Ok im not sure if this should be posted here or in themes but here is my problem
Will it seems like when ever i try to theme Launcher.apk it doesnt work.
I reboot the phone and then i just get the android loading screen, but i can still get calls and the phone works as normal just without a Launcher app.
So what i want to know is what could cause this?
i themed it before and made an update.zip theme and that works but now its not working even using MetaMorph does the same thing.
*more info*
Then I used openhome to get to subf and tried to install launcher and it gives me cannot be installed on this phone error.
Im runing a rooted 1.6 i believe it was basic off of cm41 i know its old.
did you follow the theming guide?
yea i themed 1.5jf and a few cm builds and never had this problem ,
even theme the build i am on now. But i am trying to change it and thats when i am getting this problem.
Its like when i change something on Launcher.apk it just seems like it doesnt install any more.
I've even themed the Launcher.apk reziped and adb pushed it and still same thing.
I got nandroid backups so its no problem just trying to find out why this is doing this so i can move on an get it to look the way i want.
fiy im only changing app drawer background and the tabs.

So you resigned and everything?
Oh but what rom are you using?
You can't just re-sign one app and push it.. all the apps (except the google ones, which can't be touched) need to have matching keys. The theme guide should tell you which apps need to be signed together.

When i made a couple of themes i used 7zip to open and photoshop to modify certain apps and the framwork. Then when finished rezipped folders then signed.
I downloaded it long ago dont remeber who made its say
kernel version 2.6.29.6-cm41 dan2Sunnyvale )
build number DRC83
Its a ADP 1.6 that was made when 1.6 launched im thinking of switch to another build but had this problem when i did that before.
And yes apk has been resigned the same way i made my theme update.zip
I used the same temple just changed like 2 .png in launcher resigned everything
reboot phone flash. same problem
adb push. same problem
used MetaMorph droid app drawer. same problem
MetaMorph Stock-App-Drawer. same problem
So its not in the signing its something to do with changing the launcher.apk then it no longer wants to work.
hell i even deleted the <packages></packages> info for launcher rebooted and try again and still no luck.
Im going to switch enom build later on and see what happens but i had this problem before with launchers on other builds. Its like I can only theme it onces then it no longer works.
thanks to all that read this i know its long but i cant wrap my head around why all this is happening

Wow thats pretty ancient, it usually says dersert labs or cyanogen and maybe twisted?.
Yea I know its old I need 2 upgrade just haven't felt like redoing the phone, but on another note I tried the metamorph android2.0-stock and every single apk work but lanucher and I didn't try framework. But ill probaly update 2 morrow or 2 night and see if I still have this problem.
Hello there, this is likely extremely obvious and I'm sorry for that but could somebody please walk me through these couple of things
The DPI on my Touchpad seems high, I'm aware there's a fix for this but I can't find it. Sorry.
Now I have the latest Nightly build of CM9 installed, how do I go about installing Gapps?
Sorry again, and thanks.
[edit] I said too low when I meant too high
To change the DPI, you can use a file explorer (I have only really used root explorer) to change the build.prop in the /system folder. If I had my TouchPad with me I could tell you the exact line but it has something to do with density and shows a number which is what it is currently at. I think the normal is 160. You can change that there, save the file and reboot for it to take effect.
The gapps zip folder, you just flash in clockworkmod recovery.

Please do some research before you render your device useless.... Being lazy and not taking the time to search for such common solutions has no excuse.... No matter how politely you ask for help
I use a program that I got from google play. Its called dpi something, works great and fix play store problems. I use 132 and it looks great.

DPI changer utility works great for me. It is free and requires a reboot to apply.

How do I change my keyboard mapping back to qwerty? Whenever i install a new rom, it changes the keyboard layout. This isn't a issue with CM 6 and CM 7 since i can change in the settings. But in MIUI, there's no option to change it. Changing in OR doesn't work too.
So, how do i do it?

Than i think, changing in OR should work. :S
Try out some different OR, i have no other idea. Sorry.
Maybe you should look around on some MIUI forums.

