Hello! I wanted to know that if I just want a Android look would I be better off with a launcher or changing my OS to Jelly Bean when it comes for the Kindle Fire HD?

Personally, I would go with Hashcode's CM10.1 build, but it's a bit more difficult than just changing launchers. It all depends on how much time you're willing to spend, and if you think you can deal with the bugs in the CM10.1 build.

From what I've been reading in the dev section here for the AHD, a port of the Razor HD recovery "supposedly" will work with our AHD with only a few lines changed in it.
Just found out the RZR HD got their recovery here:
http://aosp.us/?p=341
Porting over a recovery is a bit above my pay grade so I thought I'd post it in case someone else would know how to do so.

is there anyone who is working on a port or has the knowledge to do a port?

If Hashcode can't do it, then very few probably could.

Well this is the one thing that would keep me from selling my phone, and buying the new Nexus 4.
All that's lacking from this phone is a working custom recovery!
Great news!

Hashcode just released a beta for RAZR HD that should work with the ahd. So once the kinks are worked out we may get a custom recovery...

Looks like Atrix HD has a different touch controller than RAZR-HD. I need a "ls -l /system/usr/idc" ran for me on the Atrix HD stock ROM.
Which roms have the true tablet ui? I'm running PA and it's okay but I'm a flashaholic and get bored quick so I'm looking for another rom with tablet ui. I don't like the stock ui.

I think pa is the only real tablet ui prebuilt in a rom. There is a true tablet mod you can flash to any rom though. Works great on 4.2.1. You can find it in the dev section.

I'm sure Omega Kaos will be adding it to his Kaos Droid ROM shortly as I've been pushing for him to do that. I want to be able to run tablet UI at 160 DPI as well, so I believe he is looking into that.
I use a ROM by cdesai, it has tablet ui on the go, and it's awesome!

CM10 is android 4.1
CM10.1 is android 4.2
There are more, new features in 4.2 and new animations. I like 4.2 better, I have run it on my nexus 7 since it came out. However some people think its not as fast and smooth as 4.1 but I think its better

Really excited about cm10.1 on the kfhd but my wife I fear has an understandable deal breaker, she lets the kindle read aloud to her using the tts ability in the kindle app but the play store kindle app does not have this ability...
Has anyone ported the app or does anyone know a work around other than stripping drm and using a second app?
Sent from my GT-P3110 using xda app-developers app
You can pull the .apk from the Kindle and install it on CM10.1, try to see if that will work. If you've got Hashcode's TWRP installed, make a backup of the ROM you're on, then use a file manager with root access to go into the /system folder, copy the .apk and move the copy to /sdcard, then transfer it to your computer. After you load CM10.1, move the .apk to the tablet again and install it. If it works, you're good to go. If it doesn't, and you're not happy, boot into recovery and restore the backup, and you'll be back to where you were before CM10.1.

I have the same problem, I tried reinstalling candy crush app and still same problem.
It's an issue with the rom. For a seamless, bug free experience, try kinology.

Try cyanogen hashcodes 5/11 release candy crush and many other games run fine on it, using it myself.
