I remember when touchpad was introduced HP did a whole shpeal about touch to share which basically used NFC I presume.. so is there a chance of getting NFC working on android or are drivers closed source for it?

It wasn't nfc . it was Bluetooth modified to touch share with other webos devices

Nfc is technically not a heavy sharing medium... It establishes the connection and whatever needed to be transferred went through Bluetooth. Otherwise there was no reason to touch them together

I know what NFC is. The Touchpad doesn't have it.
Touchpad does not have Near Field Communication technologies built into it.

Touchpad doesnot have nfc it just use bluetooth to transfer and communicate with other device!! I have 2 touchpad and that touch thing works between those two but it always prompts me to turn on bluetooth to share stuff!! So no NFC

I was under the impression that's what android relies on as well (that data transfers over Bluetooth once the NFC is established, but it's turned on automatically). Possible HP have there own proprietary system to detect 2 HP products touched together.

I know for a fact it's not my internet as my noise margin is currently at 19.5db download and 25.5db for upload.

Asus, the maker of our N7, had to cut corners to come under $200 mark, so they specc'd a cheap WiFi/Bluetooth chip in the N7. Furthermore, they cut corners on QC, thus the atricious build quality and service issues.

I take this back. It doesn't happen all the time and a reset usually fixes it. Sometimes when I pair my Moga, my play store won't load. I can still surf but some apps wont connect. Rebooting fixes it until I attempt to pair again. Its not every time but about 1 out of 5 times.
I thought it was just the Moga Pivot app at first and I just use the universal driver now... but it still cuts wifi occasionally.
Probably just a quirk with 4.2.1

I have 3 NFC tags, 1 I use near my front door to turn on and off WiFi and the other one on my bedside table to turn on alarm clock.
I have 1 more, and I can't find any uses for it.
I've been searching the internet for good ideas and I didn't find a useful one. Can you help me?

Enable magic packet/wake on lan (WOL) on your computer
Find an app that can send these magic packets to your sleeping computer
Computer is awakened.
I think it works on ethernet LAN too...not sure on that, though.

Have my pi set up running XBMC. my root filesystem is on a 160 G USB hard drive. I am using one of the recommended wifi dongles. Under heavy data transfer, wifi would go offline. Bought one of the tested/approved belkin powered hubs. No more dropped wifi under heavy transfers. Newest issue is if I let it sit idle for more than 3 or 4 hours, the wifi drops and won't come back without a hard reset of the pi. I made changes to the cmdline.txt that fixed it from dropping while idle when the wifi dongle was direct connected. No difference with it on the hub. Pi power supply is a 5v 5a supply, so there is plenty of juice available. Any ideas???

Can you get a log using dmesg once the Wifi dongle drops? That may give some insight.

I can put the hd on the hub and have no issues with it disconnecting. Currently the hd is on the hub and the wifi dongle is on the pi. Loses wifi under heavy network data transfer.

I actually tried this last night but it didnt seem to work. I was trying to pair it with my Nexus S which is running Stock Android 4.1.2.
What I did I turned the wifi of Nook off, then paired it with my nexus s, it could find my nexus but didn't really connect properly (It did sort of paired as I got message from both devices saying that they would like to pair each other). When I then tried to send a file over bluetooth, it just never worked...

so there is currently no any fix for this bluetooth connection issue in CM10.2?
Is CM11 stable enough for daily use?? As I know it has not released a stable version yet.
Read up on making a backup of your 10.2 and then give cm11 a try. If you don't like it you can always go back. Small SD cards are cheap these days.
"Stable" is kind of meaningless imo.
