I have broken power button,when i plug my phone to pc ,led turn red and pc finds my phone normal.But there is no hard drive.How to turn it on?
If you don't want to pay money to fix your power button, you can flash a custom rom with the volume2wakeup mod like the Cyanogenmod 10.1
(you can find it in the developer section) to use your volume keys to wake up your phone.

i have cm7 in my phone.
sorry i m bit newbie.
i remapped powerbutton fuctions to trackball with cm7 i lock my screen with Lock app.
reboot with reboot app.
Powerbutton is broken so i cant start my phone i need charger

Apparently theres no other way...why dont u take it to the sevice centre htc.aNd whats the need of switching off and switching on everytime....use it to the maximum.

Power button is POWER. Which means - it's physically connected to a controller that powers the phone up. Which means - there's no way to remap it, just as there's no way to remap your doorbell button to turn on your lights - you need to rewire it for that.
Hi guys !
My power button just broke on my SGS GT I9000, I was able to change the lock button from power button to volume up button. But when my phone is off, I can't turn it on back without putting it on download mode and flashing the kernel to force a reboot.
Is there a way to rebind the power up button on an other button when the phone is off ?

Thanks but that's not really helpfull, because I'vre already did that, and my volume up buttons is just recognize as power/lock button when my phone is on, but not when my phone is off.
I did it in the aries-keypad.kl file in the keylayout folder. Maybe I have to do it in an other file ?

Yes I've tried, but it says that my phone isn't compatible. I've download the galaxy S version, and it says the same. I think I'll have to repair the button. Any idea about the price ?
Hi , i have a htc sensation xl which is in good nic.
The power button managed to die and i decided for the mean time to change the power button config to the volume button.
The software asked me to reboot the phone and i disconnected the battery and tried to turn it on by plugging it into charge or into the pc while holding the volume down key..
Now the issue is im sure is that since it is set to volume it doesn't want to boot.
Is there anyway around this?
or is it stuck until the power button is fixed?
Also to fix it do i need to replace the whole upper flex which includes the power button volume sensor etc

My Xperia Z power on only when i connect to the charger and i press power button until it vibrate one time.
I can't power on without charger. Also when i have to lock/unlock the device (when it is on), power button doesen't work.
Volume + button doesen't work when device is on.
But i can use it to navigate through the recovery or to connect my phone to pc in fastboot mode.
I can't use power button to confirm all in recovery mode.
What can I do? Any solution?

I think ur power button got damaged. 90℅.
Try this..
Install any deodexed rom and then install Invisible power button mod in statusbar or 5 button navigation bar mod. U can use power button from ur Navigation bar.
