Bit of a weird one which I'm hoping someone can help with. When I plug my rooted KFHD 7 into my windows 8 pc, all the files and folders on the KFHD seem to be duplicated in windows explorer. I've checked in ES but they're not duplicated on the device.
Has anyone experienced this themselves and found a solution.
Cheers

I had that experience, and the only thing that "cured" it was a catastrophic boot-loop & system reset. Not much help, I'm afraid.
Sure it isn't a backup img? My first guess.

Windows Media Player 10 has just uninstalled itself from my BA... short of a hard reset and start again, how can I get it back? I tried a hard reset then copy the files from the windows folder but it wont let me copy them!!
For now, I have restored my previous setup, and I will try to instlal the older WMP 7.1... but its really annoying.
Can anyone tell me for example how to access protected files? Can I access the device in bootloader mode from a computer perhaps?
Thanks for you help!
I spoke too soon.. upon trying to do an ActiveSync restore after a hard reset, it tells me I cannot restore since the restore was created from a different kind of mobile device... bollocks, HELP!!!
Alright, Ive restored OK... thats that crisis over.
And post-restore, the media player prog is back in the windows folder but start icon isnt, so will put that back manually.
However I suppose my original question still stands, is there any way to access those locked system files e.g. for copying?
I'm thinking acessing the PPC when windows isnt loaded is the way to do it?

You are right. I am looking for a method to access window folders in bootloader mode or before tapping on screen. But, I didnĀ“t find it anywhere.

Hi Dear friend i need one simple help.
Hope some one kind will help me sure.
Actually i am facing Windows Phone IP over USB Transport (IpOverUsbSvc) problem.
I checked C:\Program Files \Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Phone Tools\CoreCon\11.0\Bin\IpOverUsbSvc.exe
Not found.
if Some one Have installed windows phone 8 SDK...pls copy this exe and upload for me..
Its will very helpfull for me to fix error...
Try removing and re-installing the SDK... if that file isn't present, your install was messed up somehow. There are probably more problems than just one missing file, too.
Thanks for reply...now i have installed...wp 8 sdk light version...and that's working fine....

I don't have a problem copying files to it from my Windows 8.1 PC. Do you have USB Debugging enabled in Developer Options?

Interesting; I just tried it on my Surface Pro and it doesn't display any folders on the OM2 at all...
you dont have to use sync manager but i advise to install because youll get the latest drivers for your phone
Just got my nexus 6 yesterday, I've downloaded the latest Android USB drivers as well as the SDK and the phone is successfully recognized.
I have a problem when transfer a file larger than 4GB (eg. HD videos) from my windows laptop to my Nexus 6 via MTP
It just hang and not responding. No issues if file size is less than 4GB.
(my device rooted and non-encrypted btw)
I think it's not the file system problem as it was ext4 and I can have a single file that larger than 4GB available in the device.
For now I just fix it by zip the file into several parts, transfer to n6 and decompress it, Which is really annoying.
Tried some wireless transfer like AirDroid, SuperBeam but the speed is not satisfied, it takes about half an hour for a 4GB file
I think the problem is MTP. Is anyone else facing this issue?
Any Solution? Please Help.
Thanks

why are you transferring those files to your phone? they are files that need to be installed in your computer/laptop.

I usually have boring times when travelling to my workplace (It takes so long because of traffic jam in rush hour)
I think it would be great to watch a movie in n6 as my laptop is too heavy to bring outside. But most of HD movies are >4GB.
Do you have the same issue? I wonder is it just me facing this problem.

i believe that you are limited to anything under 4GB for a file transfer. of course you can try adb sideload or adb push.
movies i understand, but why transfer the sdk and drivers to your phone is what i dont understand. and i never installed the whole adk, just adb for dummies, which was only 36mb.

Thank you for the suggestion, I'll try:fingers-crossed:
Sorry if I make a misunderstanding in my words. I didn't transfer sdk to my phone,
I just give a background that I've installed all the SDK and drivers to clarify that my device is successfully connected and recognized.
Just tested transferring the same file with my friend's Samsung Galaxy S6 and Nexus4( KitKat ParanoidAndroid ROM )
And things are working fine, I can transfer the file(~6GB single file) to both S6 and Nexus4 without any problem/hang using MTP.
So I think the problem is not MTP anymore.
Is the issue is about N6 file system or is it just my device having this issue?
Any help?
Thank you.
