Hey guys,
I'm reading a lot of posts regarding ICS-Roms and I'm confused:
Which one should I flash onto my SGS if I want the most stable experience?
Thanks for your kind help
DK3 + Devil2 0.67 kernel
I use DarkKnight 3 (not 4 which is buggy) with Devil2 0.67 kernel and all works just great! Form me its perfect for daily use in terms of stability and usability. No issues at all. But you may want to try yourself which rom works best for you...
try AOKP B32 with semaphore kernel...
its a gr8 rom... not found any bugs so far
infinitum
I just started using infinitum and very happy with it.
Installation of the roms is quite simple and straightforward so you could easily try a bunch out and make your own mind.
Slim ICS, Elite,Doc's
Cm9 nightly
Sent from my GT-I9000 using Tapatalk 2 Beta-5
Been trying to decide between CM9 nightly and SLIM ICS.
Right now I feel Slim a litle faster and lighter (with semaphore BM kernel is really great).
Remix all the Way
This is the best ROM I have ever tested

My Hat goes off
only niggle I have is the boot animation strobe - a little too aggressive
I am on CM9 latest build and have no problems so far. I was on Darky rom before with lagfix enabled.

+1 The Infinitum v2 currently based on B31 is really great and keeps the battery happy. (With semaphore 1.0.0s) Check it out, some claim it the best ICS AOKP rom out.
I have to say from my experience one cosmics ICSSGS RC 4.1 or 4.2 is perfect. I have had very few problems and it proper stock Ics which I love, I find all the added extras just make problems.

I'm currently on ICSSGS 4.2 with Semaphore 0.9.7. I do work, play games, text, chat, etc..
Only grief I have with my phone right now is the GPS is borked. In some apps.
Can't wait for RC5 though. It's supposed to just rock!
Easy.
Latest CM9 Nightly. So damn good. Fast as a running cat! GPS works just fine, wifi works fine.
I'm also using Infinitys blue theme over that so it's pretty awsome!
Slim ICS is the best one I ever tried. Strongly recommend mate.

agreed...though i use 0.67b
CM9 nightly 14.04 with devil 0.67 is the best for me.
I think Slim ICS 3.3 with 0.67 devil kernel
Hi,
I'm looking for ICS Or JB rom 'cause i'm using CM9 nightly but it's old build but i have problems when tried to download newer build and i have been thinking that should i try other roms too? I want a rom which has just few small bugs or no bugs at all. So, should i just try again and try download CM9 or try another rom?

You can try CM10, it's OK for daily use. Has minor bugs but nothing serious.
It's a little early for JB, give it some time to get stable.
ICS have come a long way and is now amazing for daily use. You can try here: https://www.fixmystuff.in/FMS_Forum...wich-4-0-4-in-samsung-galaxy-s-g-t-i9000.125/
CM 10 is working great but for a simple, stable ROM I would recommend that you give slim ICS a go. I never had a problem with it, from 3.9 to 4.2.
I'm using GNex Beta 6.1 (JB) and coming from TiramiSlim 2.0 (ICS) which are blazing fast ROMs .
Loved the easy installation of TiramiSlim with the Aroma installer
But give JB a try, daily juse can be recommended

For ICS, I recommend cm9 blueberry.
I'm on ICS333 2.0.1 by Team 3xtr3m3 with Semaphore 1.3.0 and i love it. Give it a try. He is also working on a JB Version.

