I know this has been discussed before but I cannot find a solution that works for me. I accidently erased my connection settings. In doing so, I lost ability to surf the web. I went to an AT&T store and they input some settings that got me back on IE. But then I noticed a problem when trying to send/recieve e-mail. It will not send and recieve unless I am connected to my computer via USB or WiFi.
I found a thread that shows how to reinput the At&T ISP and MediaNet info in the settings/connections menu. I tried that. Went into manage existing connections, held on the connection and clicked connect. Still doesn't work. I tried downloading and installing the Cingular PDA Media Net settings that I also found in the other thread and still doesn't work.
So I was gonna try to reflash the phone, but then I saw that people were having this same problem after a reflash and didn't havethe problem before. So I wanna try everything possible before I do that.
Another thing I noticed that is when trying to sync my contacts to my PC, Active Sync tells me outlook is not installed on my device. WTF? This never happend before either! Thanks!
I took my G1 to school today and tried to connect to the WiFi there. It is an open network, but it requires you to login using your school account via a website. Usually, when I connect with my laptop and open my browser, I get automatically redirected to the login page.
With my G1, the browser can't load a single page. It says connected to the network, but I have no actual internet access, and can't get to that login page.
Any idea how I can get around this?
Thanks
I have the same issue at my work. I have a captive portal that does not seem to redirect properly on the G1. Other phones seem to like it just fine. My work around is to add my mac to the auth bypass, but this only works because I am the actual admin for the wireless network.
try finding the address your laptop connects to and bookmarking it on the G1 and see if it lets you pull it up that way.
As I am pretty certain entering the redirect URL won't work (though I am trying it tonight) is there ANYTHING else anyone can think of changing or looking at? I had the same issue on my old Nokia N80, but only recently.
As predicted, the URL method did not work. Tried many variations and still no luck. Any further thought on this, or if the G1 will ever support Enterprise authentication?

I have the same issue in our Enterprise captive portal using different Android moldes ( Samsung Galaxy S 2 and mini ), can not get the login page, but works fine with an iPhone.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
Just wondering if anyone else is having problems with the market place this morning?
I've got 4 apps that have updates, and when I try to go to update them, it loads for a while and then says that the windows live id service is not available at the moment.
Trying to figure out if it's a problem with my phone / network / account, or a general server issue?
I've already soft-reset the phone a couple of times and no difference.
I just got my wife a nook color for xmas. I saw that there was root, so I tried to root it. I went through the first step to gain root access via the sd card, and all seemed to go well. However, when I went to do the 'follow-up' steps to create a google account, I was unsuccessful. It keeps telling me that it can't establish a reliable connection to the server. However, I am connected to the internet via wifi. I am able to surf the web. My email app is also working for her comcast account. Super user access was granted, as well. The NookColorTools app seems to be working too. (I haven't tried Talk yet).
Can anyone offer any help? I tried searching for this problem, but I was unable to find anything. Any links or help would be greatly appreciated. TIA
I figured out that I did have to go back via the 8 re-boot method and I went back to stock. All good now. Figured I would post this answer in case others have the same problem.
I had this same issue today and I just plugged the sd card back in and ran the exploit again. Everything works great
I have an issue with my SM-T813 after battery replacement. One issue is that it keeps rebooting unless I connect it via USB to a laptop. So without an active USB connection I will not be able to complete the intial setup because it reboots. If I have an active connection I can work but then I have another issue. It reports that a factory reset has been prevented and wants me to sign in with an existing account. So the FDR flow. That by itself is not an issue. I know the old account, enter the password, confirm via TFA on another device using this account but then it simply goes back to the login screen. So I'm sort of stuck. I cannot go to the the configuration to unlock the device for flashing an new recovery. Any suggestions? I tried different FDR bypass options but none of them seem to work.
