Z notification LED

Guys,
got my Z this morning but the notification LED does not notify on SMS or emails, It does work and go solid when charging but that's it.
Am I missing something, is there a setting for it on the phone

Don't know if it's gonna make any difference but...have you connected the phone to the pc to check for updates?
The French version did not come with the last version, 350 I think.

just done a full phone reset and made no difference.
the phone says no other update is available, if I connect phone to PC I guess the same will be said

Hello,
I got my Xperia this monday, it came from Germany. With the notification led it happened just the same until I did a factory reset and then the led started working perfectly.
Hope this helps.

The LED works for me when getting whatsapp messages. I have not yet noticed if it lid up when I got an SMS/email. Will report back when I have more info.
I'm on that latest update which ends with .350

Really? Doesn't make sense!
At least for phone calls and sms it should notify you...

Got the same thing here, also did a reset and I'm not in stamina.
Must be a setting or something that we're "missing".

Done a full phone reset 3 times and still no fix

I am gonna just throw this out here, cause I dont actually have the phone, but are light notifications activated within the apps of themselves by default?

in messaging in you go into setting there is options to tick or un tick LED notification but in my case it is ticked.
tried unticking reboot and then reticking and reboot but made no difference

I should be one of the bugs Docomo has fixed today on their version - notification led not notifying during sleep, there's no Extended Stamina Mode
I guess Sony will do the same for operator-free firmware really soon.

hopefully its very soon, its very annoying not knowing if a sms or a missed call has happened

I had the same problem, but 'fixed' it by installing Lightflow...
Hope they will bring update soon.

My led is not working either, is there a option in settings to enable it that I haven't come across?

Right i did a factory reset, it worked for a while Until i installed lightflow and go sms, if anyone got it working with lightflow can u let me know what settings you used?

so strange, I installed light flow and still nothing no notification nothing.
I cant be a broken LED because it lights up when charging the battery

Problems with notifications LED

On my Xperia Z the notifications LED doesn't turn on. It only appears in orange while charging, but not with notifications and neither with using LightFlow...
Anyone has detected this problem? Any solution?

It's a bug, Sony are aware of it and should be fixed soon. A full factory reset can fix the problem.

Some phones LEDs dont work with stamima mode on or off like mine! Had to do the factory set twice to get it fixed.

Same here.
I don't know why people keep talking about the Stamina mode, it's know that the LED doesn't work for many people, with and without Stamina mode.
And like I said, I also had to do a factory reset TWICE until it worked for me.
But I would also suggest when setting up the phone for the first time, not to sync, but to install everything manually, like wifi and installing apps.
After that is done you can sync, should work after all that.

You saying that the notification light is working for you 'in Stamina Mode' ? - It only works for me when SM is off.

I reset my Xperia Z once and the LED works perfectly...

I don't think that's what he is saying. People ASSUME that when people complain about LED not working, they automatically think that the person complaining is using stamina mode. We all know that when in stamina mode the LEDs are switched off to save battery. But some handsets have a problem where LEDs are not working even when stamina mode is switched off. To fix that we had to do factory reset and still some peoples handsets are still not working.

I also found that my LED does not work for notifications, first thing Sony said was to disable Stamina Mode, well unfortunately that was already disabled, so what else could it be?
I guess it is a bug, because factory resetting twice my phone the LED still did not work, sadly.

Turn off stamina mode and restart your phone.I got mine working this way without any factory reset .

I have one query for notification LED.
MY notification LED works for SMS, EMAIL.
but I am using "talk" application to google chat, on your phone does it shows notification for newly received reply.
Mine it's not showing any notification. Wanted to confirm before I do factory reset, since phone is fully configured.

Hey guys, recently i updated to the new 4.3 10.4.1.B.0.101 firmware
however, several times, the screen will not wake and i am forced to do a hard reset
has anyone else been forced to do this?
EDIT: The bug only started after i updated to the new firmware

I can't say that I experienced that too. But I will keep an eye on it for the next couple of days. Maybe I just didn't notice it.

ah when it does happen you will definitely notice it
you hit the power button, but the screen stays black
although i can confirm the phone is on, because if i plug in the charger, the light turns orange

press and hold the power button to see if it comes back to life, sometimes I get this on a .569 custom rom and have to either hold power+volume up to reboot it to get it to work

Nope, stock kernel

I don't have your problem but I did have times yesterday where it would flash me black screens for no reason, for example when trying to close open apps, it would just flicker black for a bit. Haven't had that problem today though. I do however have broken Wifi at the moment, I can no longer connect to any network or access the settings without the settings freezing.

Reinstall the rom to factory, i mean wipe everything when you reinstall, usualy that fixes a lot

i restored to factory and wiped cache before installing, as well as clearing /system

Bug CONFIRMED! Can happen randomly. Not only that, but after a hard reboot , gyroscope is broken

Yes it is a bug stamina mode is causing the problem.Turn off stamina mode and it will work at least it worked for me.

camera lag
I have the camera lag. when I open the camera app it takes complete a second or two to open. and if you open it from lock screen it takes for ever. well at least from the lock screen it was laggy on .569 too. other than that the UI is slightly slower and laggy than .569.

