Some question about C6603 and C6602 - Xperia Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I'm from Vietnam and I'm going to buy a brand new Xperia Z from SONY Vietnam (C6602).
I knew the only different between C6603 and C6602 is that C6603 support LTE.
Somebody tell me that I should buy C6603 because it has LTE band IV (while Vietnam does not have 4G yet, may be two or three years later) and C6603 will has "tons" of ROM.
I have read somewhere that C6602 can be flashed with C6603's ROMs. Is it right?
Thanks for reading!

Correct. You can flash C6603 ROMs on C6602.
EDIT: Correct me if I am wrong.

Thanks everyone

Yes you can..Lte is a seperate module and rest of the phone is same..So every rom will work with the exception of lte of course.

So, If I buy C6602, and flash a C6603 ROM into it. I can use LTE network, am I right?

No you can't. C6602 doesn't support LTE therefore, by using a C6603 ROM, you will not be able to use LTE.
If you want to use LTE, get the C6603.

No, you won't be able to use LTE as that needs the hardware with LTE module, since C6602 does not have that there will be no LTE, but you can flash the rom from c6603.

Hello,
I read this topic but I'm not really sure I've understood everything:
- If we use a C6602 official rom (so that it contains C6602's baseband) on a LTE Xperia Z, will the phone be able to connect to a LTE network (and will the 4G icon appear) ?
- If we use a C6603 firmware on a C6602 phone, the latter won't have any network issue ?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
The 6606 is LTE as the 6603 so it's normal that the icon appears on your phone.
But the 6602 is 3G only so I was wondering whether a 6602 firmware on a 6603/6606 phone would allow 4G to run and the 4G logo to appear.

First, you bumped a 5 months old topic to ask your question. Secondly, wait more than 4 hours before bumping your question. This is not your personal support forum.

That being said, try deleting the contents of the directory Flashtool\firmwares\prepared then try flashing again.

6602 does not support LTE.
However 6603 and 6602 can use the same firmware.
I do not think flashing this firmware to a 6602 will make it magically support LTE.
Kind regards, Stefan.

But the hardaware between 6602 and 6603 was no different,
Has anyone tried it?
Funny that my XZ was C6603 (Singapore). The phone change to C6602 after I flash Thai stock rom. I will try to flash original stock rom back again. I will inform later for how it can change back to C6603 or not.

You can flash any other region's 4.2.2 ftf with flashtool. The only difference really is the bands supported. If you really wanted to, you can not flash the radio and just flash the rom, as long as it's C6603

[Q] Sony Xperia Z1 Unknown IMEI/Baseband. Any solution?

I purchased the phone on eBay the other day however I cannot make/receive calls as there is no network signal nor WiFi. I found out that the IMEI and Baseband are missing and UNKNOWN. I made some research and apparently I need an EFS backup. I have no backups whatsoever as bought the phone from second hand just a while ago. I reflashed it using the flashtool but it didn't resolve my issue. Is there ANY way at all to fix Sony Xperia Z1 IMEI and Baseband? ANY at all other than going to the Sony Repair Service and ... replacing the motherboard which would cost same as the new phone. I would really appreciate any advice, help and some useful links!
Many thanks

Are you on the newest firmware with Android 4.3? Imei can be lost when you someone downgrades from 4.3 to 4.2.2. It should come back once you get back on the new firmware.
Try a few 4.3 FTF's and see if it solves the problem.

Usually flashing the same firmware that you were on in the begining should fix the problem. All I can advise you is to try a few firmwares (same version and same localization) that you have had in the beginning with same android and build version. Try it until it comes back. It has to come back eventually.
The firmware is usually lost when you downgrade from 4.2 to 4.3. Once you upgrade to 4.3 it should return to the normal state. Are you sure that you are flashing firmware builds for your model number?
C6903 on C6903 etc.

