The stock ROM/OS is bugged in the fact that it won't detect the lock button being pressed, I am able to turn it on with the lock button. I'm just having problems when in the OS..
So far I've tried..
Factory Reset
Holding down the button
Flicking the button to remove dust etc from beneath it
I can get into the bootloader menu but the button refuses to respond... Hmm

Try a ruu...factory reset just deletes everything...a ruu reinstallation the whole os
Also flicking it will get zero dust out...if you wanna clean it you will have to take the phone apart..
If you can't get it working there's probably some widgets on the playstore you can download that will allow you to lock the phone

So I was texting on my Fuze and it froze. I hard reset it and now it won't start back up. Im using the latest Mercury Energy rom. It starts up, goes to where it plays the start-up sound and says "Energy Rom 3.0" and then stops. I have the touch response installed on it and it still vibrates when u touch it, so I dont think its too bad. Please Help! Thanx

then reflash?
tryed holding the buttons and it didnt do anything.
He's advising that you hard reset. That's what I'd do, too, but if it continues to hang, flash a stock rom. You may need to go into bootloader manually if you do it over usb.
Fixed it please delete.
hard rest verizon phones
i think that verizon has ****ed the customers when i comes to hard resetting i think that they disable the option when you are try to do it with the whole volume button power button the reset thing i have gone through two phones because of this but now i found program that was leaked and it does it for me you go into that mode where you get that multiple colored screen and then once you plug you phone into your computer and then you run it and it hard resets the phone
that would be great if you can share how do you it with us, so any body have this problem can be fixed without asking too much.
I have an HTC Sprint Hero MR 2.27.651.6 stock and when i turn it on it goes well
then when it lets me unlock my phone couple seconds it reboots then it starts the boot process again and in the begging it reboots again
any ideas ?
You can try a hard reset on it.
Power your phone off.
Hold down "home","back", and "power" buttons.
Then you should get a white screen with the 3 androids at the bottom.
You'll see "clearstorage"
(action) yes
(send) no
If you press the trackball then it'll reset.
try that.

same thing. it boots then when im about to slid it opened it restarts the whole process again =(
Did you download any new apps???
If so try uninstalling the newest app.
If that does not work try going into settings and doing a factory reset. But back up all your data first. Good luck

I've got a stock Bionic and noticed recently that the home button, when pressed, causes the screen to flicker but never go back to the home screen. This gets "fixed" sometimes if I pull the battery but not all the time. Also, my search button doesn't do anything when pressed either.
I'm confused as to what could have happened to cause these to buttons to stop functioning. I've tried a factory reset as well and that didn't work.
Anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be and/or what I could try to fix these issues?
Thanks!
This happend on my eris and I had to reflash the stock rom to get it to work again. Are you rooted?

Nope. I haven't had a chance to sit down and root the phone.
I was tinkering with the phone and I noticed one thing...if I disabled the pattern and pin lock (I tried it w/both) the two keys would function correctly. When I enabled the lock again they stopped working....weird!
So across all roms including stock and cm based my touch screen will randomly stop working and i am forced to reboot the phone via the little pin hole method unless i am missing a hardware key reset combo? Anyway the screen turns on and everything looks like it works except the fact that none of my touches register at all? How do i fix this issue? Its not a big deal when i am at home with a pin or pencil but sometimes i am away from home and cant reset it...

Well, just hold down on/off button and power up button for few seconds. You will feel a vibration. It will restart
Hold it a bit more and it will switch off with three vibrations.
I guess you should get your phone checked. It seems to me hardware problem. it could be a bug too but chances are slim!
Secondly, try clearing dalvik and cache but I am afraid it wouldnt be of help!

Volume up and power button does nothing for me at all... Also would sony even look at it if im running a custom rom with an unlocked bootloader? Doesnt that null the warranty>?

Just go on stock rom n relock your bootloader. Sony might ask and make sure you say nothing about rooting, custom rom or anything. Just it's not working well should be the answer.
Secondly, try volume down +power for few seconds when phone is on. Even try volume up+down +power for few seconds.
Make sure you hold these buttons simultaneously.
Hi, i've got a problem with the Home and Back buttons. Sometimes when i double-click the home button becomes locked and i have to lock and turn on the screen for it to work
Is this problem normal? I've got a screensave and i don't know if that can cause it
thanks

Take a look at what you installed prior to issue showing up, if it was the screensaver then remove the screensaver to see if the issue goes away. If it did then it is your cause, if not what else did you do the phone. Don't forget to reboot the phone after each step to clear out any caches or residual programs.