Did you upate through PCC?
I have an update ready for 101 there (UK) but this has made me a bit wary with what you are experiencing.. Also got the 569 update OTA - which I already have.. & I can't seem to get rid of the stupid message from my top bar!

Xperia z latest update bug
In the last software update does not work anymore voice recording, voice search does not work and the voice dictation of text messages. He tells me (you can not reach google at the moment) but it works for calls. I tried doing a reset by update service and PC Companion, but I have not solved. Can anyone help me?

1/2 Screen Freezes in Landscape Video Playback

Is anyone else having issues with video playback in landscape mode? 1/2 the screen freezes and the other half continues to play the video. It is the weirdest thing. Taking a screenshot shows the normal output. Trying to find out if this is common or if there's something up with my phone

I've had half screen turning black. Seems to happen after daydreaming for me, and coming out of landscape orientation even though the daydream never actually went landscape. Seems like a couple weird problems at the same time. Had to reboot to get out of the freeze. I've turned off daydream for now...will see if the freeze happens elsewhere.

I've experienced the same problem, the first half freezes while the second half continues with the video. I've had this phone for a week, and has happened about 5 times now. Have you gotten any more information as to why this is happening?

Have you guys changed your DPI? This issue seems to happen at certain DPI intervals.

I just posted a thread about this issue. I didn't notice your thread This issue is making me crazy I am wondering if this is a kernel related issue. I am on lean.

I have not changed anything regarding dpi settings. In fact, ive kept this stock....for now. I was worried it was just me but it seems to be affecting other people. 64gb Blue if there is any correlation between model number.

My DPI is stock. 64gb white. Rooted, unlocked stock bootloader, stock kernal/rom. I did figure out that a simple screen off then back on corrected the issue.

Yup that seems to clear it, however when you are showing off this massive behemoth to all your friends playing a video , it just gets a little annoying having to power off unlock and reload. I'm wondering if its been submitted to google as a bug.

I was hoping that 5.0.1 would fix this. Still happens in both portrait and landscape modes.

For me it happens with apps that have lots of motion on the screen. Waze navigation is where I notice it most. Two three times during 40 minute commute. Never happened using Google navigation.

I am worried this is going to be a hardware issue. Look at this it's Moto issue I believe

So they confirmed that this is a Hardware issue? Where did you buy the phone from? Mine was direct from Motorola

I got mine from tmobile. One of the employees over there has the phone so the tech was on the phone put me hold to check with his co-worker and he came back and told me yeah his coworker has this issue with his phone. He sent me a replacement and it's going to arrive today it's already out for delivery. I asked him so if this one have the same issue he said you can request a new phone equal to the value of the nexus due an on going issue with the phone. So we will see

Mine just frooze up yesterday I think just viewing an email only had the phone two days bone stock yet.

Yeah, there is no matter what you do on the phone it just freeze up and you have to turn the screen off and turn it back on to fix it.

Mine wasnt that easy I had ti use buttons power vol down to get phone to reboot.

Help required

Hi everyone I could do with some help my 3T will not turn on wifi or bluetooth, I have tried flashing different roms going back to stock but the only os I could get to boot is oxygenOS 3.5.1 if I update it just loops but it still has not wifi or bluetooth
I can get LineageOS 15.1 to boot however the bluetooth and wifi issues still prevail In TWRP i saw something about modem in red and in fastboot
baseband version in blank and so is bootloader version
Mac address is showing as 02:00:00:00:00
in advance wifi settings
I have tried using MSM thats how I can get stock os to boot

Have you been updating the Firmware when you update the ROM? It doesn't sound like it.

WiFi won't even switch on nor will Bluetooth
or NFC
any ideas would be helpful I'm currently trying to get an RMA for screen burn

I believe LOS 15.1 is using OB27 Firmware Blobs. Try flashing latest OB29 Firmware, followed by ROM.

It does sound like you might have a hardware failure, but lets hope not!

Thank you again but it's looking like a hardware fault I am going to try and get an RMA which I'm glad about really what with the notification area screen burn, I'm just glad its still under warrenty until Nov'18.

Here we go sorry about the quality I have just taken the snaps with my oneplus one
top left pull down area
and about 1 inch down the screen tone change white to slight orange.

I would say off white more than orange, the notifcations were there in the morning after I left the phone on a slow charger over night like 8hrs I never noticed that I had left the screen on, however 7-8hrs seems a bit **** must be a crappy panel my misses never turns her s7 screen off and its still fine
years later.

Nope not including that at all! (lets hope they are not reading this forum), thats why I was not to bothered about it but after the OTA update killed my wifi I had to I'm on all you can eat data from 3 but at my house the signal is weak until I get outside so it's really needed plus I'm really lazy and use my phone to change the tv chanel when I can't find the fire remote

I'm on 3 too, and never get a great indoor signal either. We're both on Oneplus phones, with a Carrier that has 800Mz band 4G, which is supposed to increase penetration of buildings, but neither of us can use it because 3 are the worst and won't enable VoLTE for us.
They suck!

Just a quick update, so I decided to download the Three app to pay my bill and as it started it asked me to disable wifi which I found odd as it's not working and then it pops up wifi networks in range bluetooth still not going but I never use it anyway.
How would the 3 app force the wifi module to start so very odd?
