[Q] galaxy note bricked after installing Rocket ICS v3

hi , I had installed the ICS Stock Germany, and this morning I went to install the Rocket Rom ICS v3 but my note is not restarted more, then i flash the ICS Stock whith Odin Pc, since then my note is not restarted more, gets stuck on the screen of samsung , I have done several downgrades and upgrade ins roms Stock and Custom,it comes in so Download mode and Recovery, but when I go to a Full Wipe it crashes and restarts, please help me
Have you tried downgrading to a stock GB ROM with Odin and doing a wipe in recovery while on GB rom ?
Dont do data wipr on stock rooted roms
Hey , did you do full wipe on ICS stock LPY ( German release ) Rom ?????? Hope you have not . Haven't you read that most of the stock ICS roms have emmc cap bug ?? it will super brick your phone ! . Download stock Gingerbread KL3 firmware and flash it using PC Odin . But before that, flash the pit file based on whether your phone is 32 GB or 16 GB , and then flash KL3 . You might be doing good after this . If not and if you have done data wipe on LPY then the only way to fix this ( till now !) is to edit data partitions of your phone using adb tools found with android sdk , or get your motherboard replaced or whatever the Samsung Service Centre asks you to do . Good luck with the first step ! Hope that you ll be successful at first step
If you need any help feel free to ask , will help as much as possible.
I have included 16GB pit file , flash it through PDA slot in PC odin
I tried

Check Rocket Rom or Dr Ketan threads - best to flashback to Abyss 3.9 or 4.2 then reboot into recovery and factory reset before flashing RR3 or later. I've done this twice and it worked both times.
damn now im chickening out guys i need to know something...im on cm9 so i assume its safe to flash ics stock directly since its a safe kernel?now how do i go on about it?enter cwm mode wipe everything, download latest ICS flash with pc odin then root it?
also how do i recover my backed up data with TB?since i dont have an external SD yet
I am not sure what do u mean by samsung screen...is it the boot animation or the samsung galaxy note screen GT N7000 screen??? I flashed the criskelo's rom and I got stuck in boot animation....I was able to go to cwm recovery and download mode..but I was not able to flash anything via cwm...not even abyss kernel....I never used download mode on note yet...so I was trying to fix it without using pc....gladly I had an old version of franco kernel....which I was able to flash and then I rebooted into recovery and flashed abyss kernel...and back to checkrom...and now on aokp....

[Q] HELPPPPP please soft brick

Hey peeps iv got a big problem it happened yesterday with my Galaxy note GTn7000. I was on stock ICS LPT and was flashing new kernels through CWM when suddenly my phone just kept freezing on the Samsung screen when I start it up and it has been happening since yesterday. I think it was the speedmod ICS kernel that I flashed that made this happen. I flashed Abys kernel through odin and could get in to CWM. I did factory reset/wipe cache/dalvik/cache and then flashed checkrom which was on my SD card. Installation was fine but then it got stuck on the Galaxy note startup screen. I was searching for answers on the XDA forums and someone suggested that you flash a stock full wipe GB rom. So I tried to flash LC1 open Europe rom and was waiting for an hour the the rom to flash through ODIN which had only a bit left on the bar to flash and it didn’t flash it just froze. I tried 3 times and the same thing happened . I have used the USB jig to erase previous downloads and reset binary count. I flashed ICS LPT rom through odin and it flashed normally but when it starts up it gets stuck on the Samsung screen. Any suggestions? I can get into download mode and CWM so it means Im in a softbrick. Do you think I should download an ICS rom and put it on to my SD card and then try flashing it ? Help would be appreciated thanks.
Here is the video of what happens. Basically i have waited for 4 hours yesterday and it just stays on the samsung screen
Hey, Id recommend you flashing back to GB via ODIN before we continue.
ICS still has a few bugs and that could interfere with getting you back up and running.
Hey thanks i will download a new GB stock rom, i cant post the video link because im a new member dang...

So you've extracted the original tar file, you don't need to, just point the original tar file to the pda section of pc odin, it will sort out each partition for you.

Is it a rar. Or a zip? If it's a rar, re download from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997 then extract one level with 7zip to get the tar file.

do i need to flash with some pit file coz of nand write?
Original pit file from Dr Ketan thread in Android original Dev section. But I would say change kernel using recovery mode and try flashing any custom rom again
My advice its before messing up your device.. Start fresh.. Flash GB stock with Odin.. And start from there
Tapatalking on my n7000
Done....downloaded a pit file and flashed it with stock rom...done....
now the problem is that though i flashed with odin with a pit file and i got to get the stock rom
but during flash odin showed Can't open the serial(COM) port two times and passed the flashing
now the mobile is too slow and hanging a lot....any solutions for this?
you should install a kernel with CWM and scan the emmc with HG42's partition scanners.

