I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.

I'm changing my procedure to better the update frequency. As you all know, I hate write ups. It keeps me from updating frequently. Nightlies may have unforeseen bugs. Report them and I'll look into them. I use my N4 now and don't want to switch my SIM constantly. I simply build and test common features. I'll announce new updates.

Yo Nelson, how do I go about changing the transparency of the status bar? I tried it from the General UI and that doesn't seem to work.
By transparency, I mean for example when its on the home screen and the wallpaper shows up there.

CNA stopped development 4 months ago. Built Root-Box but it lags a bit after a while. Not as nice as Xylon. Pac-Man is a great ROM but I need to wait for them to update there parts to 4.2.2. They share a lot of source with CM which has updated to 4.2.2. There's a conflict
Edit:
I'm working on editing Pac-Man source right now. Let's see if I can build it
We'll see

FLAWLESS!!
Awesome rom. First and last JB rom I try. It's just beyond perfect and flashing could not have been easier. No force closes, data and cell work fine. Really stable and reliable build. Will keep this as my daily, anyone still deciding to download should just go ahead and download it. Thanks, Nelson, this rom was just what my vibrant needed.
PS: I flashed this version of GApps instead which is for 4.2.2 and it works fine GApps 4.2.2

Xylon is fully transformed distribution for Android Devices. It is designed to take full advantage of the device’s hardware and to provide the user pure Android experience. The team is constantly working on making things better for the users and are happy to do so. We, the team, believe that for one to experience the pure taste of Android, he/she should be provided with something which is fast, intuitive and fluid – That’s where we come in – To provide you that. Xylon started as a part of the Fruits & Veggies (FNV) project, a community ROM for the Galaxy Nexus and is now set up individually but it’s roots are based on FNV. remicks, the founder of the FNV – inspired me to build something that would make users love of what they use daily.
P.S This ROM is fully based on FNV though.

Something is wrong with this build (xylon_crespo_012_12-19-2012.zip). I've made clean install twice, and i can't finish even the initial setup, because of the lag (huge lag). It takes more than 10 seconds to switch between languages. I don't know may be it's me, but i change my rom's almost every week, and I've never seen anything like this. Otherwise the first release ( the one from the old thread ) was more than good and smooth, the only problem that I have with it, was the youtube app / youtube player in the browser.

OK, I got a lot of time to work, and a blazing fast internet speed for now. So I decided to give AOSP a try, this is based on MoltenMotherBoard sources (from Gio), and for me atleast, is amazingly fast
What works?
Everything should work
What doesn't, yet
You tell me!
What is next?

What this is and what this isn't
This is not CyanogenMod, this is (mostly) vainilla Android, so don't expect me to add any customization.
i compiled this ROM for the people who wants simplicity, who doesn't need a looooooooooooooot of customization options and want something fast enough for this device, or the people who wants to experiment the vainilla Android experience like in a Nexus device
If you still want customization...
Well then, I can do nothin' for you, but you can check these!

ANOTHER DISCLAIMER
Take in mind, this is mostly done by MMB team, and you, yes, you, those who are reading this, give support to them, in their facebook page https://www.facebook.com/moltenmotherboard?fref=ts, because they are the masterminds (lol) behind this ROM, I really, really do not like to take credit for something that is NOT mine. As I said before, I'm just taking the sources and getting it to work in our device, they did the dirty job, and a lot of devs like TheWhisp, erikcas, WaylandAce, psyke83 did a great job with this, go thank them, donate them, they deserve it. This is why I say that I'm not a dev
ABOUT CUSTOM ROMs/MODs.
Please, as I said, MMB team is the original creator of this ROM, go thank them, I give permission to everyone to use this ROM as a base, ONLY and ONLY if you credit MMB team (I do not need credits or thanks, I never needed them and I'm never going to need them). Remember that if you modify this ROM, you're on your own, I'm not going to give any support, this is AOSP, and is meant to be vainilla Android experience. I'm GPL compilant (or atleast I'm trying to), so, go ahead and do anything you want with my/MMB team code, but please provide the source as I did.

Based on my collaboration with djmatt604 and the work on my existing Mackay ROM, we bring you the AOKP experience Infamous-style!
This ROM is based on the AOKP jellybean 4.2 sources
To this we added:
-The CM device & vendor trees, adapted to our needs
-Mackay kernel
-Some CM/AOKP cherries
-A unique set of homemade patches
-A tailor-made gapps included in the zip
Changelog version 1.7.4
-AOKP source code 8-May-2013
-TRDS code, including a Dark UI toggle
-Added toggle ribbon
-Added Hidden Statusbar Pulldown
-Latest Mackay kernel
Installation instructions:
-Reboot to recovery (CWM or TWRP)
-Make a backup of your current ROM
-Wipe system
-Factory reset
-Flash the zip (no need to flash gapps separately, as it is included in the ROM)
-Reboot and enjoy!
Don't try to do a dirty flash or restore system settings using Titanium, both cause bootloops. Trust me, I have had the honour of testing this for you!

