Hi all,
If I unlock the bootloader and flash CM, will the noise cancelling with 2nd mic still work or will I lose it?
Also, has perhaps anyone tested how efficient the noise cancelling is?
Thank you.

hi people
im having a problem with my kiaser
the speakers ain working first i thought ive busted it up somehow like you know normal damage etc
but today the speakers came on for like a few seconds etc
so i thought it might have been software wise is there a way i can found out if it is hardware or software?
thanks
Just a few questions:
a) Are you talking about phone sound? (i.e. when you are in a call), or all sound (like when you are playing music)
b) Is it just sound from the main speaker, or do earphones/BT headsets work?
c) Do ringtones work?
Sound is mostly the domain of the radio, so have you flashed a new radio lately? Maybe it is incompatible with your ROM?
the service manual suggests to clean the speaker contacts...
speaker not working
i have the same problem can anyone help

As Dr. puts it out there is a good chance that radio is triggering this. Radio, rom and country. Just a help halp wount save you here

no im refering to sounds as in like...umm sliding sounds if im in a call and i want to put it to loudspeaker music on loudspeaker so overall that ain working
b) Is it just sound from the main speaker, or do earphones/BT headsets work?
its just the main speaker
c) Do ringtones work?
no no ringtones work

im running on L26_KaiserTouch_Manilla [[[ 3D ]]] V4 Testversion!
and im running on one of the radios that are recommened im in the UK if that helps?
As dr. asked what part of the sounds doesnt work? None at all? If so, this is what I would have done;
1st I would try another radio (just to check if we can solve it easy)
2nd I would hard reset (probobly wount help but saves time if so).
3rd I defently would reflash to stock ROM whit stock radio.
This wil give us good answers if not pointers whats triggering this. Since the speaker came on today I suspect its not a hard problem but soft, and thats a good thing mate
Just acquired one of these phones today and seem to be having a slightly strange issue and hoping someone might know the resolution.
When on a call, the other person cannot hear me at all (they can hear nothing as-if the microphone is muted, it's not!), however if I switch to speakerphone they can hear me fine.
This is happening on any ROM, except unofficial CM10.1 where the microphone does not work at all.
In external apps the mic does not work either (so if I record a video, I get no sound).
I'm having trouble seeing this as a mic hardware issue as it works OK on speakerphone, any ideas on this?
Cheers!

Does this happen on stock rom as well?
Yeah I've put it back to the Samsung firmware (Carphone Warehouse UK, 2.3.6) and still doing the same thing.
Interestingly, on stock-based ROMs the Mic works on speakerphone (Still nothing anywhere else), but on CM-based or ported ROMs, the mic does not work at all!
Just to confirm, the Galaxy Mini does have just a single mic right? Haha!
no known damages at all. yes rooted, i have flashed multiple roms, so i dont think its software, i think it's a hardware problem so i'm asking if there's a way around it. Yes I have sound enhancement disabled and yes I have cleaned it with a brush
problem - when making a call on-ear, the mic doesn't work. when i put it in speaker the mic works again.
therefore i ask, does the phone using a different mic between on-ear and speaker? if the answer is yes, how can i switch which mic it uses? if the answer is no, what is wrong with the phone?

If your signature is correct then you have a OnePlusOne and this is a HTC One M7 forum. The phones are different and if it is a hardware issue you will need to return it to the manufacturer for repair. I would guess that there is just one mic and I would go back to stock to see if the problem is evident there, if not then it is a software issue.
Hello everyone, I'm relatively new to android.I am currently using an SXL as a temporary phone until my replacement iPhone arrives and I'm having some trouble with it.
During calls I find that I can hear the other party loud and clear but they can hardly hear me.I have to cup the base of the phone and talk into it to be audible to the other party.
I'm using a Vodafone Australia SXL in India with carrier BSNL.
It's running the latest official ROM for Vodafone Australia with Android 4.0.3,S-On and locked bootloader.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance !
Also, the audio when I'm using speaker phone or using the voice recorder on the phone the microphone volume is at a good level.
I'm guessing this has something to do with the noise cancelling mics?
Is there any way to disable them ?
Hi there! I've got a pair of MDR-NC31EM, the ones that allow to use the noise cancellation feature of the z3c. Since that feature is managed by the phone itself, I was wondering if that feature still works when using a custom rom?

It still works as long as you don't unlock your bootloader or use a third-party Audio Engine like Viper4Android.

is this function related to the drm keys or can it be ported to work also with custom roms?

Well unlocking the bootloader removes the "Noise Cancellation Feature" on the Z3 and Z3 Compact unless of course you learned/know how to backup DRM Keys and restore them after unlocking.

Well, there is that one patch that one can apply which apparently restores the photo in low light algorithm, not sure if that also fixes the noise cancellation though. Cheers!
