock button displays the menu, this does nothing more.
double tap works for me....
new to ICS and i never knew they changed this stuff..lol

This has been making me nuts for a while now -thanks for the post -the double tap worked (albeit it's a bit touch & go) - it at least does the job part of the time. :good:
Thanks!

[Q] ICS status bar menu for Froyo / GT-PT1010?

Hi!
I've been searching all over for this and couldn't find anything... I have a Samsung GT-PT1010 (forgotten device) which can't be upgraded to ICS and I'm not inclined to upgrade it to Gingerbread. However using imitation ICS settings app and the Go HD Launcher makes it pretty usable.
Only thing missing is the bottom-left corner Back, Home, Apps Running buttons! Does anyone know of such an app or maybe some mode of customization to imitate these buttons? The device in built buttons are simply inconvenient.
thanks for any pointers!!!

Hi there,
I have kinda the same problem with my P1010 but for a different reason. My capacitive navigation buttons have started to die, so I decided to use something called Button Saviour. You can customize it to look like the navigational soft keys on many different devices including the stock android and HTC style buttons. Hope this helps!
I will check this out, thank you!

Multitasking button

Is it possible to add a multitasking button to the navigation bar without flashing a custom ROM?
I am on a XT1097 rooted stock Lollipop.
Is the square button not multitasking? All the way to the right like all stock android versions?

Hmm.. yeah, maybe I did not explain myself correctly.
I meant a button to go back and forth between two apps.
Let's say you are on a hangouts session and editing a drive doc. Someone says something interesting and you want to take notes and quickly get back to the hangout session.
I had this button when using CyanogenMOD on my Nexus 5, but now I don't know how to do it on rooted lollipop stock.
Ah. On stock android, it's only the recent apps button that I know if. Switching between two apps with one touch sounds like a custom thing.

Yes, a thing I want to customize
I recently started using tiny apps app. It's got a floating app drawer that can hide on the side so you don't have to go back to the home screen. Other than that, I believe there are numerous apps that will give you an app drawer with a swipe from the left side of the screen.
