Hi, my media don't showing any pictures and videos now just writing " There are no items in your collection" before it was ok all media was in gallery like pictures,videos. My sd is mounted to phone.I can watch my media via File manager and it mount's to PC. I wanna to use gallery not File manager. And i cannot set my pictures location.

Hi Guys, I seem to be having problems upgrading to jelly bean roms. The problem here is that my gallery won't show up my photos from the internal SD card. Besides that, songs cannot be played. I have tried:-
CM10
SlimBean 2.3
RemICS-JB 2.2
What i did:-
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. Wipe cache partition
3.Wipe Dalvik Cache
4. Format system (mounts & Storage)
Using TiramiSlim v4.2 final now.
Please help? Seriously i love Jelly bean

Also had that problem and spent my whole researching for the answer but failed to find an effective solution. What I'd just did is Ive downloaded Winamp from the market (it has a rescan media function) and I downloaded a third party Gallery app. Winamp solved my problem, Apollo music player recognized my music files. But on the gallery.. Im stuck using Quick Pic.
It happend to me while I was trying to upgrade from 2.1 to 2.3.7 and it seems that there's no solution for this.
Now I'm using MixZing Player for audio and Quick Pic for photos.
I got the same issues in the beginning of cm 10.
Backup your internal sd card files to your PC (also do a titanium backup for apps) and wipe sd card via system settings / storage options. Now only copy your music files and other stuff like photos back to your device and download latest GNexus Port from Elite (cm10) and do all wipes in recovery (data/cache/dalvik cache/system). Install Elites Rom and don't worry if the first installation is very fast and your phone reboot its normal. (your device should only reboot 1-2 be patient) if you are in recovery again, do all wipes like before and install the Rom.
Now all should be fine

Any other simpler solutions? It's a hassle to copy and paste media files or using third part apps.

Option 1. Try clearing Media Storage app data from settings->app
Option 2.
For ringstone:
create on SD:
/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
For notification:
create on SD:
/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones
and put your audio files
It work after unmount/mount SD( by enable USB mode and disable ).

I had the same problem when i was running cm7. Now i'm using 2.3.3 ... nice'n'easy.
All my photos appear in gallery, and songs are playable.
Cannot see any of my media (music, images, etc) on any JB rom...
Most people respond by telling me to delete the .nomedia file (which I dont even have on my sdcard) or deleting the media storage (of gallery and apollo) which also doesn't do anything
Can someone who has solved this problem, explain how they solved it

so i flashed my Galaxy note with jellybean rom and find out it's file manager use other storage folders..Like before: Mnt/storage/sdcard...Mnt/storage/sdcard/external_sd After: Mnt/storage/sdcard0...Mnt/storage/extSdCard! I need to restore old options cuz manny apps can't see my extSdCard like dolphin browser or flv video player...wut to do?
the mounts have been changed in JB roms. reinstall those apps.. should fix it
dude i installed all apps but i am saying is that apps can't see other storage except sdcard0!
Jb 4.1.2 problem
just flashed my phone to 4.1.2
Gallery and Apollo music player cant detect my media files from the external memory card.
But when I use 3rd party gallery viewer like quickpik or poweramp music player theyre able to find all of my media files.
When I moved my files to internal sd – gallery was able to detect it.
I reseated the memory card
I tried flashing it to GB 2.3.6 and install the CM10
But no luck. Tried installing different rom running on 4.1.2 like slim bean and elite rom 4.1.2 but still the same issue. Even tried using different kernel but no luck.
I used 4.2.2 rom and I didnt experience the same issue
I want to stick with 4.1.2 any suggestions?
