One clock root - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

can someone advise me if his software will root the sony xperia z without any problems?
thanks

I do not think there is a app you can install that will let you do so.
But there are a few methods:
For locked and unlocked:
[ROOT] Xperia Z for LOCKED, UNLOCKED bootloaders! [Exploit by: goroh_kun & huhka_com]
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2186368
Or for unlocked only:
[ROOT] Xperia Z (C660x) for unlocked bootloaders ONLY! (RELEASED)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2154310
Kind regards, Stefan.

if done incorrectly, can the phone be bricked?

All went fine here, I used the 2nd option myself,
Rooting your phone or modifying it always is at your own risk.
But before your root please note: the only way to keep bravia engine 2 is by using the first method.
If you unlock the bootloader you will lose it, however you will be able to use custom kernels when unlocked.
Kind regards, Stefan.

The BE2 is an advanced contrast enhancer brings out the details in your videos and pictures. If you take a picture, you will see the picture auto-adjust itselfs. It gives the picture more lifelike glow! (One thing i don't want to lose on the phone)
Looking for too root myself, but need more experience with Android and the codes. Im still new but getting more and more confident every day!

If you are in JB, there is no way to relock the bootloader but Bravia will definitely work with "Movies" even with unlocked bootloader.
I'm not too sure about "Album" because I havent seen a clear difference (Can anyone confirm this btw?).
If you are in ICS however, neither Bravia nor music info download from Gracenote will work until you relock the bootloader. And yes it is possible. Search the threads.
I've seen that Download Music works on JELLY BEAN. but in album pur example it doesnt work not a little difference!
I've searched but only found the xperia S version..but I can t do it because I need things for xperia T

And also damn..i shouldn't unlocked my phone.

Unlock Bootloder

I have a one simple Question, Does any one know how to unlock the bootloder in sony xperia z (unofficially) officially not possible.
thank you.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153261
However, note that the method in that thread will not allow you to unlock if the status of your bootloader is "Unlock allowed : No"
Check this by entering *#*#7378423#*#* in the dialler then look in Service Info -> Configuration

You said the official method was not possible, not that your bootloader is permanently locked. There is a difference, as there is an unofficial method of using your unlock token
The security on the bootloader is very very strict and is unlikely to be broken any time soon, if ever. There have been discussions on it by some very knowledgeable people on these forums and they all seem to conclude that there's no way around it.

If it was possible then there would be a thread about it and a link to it would probably be found in one of the stickys as there isn't and you can't then just like the rest of us you will have to wait.

Wow, I've been a member here for over three years, I've had an X10 an Arc a Ray and now an Z and I've never heard of Omnius before. Please tell me how that or any other such service is going to unlock unlockable devices.

Without an unlocked bootloader you can't use custom kernels which in turn means you can't use such ROMs I'm afraid.

[Q] Xperia Z1 C6903 Vodaphone, Bootloader unlock : not allowed. How to ?

Dear All,
First i thank you for you huge contribution to human needs in this planet ! You Rock dear community.
I'm more a reader than a contributor in most forums, i usually find the answers only by searching other people posts, but this time i couldn't find an answer .
I have an Xperia Z1 C6903, Vodaphone (i guess from spain), running Kitkat 4.4.2 with latest firmware 14.3.A.0.757.
I was trying to root it, i red practically all the methods here in the forums & elsewhere, and there was always one step that i couldn't bypass : UNLOCKING THE BOOTLOADER.
I took my code from Sony website, i tried many methods in vain. In my Phone it shows of course : Bootloader unlocking allowed : NO
My question is very simple : Is there on earth (even on other planets i can take the trip) any method to unlock my bootloader ?
Thanking you All in advance, and apologizing if this question is already answered in another topic, i really couldn't find it.
Awaiting your Help Dear Community.
Best Regards,
NO! There is no way to unlock it, there is no way around. Sony will generate the Code from your IMEI anyway but if will not work. Do not even try on Earth to find a way because there is not.
There is absolutely no need to unlock the bootloader in order to root.
Which is good news for you because you cannot unlock anyway.
In order to get root on the latest firmware then you just need to follow the link in my signature

Thanks All for your quick responses !
@gregbradley, excuse my question, but have you done this before on unlocked Z1 ? i mean will have full access to my phone ? (Install Super user, Titanium backup ... etc etc )
Thnaks Again.
once or twice
Just follow the 3 steps in the link
There is no need to unlock the bootloader, no need to backup TA partition (You only do that id you are unlocking the bootloader anyway), no need to use any dodgy rooting methods (Like Vroot etc)
Flash a 534 FTF
Install dual recovery
Flash a pre rooted rom
Takes about 10 minutes

Hello Again,
Done ! The method worked for me, my Z1 is fully rooted now even with my locked bootloader ! Thanks again
Only, and for those reading this post, specially Xperia Z1 C6903 owners, for step one you have to pick a specific FTF file and not any FTF ending with 534, The only one working (and gaining you Root access later on the process) is FW 14.1.G.1.534
Although you are on a recent FW, don't worry, after accomplishing the other steps, you will be back to the latest one.
N.B i tried many of the FTF ending with 534, but it didn't work except for FW 14.1.G.1.534
Cheers.

how can i make UBL?

I'm a xperia z3c docomo user, with UBL status = No.
how can i make UBL?
thanks for who can help me
1) disable drivers signature (win10/8) https://www.howtogeek.com/167723/ho...-8.1-so-that-you-can-install-unsigned-drivers
2) just follow this tutorial: https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3...-carbonrom-t3529766/post74288891#post74288891
3) and you will need a patience...
recommended is flashing carbon rom (aosp 7.1.1): https://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/development/cr-5-1-carbonrom-t3529766
works perfectly, without bugs/lags, battery is better than stock .291 with Sony Stamina

Did you mean Bootloader Unlock Allowed=NO?
In that case, don't follow those instruction.
up
Mine is Bootloader Unlock Allowed=NO. I believe the only possibility is a Sony service centre. If you find an alternative let us know!
