I tested my xperia z with water and suddenly my speaker sound went low,After 20 min it was again back to normal did anyone had the same strange problem with sound?
Don't worry,it's designed to be that way because the water goes in the speaker and it takes some time(30 mins) to dry.

Read the manual, it says that you have to wait up to 3 hours for it to work properly.

If you put the phone underwater with one of the covers loose it will be water damaged. I guess Bluetooth would be the way to go.

Hi All,
Since the past two days, whenever someone calls and I pick up the phone, the sound comes through the speaker, i.e. very high. I have to reduce that sound using the volume buttoms. This happens with only a few calls, not all. I have a screen protector on the phone, as usual.
I have restarted, reset, etc. to no success.
Can anyone suggest what the problem is?
Thanks
Are you using any sound mod?

I have done that yesterday as well. No luck. The problem still persists.
mine is like that as well. i can hear it even in the back of the phone... I checked clearsound and uncheck xloud and it got a little better but i still need to turn down the volume to people not listen to my conversation :x
when you state "speaker" you are referring to the speaker on the bottom right?
or do you mean the vibration through the back (near the camera area)?
edit: just did a test, it feels like its coming out from the speaker speaker but its not, the sound feels like its actually coming from the near back. I guess its not sealed tightly or just xperia z has really good loud earphone speaker.
No i was talking about the call speaker. Sry if i misunderstood

You have to wait for the speaker cover to dry properly.
It will come back to normal once its dried.

Are you sure? It's been 2 hours now ..
Have you had a similar experience?
It can take a while to dry. 2 hours is short.

The manual says to let the speaker dry for at least 3 hours before using it again.
Although, it's fairly obvious that hardly anyone that has the phone has even glanced at the manual

Send it for repair. That is the only course of action for water damage if drying the phone out thoroughly hasn't worked.

Yes. As I recall from your previous thread about this, you powered the phone up after water got in, so it's highly likely that something is permanently damaged.

I doubt you would want to apy at the rates they charge. When I wanted to replace my screen on my arc they gave me a crazy estimate of over a £100. Just turn phone off open all flaps and leave it to dry for a few weeks.

Try putting it inside a container of dry rice for a few hours. The rice should absorb the water from the phone if there is any left, and the speaker should go back to its normal volume.
just wait ~3 hours, that is normal

So i wanted to buy a (wired) waterproof headphones like one of these ( http://www.x-1.com/store/sport-headphones/waterproof-headphones.html ) after buying a great waterproof phone but i have a few questions
Is it ok for the phone and the headset to be noth submerged in water? Knowing that it uses wire and a 3.5mm jack. Being submerged will it have any adverse effects in z1?
Thanks in advance
