[Q] Fire Truck shattered my screen. Help!

Just got my Galaxy note on New Years Eve and it's been fantastic but after jumping out of the fire truck to go to a call it went flying out of my pocket and completely shattered.
I bought it on amazon but live in Bermuda. Anyone know which samsung customer service I should contact?
I would say start with Amazon customer support. They should be able to tell you where to call.
Also try calling Samsung Customer Support in Bermuda if you have any.

i kinda hate stock ereader tablets

I hate how barnes and noble and amazon shamelessly push their own markets with locked out devices.
Today i decided to call them the BN "crook" tablet and the Amazon "swindle" fire
my kindle fire isn't really locked out, and it's running cm7 now.. it doesn't have a locked bootloader, that's the nook only.

[Q] No 8.9" Amazon Kindle Fire HD Q&A section?

I'm just wondering if the reasons that this section doesn't exist is because the questions for the 7" tablet will generally also apply to the 8.9"? Or is this just something that has been overlooked?
Just ordered one off Amazon for 200 dollars (offer code + $50 gift card for the credit card deal) and I'm sure to have some questions about it. Just need to know where to ask them.
Thanks!
Hopefully once more of the 8.9's are in service here, they'll add a couple more forums for us.

I'm noticing that alot of the questions I had I found in the 7in pages. The 8.9 is really cool. My son is going to freak this Christmas lol.

Most questions apply to both. They are very similar devices.

Non Advert Model

i paid the regular price of £49.99 for my Fire 7 - which means I should have Special Offers adverts appearing on my tablet. However when locked or in sleep mode there are no special offer adverts popping up on my screen and normal photos show for lock screen. I brought my tablet from Argos UK and not direct from Amazon.
I've checked my device on Amazon and my Fire 7 shows as subscribed for special offers and if i want to remove the advert feature I have to pay Amazon, which is to be expected. If I check the [Special Offers] setting in [Amazon Application Settings] on my Fire 7, my tablet shows the following:
"You can subscribe to Special Offers at any time by visiting Manage your Content & Devices"
It appears that my Fire 7 is not syncing up with Amazon with regards to adverts and that I may just have a non-advert Fire 7 for £49.99 and saved myself £10 to remove it.
Well, lucky you! Hopefully they don't patch them in or something.
My Fire 7 developed some dead pixels So I had to swap it out this morning for a replacement. Just ran the OTA update on the device and same as before:
Amazon UK shows subscribed to Special Offers.
Fire 7 shows the same as before on my last one - "You can subscribe to Special Offers at any time by visiting Manage your Content & Devices"
Has anyone else brought a Fire 7 from a retailer outside of the Amazon Network for the standard price and has no Special Offers enabled?
Would be interesting to see if this could be a one off and that the batch delivered to my local Argos do not have Special Offers enabled? Or is this the case for any other Fire 7 purchased outside of Amazon?

I also have a few dead pixels next to each other on mine. It's frustrating but I'm not sure I can be bothered with the hassle of returning and setting it all up again...
I bought my Fire from Amazon.it and received it on October 2nd, till yesterday the ads didn't show up and there were beautiful wallpapers but suddenly without doing anything strange the ads have started appearing.
Before yesterday Fire showed "You can subscribe to Special Offers at any time by visiting Manage your Content & Devices".
My fire is priced 59€ and it's the "with advert model".

Advice on Fire replacemant!

I bought an Amazon Fire 7 for my 80+ year old dad thinking it was like any other android pad such as those from Asus and so on, only to find it (the fire) is a conduit to the Amazon sales dept. You can't even start the thing up without an Amazon account, to their defense, you don't have to give your payment info up front, but everything else... yes. So I am returning it to Amazon, as I have had no luck other than installing the Play store, that gets a little glitchy with account issues. Every fix, or root process is for OS's lower than the 5.6.0.0 that is on this device. So does anyone have a favorite Android pad suitable for my dear old dad they could recommend? I'd really appreciate it. What about the RCA Voyager?

Tough to answer as everyone's needs differ. I could easily suggest several older Amazon devices equiped with custom ROMs which make excellent Android devices at favorable price points (banging this out on a 3rd gen HDX rocking Android 7.1 that will run circles around most contemporary phones and tablets). But that involves some work on your part with questionable benefits once all is said and done.
I have a fair bit of experience with seniors and gizmos. In most cases simpler is better. Suggest a used iPad mini or (wait for it) a stock Amazon device like the Fire HD 8. While both may make YOU hold your nose pop will probably be quite happy. Good luck.