I've been using CM9 for a while but with time it ended up lagging a lot. A switched to SlimICS with Semaphore kernel a few weeks ago and I'm impressed. It's fast and doesn't have bugs (at least in my experience). Absolutely recommended and looking forward to switch to SlimBean as soon as it gets stable for daily use.
Best ICS for Galaxy S
i am a amature with softwares but very much addicted in changing the ROM in my Galaxy S . i switched to custom ROMS in GB itself (Can't wait till the updates from samsung)
I tried various ICS but ended up in somany lags mainly losing my IMEI (which made me sleepless many nights)
Finally now am with Team 3xtr3m3 IMM76L ICS333 2.0.1 & kernel 3.0.8 Semaphore_ICS_1.2.2s. for the past 2-3 months.
am controlling my urge to switch to JB.
am expecting Team 3xtr3m3 JB
Thanks to Team 3xtr3m3 as am enjoying my Galaxy S:good:
I would recommend you to download the newest build of CM9 Nightly, or CM9 RC2 and stay with it some more time. I've been using it for a very long time and I had no problems. Currently I'm using CM10 and I can only say that it's not stable at all yet. You shold wait a while for JB
Thanks, i'm using CM9 now and no bugs! But i'm interested in the TiramiSlim rom.
Is it fast and is it more stable than CM9?
I have no comparison with CM9. I've been using TiramiSlim v.2.0 for a month and I don't complain. Installation is very easy, you may choose what do you want. Compared to GB I can use my SGS longer without a reboot.
Could you give me instructions how to install tiramislim?
In TiramiSlim thread is instruction of installation. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1664049
From SD card, using CWM I installed this ROM. Sometimes you may have problems, e.g. with camera. So install ROM again. Reinstall often solves this problem.
Good luck!
I can absolutely recommend SlimICS. It is fast and stable. I've used it together with Semaphore Kernel and it was nearly perfect.
Though I made the switch to SlimJB now it is just because of one reason. The available space for apps is limited because of the size of the datadata partition. SLIMJB got rid of that partition so I don't have the low memory message anymore. And it has Semaphore Kernel as default.
So for daily use just install SlimICS. You can find it in the development section. I can't post URLs yet. But you can Google SlimICS and it should give you the proper link.
Slim ICS definitely

I know SlimICS is very good rom but i'm interested in TiramiSlim because it has more languages (or finnish language which is my language) and it has more features than SlimICS.

I recommend TiramiSlim, used some time (because no Polish language in SlimICS) and it work flawless
Actually i test JB roms (X-Bean now) and thinking about return to TiramiSlim
I wonder, if language pack from OTA (from TiramiSlim) runs properly with SlimICS. Has anybody tried it?
Then we would have SlimICS with others languages.
Tiramislim
Hmm just looked at tiramislim and its based of slim ICS and runs extremely well I say go for that it has more features as you said

Hi,
which is the best Jelly Bean Rom for the i9000?
I am just on Helly Bean but it has some lags.
What about Slim Bean and CM10?
What are the differences? Which one is the most stable? Which one runs smooth?
Thanks
There's nothing really fully stable atm, you'll have to wait some time.

Please just wait for CyanogenMod 10, I promise it will be worth it
These threads are unneeded and a little stupid. A mod should close it

Yes the answers were not that good so far.
But I hoped this could be a real discussion about the pros and cons of the different roms.

latest v13 build ... jelly bean very smooth/stable /and the lag problems... no problem . I have tried most Jelly Bean roms & it is in my top 2 picks
Works Beautifully
Hi Mate
If you're going to use Jelly Bean, this would be my recommendation
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1820578
It's fast as hell, no bugs/lags or anything that I could pick up in the last 3 days that Im using it. Simply put, one incredible rom from a guy in Turkey. From the look of it, this guy knows what he is doing. It even has OTA, which is an updater that updates your rom without having to format your phone and re-install. I chop and change allot when it comes to operating systems, there's always something new out there, but this one has bowled me over, simply put, one amazing rom.
the best one
tried lots of roms, but combination of magic bean + semaphore 206s kernel works perfectly
I am also wondering the same thing, but I want to know which is the most stable and bug-free ROM.
I want to install it on my girlfriend's phone, but she knows nothing about flashing and she will be away for a few months, so I need something that she won't have to mess around with.
I now have Helly Bean in the latest version on my phone.
It is realy good so far and more or less stable..
But for someone with no experience in this kind of stuff I perhaps would recommend a Gingerbread Rom. I once had MIUI. It is a good experience.
Have you guys get any bugs lately with JB? I seem to install CM10 but I can't access my old photos in my gallery...tried RemIcsJB too.
ive been using elitemovil rc12.1 4.1.1 JRO03L and its been great, no lags, everything has worked for me, no gallery or media issues so far
SlimBean 2.2 is fast smooth and stable for everyday use. Give it a try, you wont be disappointed!