Thank you for the quick reply. Znam Polski. : )
IMEI - "Unknown"
I do not know what Rom was before the upgrade to 4.3
On the box it says. Si 1276-2646 DE.
This Rom 4.3 which I flash "C6903_14.2.A.1.136_1276-4314 R1B Central Europe.ftf"
Probably the then everything disappeared.
Then I flash ".257> .290> .534"
Nothing has changed, I used an update by SUS.
SUS Flash Rom ".136" appeared restarts.
I went back to ".290"
I typed in Google Si 1276-2646 DE, I found Rom "C6903_14.1.G.1.518_GenericDE.ftf" thinking it was the "first". Unfortunately appeared bootloop. I had to go back to the ".290"
do you have the C6902 or the C6903?
I have a friend who had same case like yours, he contacted me on my gmail account, and i told him to check with variant he has... he was flashing C6903 but his phone was the C6902. however, this didn't solve his problem, so I told him u need to find a C6902 firmware ROM that came flashed in phone first time out of the box. eventually, he flashed his Z1 a C6902firmware which matches his phone network fuctions, and BAM.. IMEI and BASEBAND back to life with network and also WIFI.
just check your phone model and make a try, it worth it...

not all the cases succeed, depend if its a H/W problem, then it's hardbricked phone!
but maybe the latest update would fix this issue, not sure thou, because It was even worse from 4.2.1 to 4.2.2 or 4.3.

H/W problem or Hardbricked depend on the phone's issue in which it was hardbricked. in some cases it can still make the phone turn on if it's related radio functionality , cuz It could be the modem or Chip. like imei and baseband problem.

[Q] Xperia TL LTE Band Questions

Hello All,
I got a Xperia TL (LT30AT) with original AT&T ICS (4.0.4) on it, I want flash it with JB 4.3 LT30P Rom, according to other threads I need exclude the baseband in order to keep LTE, so quick questions:
1.- Do I need to first flash it with AT&T JB 4.1.2 first in order to have the latest LTE baseband? or is OK to flash it from 4.0.4 to 4.3 with baseband excluded?
2.- Why the we need to exclude the baseband when flashing this phone with LT30p firmware?, as far as I understand the LTE capability is hardware related, if you flash lt30p with lt30at rom you must not gain LTE, so why flashing lt30at with lt30p rom lose LTE option?
Regards!
You answered your own question about the flashing lt30at with a lt30p. So the baseband holds all the drivers/code for the phone.
The best example I can give you is the ps3, sure all the hardware and the boards are the same, but there are slight differences in the chipset, this means that old software from a old ps3 won't work on a new ps3 model, hence a min version downgrade that can be performed.
The same sort of applies here, because of the slight differences in the chipset you can't use a baseband from one on the other.

If I were you, I would flash baseband from 9.2.A.0.295 Bell Canada, that is android 4.3
which you can find here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2648320

but LT30a has additional bands that LT30at does not:
4G Network
LT30at - (BC4) 1700 MHz, (BC17) 700 MHz,
LT30a - (BC2) 1900 MHz, (BC4) 1700 MHz, (BC5) 850 MHz, (BC17) 700 MHz
or does not matter?

Good question, I didn't know that.
LT30at is a different phone technically?
Anyway you can flash 4.1.2 baseband for the moment, I know it works.
Have you seen this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2695394

Hello dude, thanks for the thread I will follow that guide, and yes LT30at is a unique version released in US only for AT&T specific lte networks,
Also there is a little issue in your firmware compilation thread, lt30at = xperia TL, lt30a = xperia T, you can see the white papers on sony website
Xperia T (LT30p) White Paper
Xperia T (LT30a) White Paper
Xperia TL (LT30at) White Paper
Also you can add the only 2 firmwares that were released to the lt30at to your list they are ATT US branded:
ICS (1264-5716) LT30at_7.0.B.1.152_ATT.zip
JB (1264-5716) LT30at_9.1.F.1.120_ATT.zip, this links were updated by XDA user spectre51
Regards!