Maybe the downloaded file is corrupted..Try flashing another baseband FW and check it.
For flashing kernels theres a SAFE AND FREE app
http://dl.xda-developers.com/attachdl/bca6a9b5a73472139b21ff4f2d7b4722/51a03873/1/9/0/2/9/3/1/Universal_Kernel_Flash_Tool_110.apk
Install this app and open it
Select the md5 or bin files from it and flash them and restart.
There you go...its done
I dont know about downgrading to GB..never tried and not gonna try it
MY JB is awesome:highfive:

look my binary count (115) i was flashing with many different frimware
can you guide me step by step for repairing recovery mode????
THANKS
You can't enter recovery after flashing original fw via odin? Try taking out battery, put it back in and force recovery. Press it for a long time till it enter recovery. Then factory reset. I encountered this once on galaxy ace, endless bootloop and can't enter recovery but download is okay. Then I pressed the buttton until it somehow got into recovery. I don't know if this works but you can try though.

We do not have any JB custom kernel that is flahsable with Odin. So I suppose you flashed GB custom kernel on JB, that is your problem. Flash whole STOCK JB FW again. After that use ONLY JB kernels. CoCore 6.x for example. Only one not abandoned from updates for now.
Do this again with JB, step by step: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2086965
And kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2140597
Unzip it, put it on SD card, install Frapeti's universal kernel flasher. Install some ROOT explorer, this app needs it to work. Use it to install kernel.

Bricked or not?

Hi everybody
Im new here and to flahing new Roms and stuff.
i believe my phone is bricked and im struggling to get it opperational. Here is what happened...
I have a GT-N7000 on 4. 1. 2 Jelly Bean, which i rooted and flashed to custom ROM CynoganenMod 12 on 5. 0 Lollipop. All was going fine, i rooted my phone, installation went accordingly. After a week or so whithout any problems, my phone started to freez, slag and hang which it never did before, so i decided to flash it back on 4. 1. 2 Jelly Bean I did all as is step by step on Odin 3.-v1.8. When my booted, it booted into System Recovery...
reboot system now (I did)
apply update from ADB
apply update from external storage (I did)
wipe data/factory reset
wipe cache partion
apply update from cache
-----------------------------------------------
# MANUAL MODE #
-- Applying Multi-CSC. . .
E : All failed to mount and open in red ( Invalid argument )
Nothing seems to work, so when i pull out the battery but it back and press "Volume down, Menu and Power button it takes me to the screen with the Warning and yellow triangle where i can install a custom ROM...
Volume up : Continue
Volume down : Cancel ( restart ) (I did)
When i Volume up it takes me to...
ODIN MODE
CUSTOM BINARY DOWNLOAD : NO
CURRANT BINARY : SAMSUNG OFFICIAL
My problem is i have no clue what my PDA nor my CSC code is. Im from South Africa and not sure either which of these are correct.... XFV, XFC, XFM, XFA (im not network locked) so i dont know which firmware to flash with Odin to make my phone opperational again? Any help please guys.
Johan
Download Philz kernel in tar.md5 format and flash using Odin... Then try to boot into recovery. You should see cwm. Factory reset and flash a stock rom again.

I have tried Phillz and did as you suggested. Im confident that i dont have the correct firmware. I downloaded this from Sammobile : N7000XXLSZ_N7000OJVLSB_N7000LSO_HOME.tar.md5.
Not sure how to go about this....
Doesn't matter what firmware you had.. Once you do a factory reset you can flash any rom made for the n7000
Were you able to get into Philz cwm recovery after you flashed the kernel?
Hi there.
I am happy to report that my phone is back to its original state. Phew, that wat too close for comfort.
I figured that it was obivously bricked or something close to it.
The problem was that i repartitioned it with the wrong PIT file and wrong kernel. Why i did that, i dont know? So i found firmware i thought would be the correct one! In its bricked state i copied the file superuser to my external, so can unzipit in CWM recovery. I download a file flashprogram Samsung N7000 +Pit. I then unzipped it and found the .Pit file which i flashed onOdin3 v1.85 at the same time with the firmware, have it repartitioned, and install the firmware.
It passed with success. Go Green!!! )
It booted to Philz recovery and installed the zip file superuser, took your advice then rebooted.
My phone switched on but a page came up where i had to give a password decrypting the device storage. Freaked out repeated the same prosesswith Odin and it started up normaly and suprised to see it restored to its original state* *smile*
*Just be carefull not to go flash the wrong stuff on your phone if your not sure what you are doing ( like i did! )*
I took your advice to heart and want to thank you for your expertieze. I learned alot from my phone the past 3days.
Regards.Johan