I'm on [ROM GNEXUS PORT] JRO03L 4.1.1 RC12.1, and i can tell you its a very smooth rom! 99% lag free!
Coming from CM7 - getting random freezes and reboots.
Would like the most stable rom and I am reading that CM9 stable release, slim ics, and ics333 are the ones most often mentioned.
Which is the most stable?
I could care less about the bells and whistles - just need a very stable rom.
ICS333 , its simple,fast, and mostly stable.
To avoid FC in yr apps, look at FA&Q you will find an instruction about getting so many FC , install the file ,flash the Rom and gapps ,enjoy

Also, what is the latest and best data fix?
Cant say nothin bout ics333 but been running Slim Ics for like 2 months without any problems!
Go for slim its stable with no FC,s lag or random reboots
Sent via that ninja standing right behind you
ICS333 and CM9 are very similar, I have been using CM9 for about half-year, ics333 only about one week, SlimICS for about a month, SlimICS was for me the best, cause its actually slim, fast, very stable...., all of these roms ive been using with semaphore. I would recommend u to give a try to all of them, then choose
I used CM9 Stable and now I'm on SlimICS 4.2. Both of these ROMs are stable and smooth. But in my opinion Slim is smoother than CM9.
since I'm coming from cm7, I think I'll try cm9 first.
Any recommended data fix scripts?
hi Senior members
pls help me to choose the most stable and graphical 4.2.1 rom that has Lots of features for daily usage
i dont have time to test all of them
plz help tnks

Everybody has his/her own preferences. Only through self-testing can one be truly satisfied if it's the right Rom for him/her.
Users of every Rom can say that what they are using is the best.
Device: GT-i9000
Rom: JB 4.2.1 blackbean-7
Kernel: Mackay 0.234
Try mackay rom or slim rom.
Also as said above everyone had its own taste you might need to flash couple of roms to see which one is good for you.

Like the posts above say each to there own IMO hellybean (both derteufel's and franzyroys) are really stable but also consider c-rom too personally i would look at the op's and screens of the ROMs that interest you most and ask some members from the threads there thoughts and then make your choice

I would say SLIMROM is the best!!!
does slimbean come with its own kernel or does kernal need to be flashed seperatley
Idk CM10 is perfectly stable for me...
I'm both overclocking and using stuff like RAM Manager though and the alternatives might not require that (CM10.1 sure does for me), but I'm very happy with my phone atm

I bet you want to try C-rom mix v5 Silk smooth.

im usig cm10 stable build, although its 4.1.2 im betting the cm10.1 stable of 4.2.1 will be the best once its out.
personnally i like helly bean and mackay rom, they are both fast and not very laggy
I use JB AOSP from pawitp from 20121209 - the only thing which annoys me is incoming calls - when phone rings picture of contact is partially hidden. It lacks some options from CM10 but works like a charm.
CM10.1
I use the latest Nightly from CM10.1 and have'nt come across any problems...
AW: [Q] most stable 4.2.1 Rom
I use the newest HellyBean and got 4900 points on antutu with 114% live OC

Fishears 4.2.1 ROM is pretty slick too. It uses the old partition layout so it can make proper use of the faster iNand.
thanks for everyone
i use [4.2.1] Vanilla Rootbox and it seems the most stable for now....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2122727
..you can also try " C-RoM Mix 4.2.1 v6!!! "
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1925195
I can never stay on the same ROM for too long. However, Slim and Hellybean were quite fast.
My favourite 4.2.1 rom is CyanAOSP.
It comes with the semaphore kernel and a sgs3 design.