Hope you continue with your work cause it´s impressive.

Awesome kasper!! Your 4.2.2 ROMS are the best . I´m going to try it now!
Just one question : Why you don´t include scripts for init.d or tweaks for build.prop or sysctl?
Hope you continue with your work cause it´s impressive.

I don't believe in scripts to improve overall performance...maybe in specific use-cases it can help, but not in general.
Well its booting faster since we can disable bootanimation,we are able to customize ui as we like,i think its great,i dont know though something, can aokp for p970 be updated when cm is updated too, even if cm10.1 gets changes for our phone spesifically?

CM10.1 and AOKP are separately updated. Important updates in CM are often quickly ported to AOKP. I use a common device tree for building Mackay ROM and AOKP, so all p970-specific changes for CM are also applied for AOKP.
I have to say that´s really good. Smooth and fast. I love more Paranoid ROMS but these is supperbbb! Great work
Oh yeah are there performance options anywhere or is aokp disabled them?

Due to general problems with Performance Options, they have been removed from AOKP.

Same issues as all JB4.2 ROMs (battery drain relatively high, camera (especially video) buggy).
Hello, does this Rom fix the several problems with the Bluetooth or does it include all bugs from CM?
It is nice to see that some people continue to develop for our OB.

I think I found bugg ... missing launcher settings. and video recorder not working. Now test the rest.

This is normal for AOKP, it has no launcher settings and as I mentioned before p970 has buggy video recording.

I meant JB4.2 for p970, not JB4.2 in general. On my Galaxy S, both Mackay ROM and Infamous AOKP work perfectly fine.
Wifi tether doesnt work, but usb tether is just fine. It looks fast, but lets give it a shot after instaling more apps.

So the problem is that lg has not released the appropriate drivers or that cm devs dont have time for p970?I understood that u meant p970 i just wonder why p970 has that many bugs compared to others.

Secondly, much as I also appreciate demetris_I for his work in porting these ROMs to our device, there is a "Thanks" button - these are supposed to be threads for development related posts, not for people to try and make themselves look good by how many times they can make their own posts saying "Thanks", "You're the best", "You rock dude" etc
@SimonTS
All right! What do you mean! I'll thank you!

The normal cause of this is running Halo. You need to disable Halo before installing anything and reenable it afterwards.
Not sure as I can't see Halo mentioned in the OP though, but I guess you have installed it yourself.
That was it. But halo is included in the rom. I had not even installed.
Btw very good rom. very fast and smooth

Home doesn't work using the hardware key or even from navbar. Decided to change it inside Hardware Keys options then reboot.... Stuck on bootanimation...
Edit: works now... Forgot GApps.....
Fast rom, smooth and battery friendly. Will try it for a time now and see if it will be the rom to stay on, in the hunt of my personal favorite. This has a big chance to be it i can say :good:
Nice nice nice!!!
Thank you for all the roms
one question: why goo? goo is so slow for me only 5-40 kb/s so I need 3-5 hours to download one of your roms thats so sad I would test everyone if the downloads would be faster!

Depending on users demand of data, sometimes it is very slow.

For some reason devhost DL speed is terribly slow (ROM download) as compared to download.paranoidandroid.co (Gapps) which is at least 5x faster.
If someone wants to make a mirror, feel free to do it.
I'll see if I can upload to paranoidandroid official server for future release.
Any plans for a crespo4g port? Seems almost everyone has forgotten all about it for months.
I have been using this rom for last few hours it is great rom but i think it is on the slow side due to the hybrid settings and it does not go well with nexus s hardware. But i think this is best rom for devices like n4.its a bit laggy on nexus s but then again great work developers....keep it up i hope you will come in something to improve its speed on older devices..thanks....waiting for per app power modes that might help a bit...

Thanks for your impression. I am not sure hybrif affects performance, but of course the ROM can be better for our nexus s, if I optimize, or clean it a bit.
There's no theme support and/or dark toggle right? Or i just can't find it in the settings?

Yep the dark toggle like on slimbean where you'll get a dark theme by just toggling it on the settings.

PA theme engine is the same as the tmobile/cm theme engine. cm is either reworking it or have dropped it entirely. I'm not exactly sure the reason, but it's even been removed from the latest crespo4g 4.2.2 nightlies. if there were xposed framework for crespo/crespo4g that would be a viable option, but I can't seem to find any mention of it anywhere.
Thanks .

how to enable those floating notifications on other 4.3 Roms?
Can I assume since this is an aospa port it's built on aosp source? I only ask because I have seen others build it on CM.
Thanks!
