PPSSPP is future of emulation PSP on ANDROID. Unfortunately (or fortunately) our device has INTEL x86 processor inside, so bone-based-software needs to be rewritten/optimized/compiled to use full potential (or just work) on Razr I.
But to the point ... Henrik, main programmer of PPSSPP is porting it to x86, and he needs help - nothing complicated, he needs someone to test some things on hardware.
If anyone can help (and knows about emulation, and knows about ppsspp, and has got some psp games or knows how to get them) then can CONTACT WITH HENRIK on ppsspp forum (best PM hiim your email address).

I would also like to know if anyone knows of games (or apps) specifically designed to run on the Xscale cpu (not ARM designed that just happen to run on an xscale like a ZX81  !)
I have looked all over but I think it is maybe too early in the day for xscale only stuff, prove me wrong!
God i love the helpfull responses some people give !!
anyway try this site i came accross a while ago .. www.pdagold.com look under the freeware section its FULL off apps/games/utils all of which are free.

Xscale is a specific CPU, but it is ARM architecture, so ARM does not mean it's not Xscale optimised.

Hello!
I am thinking about buying a htc diamond but i am concerned with what i read about graphic performance of this device. Is it really that bad? I would like to play some games on it (among other things). Does it have problems handlig common games or its just few games that do not run smoothly? I would sacrifice some really demanding games but if it is more serious than that ,it is an issue I can't overcome.
First of all, the Diamond isn't a dedicated multimedia device so you cannot expect stunning graphics from it's video chipset. Sure, you can find alot of nice 3D games around that work great on the Diamond, some with some tweaks here and there ( Flux Challenge, COD 2, Quake, Anthelion, etc. ), but that really depends on your expectations. Those "demanding games" you mentioned don't shed any light on the situation. Please be more specific!
I dont intend to use it as a gaming as a gaming platform but struggling to find a game hat will run smoothly won't make me happy. Is it just a small number of games that diamond will have problems with or is it a majority? (I am not a windows mobile user yet and so i am not familiar with its games)
The Diamond should handle pretty much any Pocket PC game you throw at it.

The HTC Touch Diamond can handle any PPC game.
Do u know that in Diamond there is an AMD Imageon 3D Hardware chip?
Search in the forum, there's a D3D driver for handling all D3D hardware requests.
That thing will infinitely speed up D3D Hardware rendering.
Apparently, some emulator developers (besides the MAME dev, which is great) are starting to pick up on Open GL and put our GPU to some good use. The Doom port has already done so and runs perfect 3D and the MAME emu. is coming along nicely. Well thats great and all but where is our SNES emulator?! It's coming apparently and it appears to let you search for you own ROMs (an earlier NES emulator stuck you with a very limited and illegal amount of ROMs, lol) Well, enough talk! Here's the link...
http://www.supergnes.com/blog/
(I don't work for these folks. I merely searched for NES/SNES emulators for Android. I thought more would be around now and soon since Open GL was added to 1.5 These folks and future developers deserve some recognition, I believe)
Looks promising! An SNES emulator is exactly what Android needs!
Sounds great hope they make an nes emulator too!
Yeah, I am also looking forward to a NES emulator. I think it will just run better. May be with a 600 mhz processor (and OpenGL plus GPU) we could run SNES/Sega just as fast though...
I appreciate the efforts, but they are a little rough on the eyes without a fit to screen option, since everything is real small. I hope the SDK allows for scaling without killing the frame rate - especially with sound on.
As soon as the MAME emu has scaling- I will donate $20 to it.
I'm thinking about buying x1 as cheapest andro phone with wvga, hardware qwerty and hardware supportet opengl(my toshiba g900 don't have only that, and works on andro are very slow) I have a few questions:
( In brackets i will pu state of my toshiba in it ( for inquisitives))
1. Has Xperia android nand version?? ( soon , it will avalible surely be to New Year)
2. Could someone put video with playing games on xperia android ??
3. How runs 3d wvga games ,for example from moto milestone/x10?? ( Don't ask, for only android work a bit fast , resolution must be changed to wqvga)
4 . -||- 2d wvga games (-||-)??
my dear friend u can not expect our xperia to get android kernels updates bcz there is no coordination amongst us to complete work and ports will not fulfill ur requirements of gaming get ur self a new android device
1. Nope. And i think you will not see it anytime soon.
3, 4. Xperia have old GPU which is not capable of handling newer graphically demanding 3D games. Simple 2D games like Doodle Jump works perfectly. Some, like Robo Defense works so-so, but still kinda playable. But big part of the games don't work. It would be just too slow and have weird lines across the screen.
@gaurav_v ah don't be so negative. There are quite an updates. Devs in kernel development are building releases based on each other's kernels.

^Thats gonna get taken down. It shouldnt though since those developers wont sell a version for our phones.
There is a version of Pinball THD around that has the tegra check removed. I hoping this can be done to all THD games so I dont have to mess around with chainfire.
Devs need to realize tegra devices are maybe 5% of all android devices. And not all those users are going to buy games. So they are targeting maybe 3% of android users.
If people starting buy THD games to use with chainfire then devs will continue to make tegra only games.
I agree with you BenKranged i also think that google should step to the plate like they did with the carriers and the phone companys to stop this fragmentation and stop Nvida paying off the devs and the devs charging 6 to 7$ for games.
also i think terga devices make up less of the market
Nvida profts for this quater says that only 6.25% is the percentage of all tegra based products make up in there profits
Thx alot squishy for the detailed guide, I'm having succes with all of the games u posted,no lag at all to my surprise exept samurai II which doesnt even wanna load, the game starts but loading the missions does not so basicly menu browsing only.
P.S. I'm running Mosaic III D with xcal #15 vodoo enabled
Backstab anyone?
Anyone manage to get Backstab working? If so, how?
TIA, if not, no worries.
Sweet
