Hi, I had my bootloader unlocked before the possibility to root and install a recovery with a locked bootloader.
I understand that is it possible to revert back and relock the bootloader (and get the Bravia Engine back) my question is: is it worth it? Can I flash every rom with a locked bootloader? Are there "side effects"?
Thanks!

I dont even dare to relock the bootloader. (Not that I was planning to do so anyway.)
He fixed it using SUS.
Also, I do not think relocking will get you BE2 back.
Correct me if Iam wrong.
Kind regards, Stefan.

The guy in that thread just messed up his Rom and kernel that why our didn't boot.
All he have to do is to flash the stock Rom again
As for BE, for now no one was able to get it back after relocking

And the way flashing a kernel via fastboot won't work for us?

Forget about unlocking the bootloader, its not possible. No over/under-clock for you, no CyanogenMod or other goodies.
All carrier branded phones are locked and almost impossible to unlock.

Only thing I can recommend is to get a generic device instead of a carrier one.
No use lamenting about it here.
This message was sent so that I'm slightly more useful

How should overclock work, stock kernels are not able to be setted higher.
Under-clock is possible yes.

Some people say that rooting solves the problem (XZ only?), some say unlocking the sim works

is there chance to have -Bootloader Unlock Allowed: No - when my phone is from shop ? ( not from carrier, not branded)
I think that it's not the matter of branded/not branded etc. beacuse I've seen bootloader unlock allowed: yes after I rooted and installed CWM and TWRP; today I've reverted rooting via SPC and the bootloader unlock allowed is back on: no; so I think someone has to look through it to see if you can override it...

I doubt the Sony bootloader will be cracked any time soon as the Xperia T was never cracked and thats a much older device.
Unfortunately that means no custom kernels/CyanogenMod.
If you buy a factory unlocked device the bootloader will be unlockable/carrier branded devices may be locked and not unlock able.. Pretty simple really.
Sorry that I can't help much.
Un-lock Xpeia SP
If you Un-lock the Xperia SP for all Networks, does this make bootloader Unlock available?
If not, any Ideas why?
Been answered many times before.

Nope. SIM-UNLOCK is separate to bootloader unlock.
It just doesn't.
On some old xperia phones you could open sim and bootloader like xperia arc if you used test point method to unlock sim it unlocked boot loader as well.
2013 xperia models that don't have removable battery are no longer able to use test point so you can't unlock boot loader or sim.
To unlock sim you need code which you cab buy from internet.
To unlock bootloader you need to contact your airtime provider and see if they will help in unlocking bootloader again this needs code but not freely available.

I have a question... I try the leaked 4.3 ROM by DooMLoRD, but it works really really really bad for me!
Now i RE-LOCK my bootloader and i flash stock rom. I am wondering if now my phone is still rooted and if i can get the 4.3 update when is released...?
You will have lost root by flashing stock ROM... by going back to stock you will get updates via phone and PCC.

@Jared89 if u have took the backup of TA partition.
And then relocked the BL with the latest flashtool and restore the TA then u will be as good a new.
U can get all the updates.

U can still flash the latest official when released.
So its not a worry.

So my bootloader is unlocked and my device rooted, trouble is every recovery I flash doesn't want to boot. I'm on the three branded 257 firmware, is there anything I can use or do I need to upgrade to a newer one?

Short answer : No.
Unlock your bootloader or wait for an exploit/prerooted rom.

I don't think you understand. There are some devices where you cannot unlock the bootloader at all, even if you wanted to, therefore that guide is no use to people that own those devices.
I'm not asking for help by the way. I have an unlockable bootloader and am fully aware of how to root.

Just search in the Xperia Z Android development and look for the rooted 4.4.2 roms by @Rajeev and @zippy01 and follow the steps howto install and tadaa you have root on a locked bl !!!

LOL indeed.
Please people read and understand what I was responding to before quoting me and trying to be clever again. Posting a guide that requires unlocking then relocking the bootloader is not a method of rooting with a locked bootloader for the reasons in the post of mine that you quoted without reading properly.
We all know that you can downgrade to gain root and flash any stock based rom that you want. You will see that I already suggested it in the second post of this thread.

Hey,
I've got a Sony Xperia z1 which I will be selling now and I need to get it to factory settings. Im currently running CM11 and am rooted, unlocked bootloader and have a custom recovery. Are there any guides that will get me back to stock firmware and is it possible to get it back so that no one knows it was ever rooted ?? When I unlocked the bootloader I backed up my TA partition.
Thnx

you can flash the latest official firmware via flashtool(root, recovery gone) than you relock your bootloader and use the TA partition.
good luck

Sorry to bother again but Im a bit of a noob :/ In which order do I proceed then ?? Does flashing the FTF via flashtoolget rid of the custom recovery and root the device ? Then I have to relock the bootloader via flashtool too and then restore the TA partition ???
Flash the FTF, root using newroot, restore your TA, flash the FTF again.

Well, warranty fraud is not condoned on XDA. I have told you how to relock your bootloader and return your phone to a stock state.
If unlocking your bootloader voided your warranty then its voided no matter what you do after that,