I tried the OR from Skrilax and Androidiani open recovery but both doesn't work. Going to try minimod
This is one thing i don't understand: A853 is a euro version, but why does it have the $ sign on the keyboard? Shouldn't it be the euro sign instead?
EDIT: minimod also didn't work. Can't try G.O.T. OR cuz links r dead/

I guess because the $ sign is like an international synonym for money.
I've never used MIUI, but in CM9/10 (and i think in CM7 too) there is an option to change the $ sign to write €.
Have you tried going to Settings > Device Settings > Keyboard char-map and change it to EURO-Qwerty
I have the same A853 with the euro symbol, but since the keyboard started bubbling up I simply ordered new keypad for the A855 with the dollar sign. Problem solved lol.

There's no option to do that in MIUI. Guess i'll just live with the fact that the $ sign is gone and now it's euro and pound.

Snap didn't know that.
I have found this on the MIUI forum if you are willing to try it. Its supposedly for 1.9.30, but should work for any newer version I think.
Restart into OR, enter console, edit file /system/etc/rootfs/default.prop and add line:
persist.sys.keypad_type=qwerty
at the end. Then save file and restart phone. Now physical keyboard should work as expected

The other option is to change it from qwerty to EURO-qwerty

Not sure which one will work for you.
Or if you can't pull it off with OR, try Root Explorer.

I already tried this b4 and didn't work. I think my particular phone just don't like MIUI or vice versa. I say this because b4 i go to OR, it keeps making me reapply the update.zip. I tried with different OR and MIUI versions

tried that too.
I need help please, ive looked around on the forum for an answer to my problem but to no avail..
The story goes...
Had my lovely note 2 for a while, decided to root used (exynos abuse). (i only needed root for root explorer as i wanted to change the boot animation) i never got around to doing this.
Next thing i was on the playstore and i seen a DPI modifier, i downloaded that and set the DPI to 240 granted su permissions and the phone rebooted..
Now im stuck in the samsung logo boot loop..
Could someone please help my get my note 2 back.. im not bothered about the data on there as all this is backed up.
I have already downloaded odin, but not sure what to go from here as i am still a n00b
I hope you guys don't mind me creating a thread, i have used the search bar intensively before starting this
I look forward to your replies, nice simple answers please guys just tell me what to download and what to do with it..
Please dont start flaming me, i know what i dont was wrong, and i now realise that i should of actually modded the dpi myself rather then using an app.
Kindest of regards
Tom
ok first of all this is N7000 thread and not N7100.
as you now have odin, download the rom you were on earlier from samfirmware.com and flash it using Odin by putting the phone in download mode.
if you want to change DPI, use LCD density or RomToolbox next time

Thanks for that
I didn't realise i had posted in the N7000 section pps:
I will give that a go later on today after work and see what happens, do i use the PDA mode on Odin??
Thanks again
Yes PDA
Google on changing the dpi via ADB.
This will hopefully solve it once you changed it back without reflashing

Thats brill thanks for that, i just done a search on XDA and it seems quite easy to pull and push build.prop via ADB.
I think i may give that a go first, if all else fails il push stock fw to the device
Thanks again guys
hmm. have tried that.. i have faced the exact same issue.. changed the build.prop LCD density using root explorer and then entered a boot loop. In boot loop my adb was not able to detect the phone, even though usb debugging was ticked.
Do you remember if the USB debugging was ticked. May be you will be luckier than me

My phone could be found via adb, i pulled the build.prop from the phone and edited the LCD Density strings to no avail.
I pushed the build.prop back to the phone restarted the device and it is still stuck on the boot loop.
Im not sure what else that might have changed in build.prop using that app from the market.
Ive looked through the build.prop and i cant see anything else that may be wrong with it???
Is there maybe a way i can get a stock build.prop from here? maybe someone has a UK GN2 on 4.1.1 ALJ3 that i can steal the build.prop from.. would that work?
Regards
Tom
That's the reason you are on the wrong forum. People might have it for 7000 but not for 7100
Hi, I've got a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 and I rooted it and installed the Gamerzrom Android 4.2.2 Jellybean rom onto it.
Everything was working fine, I was very happy, but still I was toying around with it. I decided to change my screen res from 240 dpi to 160 dpi.
When I hit the reboot button, it shut down, started up again, and was stuck in a bootloop on the Gamerzrom screen after the Semaphore one.
I really hope you guys know something to fix my phone, because I was planning on selling it.
Thank you very much in advance!
P.S: I am trying to solve this problem too, I just hope that if I get help, it gets fixed more easily.
Nevermind people
I solved it, I just wiped every option I could in recovery mode and reïnstalled the whole thing.
