Is there any fix for this yet. I have scouerd the developer forums and cannot find a fix. It seems as some people have problems with mic volume and others the caller volume. For me, it is the speaker and earpiece which are very quiet. If anyone can point me to the direction of a fix, please help.
Thanks,
Nathan
Theres no fix *yet* I would try flashing the sultan kernel as people report success with that. Don't forget to thank me xD

hey guys,
first off i wanna thank all you awesome devs for making the android platform and the sgs the awesome experience it us i switched from iphone about a month back now and i have no regrets.
well maybe except one tiny one? when i was playing music in the car.. and i got a call.. the call audio would come through the same headphone jack and i could hear it through the car speakers while speaking through the phone mic.
is such an option possible on the sgs? also does anyone know of a way to lower the mic input volume for video so as to be able to film in loud environments such as gigs?
im running the megatron rom with froyo.
thanks for your time guys!

I would love for this to work too. I do a lot of work in very noisy areas, and use noise cancelling headphones to deaden outside noise. On my iPhone I could answer calls using the phone mic and headphones for the speaker. It's driving me insane that I can't do this on my Galaxy S.
search.. is that so hard for everyone .. i have posted solution to this multiple times.

Just spent the last hour going through all posts made by you and have not found your solution to this problem. Only multiple posts of you telling everyone else to search....
Would you mind not being so vague?

Hi all,
I also want to know how to enable/make this work.
I am using Darky's 9.3 ROM with Voodoo Kernel 5.4.1 and have tried all the settings in the Voodoo control app but have had no luck.
Help please...
Anyone else here having hissing/crackling in the background on calls with people?
I have checked settings, I'm not roaming, and the phone is stock out of the box.
With the speaker up to highest and 2nd highest setting I can hear hissing and crackling on several calls. People on the other end say they can hear themselves echoing as well.
Tested a Nexus S and iPhone and both don't have the problem.
Wondering if its just a bad device or issue with the quality of the speaker in the phone(which HTC is known for)
To be more specific, the dead air(in between conversation) sounds hissy/crackling.
I can also hear myself in the earpiece when I talk.
Tried same SIM on nexus s and iphone 4(no problems)
erhm.... LOL?
idk where ur livin or what kinda of provider ur using, but im like 100% sure no one in holland or surrounded (since i dont know the state of other country's have this problem)
so no...
Thank you for that informative reply....
Hi! I wrote it before, because i have the same problem in Hungary... People say they dont understand what iam saying... Echoing everytime.. i try it with another sim it wasnt better...
What can we do whit it??? Iam very angry about it!

your very welcome, and most likely its your provider not the phone, forgot to finish my sentence sometimes im busy and forget to add the rest of what i wanted to say.
Turns out, if the volume is turned up anything beyond 50% of the volume rocker, the sound distorts and can hear very low crackling.
With setting 50% and below crackling is not there.
Maybe a blown speaker? Can anyone test this out on their IS so I know whether to swap it out or not.
Thanks
With the higher volume than 70%, i can hear a little crackilng... So, same problem!
Same problem here, but not with all people (60 % problems ; 40 % - OK.), just with some of them (Nokia users in special)

Exactly how I'd describe the sound quality of the Incredible S.

I wouldn't say there's crackling but it does sound a little harsh.

Eco (is heard by the person that I am talking to)
Waiting for new feedback about crackling problem...
Just bought one of these and made first phone call. I always have earpiece volume on full on every phone I have and I could definitely hear a faint but noticeable buzz / distortion from earpiece when other person spoke.
Oh well I've got 7 days to find a fix or it goes back. I wonder if these are faulty units or all incredible s devices do this.
Can owners who don't have this problem at all chime in ?
I just put this on my phone yesterday, and put KangBang 2.0 on it as well, which most said would fix the in call volume issues, but no dice for me. Also my ringtones stop after one ring when I"m getting a call. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions that may fix my issues. I asked for help in the thread but doesn't seem anyone's paying attention to it atm.
I'm not complaining about the rom I just need some help

Fast, awesome, easy......incredible.
It's a great rom but calls didn't work right for me, but in hindsight it might have been a bad kernal flash

I had the same issue and went back to faux 123 kernel and fixed it , I'm gonna reflash the kabang one and see if I can get it to work if not I think I will stay with the 007 seems to be good .
KangBang has been known to cause low in-call volume, although by no means is it a bad kernel or made by a bad dev.
OK you guys here's the 1.5 link if you cant find it where it should be found:
This one has Kangbang V2.1 done by Kevsthabest

PLEASE DONT make mirrors as we have a count system for this link.

no, its software.
Heres to hoping they fix the low headset volume, and High BT volume experienced on some headsets (that last one is my biggest gripe with the phone)
turkishness -> In my Nexus 5 I haven't got the same sound volume concerning the SMS and when I play a video. I think (hope ) it's software issue
Now we just need to wait for the rollout to start and for some nice chap to post the ota zip and then we can all sideload it right away.
I think the sound problem is software, they just won't let us turn it up loud enough.

no, I don't have this problem.
try cleaning the speakers at the top and bottom gently with a soft toothbrush.
I was asking about rom/unlocked as there are some apps/tweaks you can install to improve sound, but all need root.

Mine is fine - quite loud. Only usually have speaker at 60 - 70% volume even outside in noisy places.
Maybe someone else here has a suggestion to help you?
