I like the idea of this phone, and am interested in buying one. I'm hoping those who have them can help me with these two questions:
1. For those who use google voice: Does the outgoing call display the correct number, or does it display the google voice gateway number, like the Galaxy S3 or Galaxy Note II?
2. Does AVRCP work? Can you see the title of the song and so on (AVRCP 1.3)?
Thanks!

I have a question regarding google voice (I know, you wouldn't be able to tell by the title right?)
Anyway, somewhere I saw that when you recieve a call from Google Voice, a little white box comes down letting you know you're getting a call from google voice. I don't see that. In fact, I have two options, either I see it coming in as my google voice number (which doesn't let me see who is calling), or I have the number come in straight (which means I can't tell if it is google voice or regular number).
What I mainly use it for is Google Voice is my business number, while my personal number is well.. my personal number. Anyone have any pointers?

go to google.com/voice
settings>calls
if you want to know that it's from google voice that the number is calling, set it to caller id (in) > display my google voice number. but, you won't know who it is that's calling, only that they're calling from gv
then after you do the above turn on the caller presentation in the options where you have to press the 1 to answer the call
I guess what I'd like isn't possible as of now. There should be a way for the phone to tell if a call is coming via google voice (since it is coming through the data) and distinguish it as such. I'll keep playing around with it for now I guess.

Google voice doesn't use data for calls, currently.

this is a fact
what i meant with the caller presentation is it will make the person speak their name and when you pick up the phone you will hear "Call from..."persons name" press 1 to answer the call, " and then it gives you some options such as sending to voice mail and listening in on the call while they leave you a voice mail
I noticed the "call phone" option is now appearing in gmail using skyfire. Is there a voice plugin that the nexus one can use? The regular voice plugin doesn't work.
Does anybody know? This would give us free calls from Canada to USA and vice versa. Is there a plugin or can one be ported to nexus one?

But how to speak if the camera has no mic ? With bluetooth headset ? And contacts have to call you on your skype number, or Google voice account, not on your phone number if you put your sim into this camera ?
- Of course, bluetooth works fine
- But, you are mistaken, the camera has a built in mic. (for recording movies)
- You can listen in speakerphone mode or normal phone mode.
- I forwarded my ATT # to my Google Voice # so they both come to the camera.
* The only "weirdness" is that when I call out people see the Google Voice #.

Hi im coming from a note 3, and I was able to use the voicemail playback in call log feature that google voice has. It seems that this either doesnt work or is not supported on the M8, would anyone happen to have a fix or know how to make this work?
I currently have a Samsung Gear S, and it works with Samsung's Tizen OS. (Tizen is a bit lacking in the applications department.)
Nevertheless, I am thinking of getting the LG Watch Urbane, and I wanted to know if I will be able to have regular SMS functionality if I use the Verizon Messages+ application on my phone as my default SMS client.
Thank you.
It's required that you use the Verizon messenger+ to make calls on the watch.
Really? So, I have to use Verizon Messages+ to make calls? So, you have to use that SMS client if you want to make calls from the watch?
Is that what it uses for the SMS messages to be sent on the watch?
(On a side note - what if I got my watch at Best Buy - which I did...?)

Which version of the watch did you purchase? W200A or W200V? I have the AT&T version and I do not use the SMS client to make calls. I don't use Verizon so I use Google messenger as my SMS client. There is a separate phone app for calls.
