Is anyone still getting facebook fed into blinkfeed? Not sure if I was a little bit over aggressive with the latest Aroma install or if Zuckerberg has found a way to block it in readiness for his Facebook Home release.

Edit: scratch that. 2 mins after I post that facebook starts hitting my feed after a 3 day hiatus.
I have got the same problem. Flashed trickdroid, removed Facebook and twitter during Installation in Aroma and now cant Set up blinkfeed after Installation of Facebook and twitter

How about disabling the facebook app from setting/app and then installing an alternative to facebook app??
that should get rid of the gallery of facebook or its icon from gallery!!
let us know!!
-havnt gotten mine yet thats y the suggestion..
hope it helps
Unfortunately you can't because the built in app it's the android version and you can't disable it and download a version
I've spent hours trying to solve it without success

okay if you cant disable the facebook app, say you dont sign in to the app?
and just download an alternative to facebook and use that?
The only way is to do that I suppose the internet version is possible
I haven't found any decent app based version yet

Gallery > Albums > Options (3 vertical dots top-right) > Show/Hide albums > Untick Facebook / Picasa / Twitter etc.
---------- Post added at 03:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:11 PM ----------
Or
Settings > Accounts and Sync > Facebook > Untick Live feed ? I dont think removes it from the gallery main screen but it will probably stop it from automatically updating every time you open gallery.
I used titanium back up to freeze "Facebook for HTC sense 5" and that seemed to work. Haven't noticed any side effects yet.

Any one have luck updating gtalk to hangouts, I suppose if your rooted it's probably simple but if your unrooted as I am than the talk app is a system app bloatware and hasn't updated to hangouts

I'm rooted and just deleted talk.apk from /system/app rebooted and dled hangouts from the market. It works

OP asked how we'd go about this if we aren't rooted. Curious about this as well.
You can do it via the play store through the webpage.
Says i have hangouts installed but its not in my app tray..when i hit open from the play market hangout app page it opens Talk
Same thing happened to me...just install it from the play.google.com site as @robfactory said above. Fixed.
installed from web to device and rebooted phone
I'll be sticking with talk. Hangouts is a bit......how do I say it..... IT SUCKS:what:

This is how I did it. Still had a shortcut for Talk in one of my homescreen folders, but just deleted it and replaced it with Hangouts. I like it.

Hate to say it bud, but step one for anything XDA, is root your phone .
Stay on the stock ROM if you want (god knows why, less battery life, slower phone, less secure phone, still the same phone and functionality, but that is your choice to stay on the ROM it came with), but you should add root capabilities. You can stay on the same ROM, only downside is I'm pretty sure there is no way to stay with your current setup, HTC Dev unlock WILL wipe your existing settings, widgets, profiles, apps, etc. But you can flash just the small root package and modify nothing that the phone came with originally. Rooting your phone is required here at XDA (lol not really, I just say that). Anyway, sorry I don't have anything useful to say about the app, but trust me... You want root Besides, you can deny root access to anything. Who is SYSTEM anyway? Why does he have all the powers and I haz so little?
P.S.
Do it.
I am getting this...

I believe the update was pushed today, I saw it in play store as the actual update and it worked fine for me. I got the error message in the previous post once, but restarting the app fixed it. I do get my contact list disappearing quite often.
So far I feel the contact list could use some managing, I miss seeing my talk list and seeing who's online but I suppose I could try it out some more. There is a decent amount of emoticons added, but everything feels very basic and minimalistic. Not quite what I was expecting, could be because it's early on.
All in all, still feels like a beta.

Yeah just got it today, feels weird that's for sure.
I cannot find anywhere after. The newest facebook update how to change stories from "top stories" to "most recent"...did they take this feature away?

Top left button, news feed settings.
Or you can now slide left/right go get to the menu or chat

I don't have a top left button, not a news feed settings within the menu page.
I tried clearing cache, data, deleting the app and reinstalling...

OOOO, you have this new weird version I've heard about...are you signed up for the beta testing?
And I can't swipe to the right to get to the menu, I have to hit the bookmark button at the bottom right ad shown.

No, just downloaded / updated from the market.

Now that's weird. I've seen 1 other person I know with it and he's on the beta test (as am I). Perhaps post on his G+ post about it...

SGS 3 here, I had the same issue, my Facebook for Android version was v3.4 and I had no top left menu. The strange thing is that my wife has the same phone and the same version of the Facebook app....and the menu was there.
I just uninstalled the Facebook app and installed v3.3 from here:

I have the menu back now.
Hi all!
Does someone has this problem that Twitter can't be authorized to the use in htc BlinkFeed? If I try from the BlinkFeed settings I can't authorize Twitter, if I try from the General settings it doesn't work at all.
Anyone experiencing the same issue?
Thank you!

You on the Beta of Twitter? If so, it doesn't interact with HTC Sense so won't work in BlinkFeed

Uninstalled and reinstalled Twitter (though I think a clear data would probably work too)
Did NOT open the Twitter app or add a Twitter Account through settings
Instead I went into Blinkfeed -> Topics and Services -> Services & Apps and clicked on Twitter
Get prompted to enter uesrname and password
Then get the Authorize Twitter for HTC Sense screen et viola Twitter is back in Blinkfeed
It worked for me, thank you very much!

Cool, glad it worked for somebody else!
Ok so I am seriously annoyed right now. The reason my note 3 is sitting collecting dust is because I loved my m7 so much that when I had the opportunity to get a m8 I was glad to change over again. One big reason was missing my BlinkFeed. My problem is every time I click a Facebook post in BlinkFeed it opens to my Facebook app but not the actual post. So I have to back out and click the BlinkFeed link a second time. I can deal with that but if it is a video someone posted I can't get past the error when I try to open the actual video. It tells me post is not found. But if I go through my Facebook app and search through to find it again it opens.
Is this normal? I am bone stock 4.4.3 and haven't bothered rooting yet
