I think its to do with the Power Save mode and/or the Haptic Feedback setting.. uncheck that and try..

Battery full notification

Anyone know how to turn the battery full notification off or change the tone to something other than my default notification? This is getting really old now, maybe I missed something in my settings. I'm on 2.2 btw

I wanna know too. On 2.1

would also love to know this.....got sick of getting woken up at night when battery was full. Ended up using tasker to silence it, but would be nice. I read somewhere the reason it happens is because in froyo they changed the tone from being a "system sound" to being a "notification sound"
Hopefully in the final build they will have an option to change it. I like knowing my battery is full, but not THAT much! Just seems weird...

bigdessert,
Could you share your Tasker setup, please?

Go to system/media/audio/ui and remove or rename the TW_battery_caution.ogg file.

i've renamed the ogg file, but since i put my phone to vibrate only overnight, how can i make the vibrate notification stop when the battery is full. believe it or not, the vibration can wake me up overnight (i'm a light sleeper).
Hmm, I must be lucky with this "feature"(annoyance). I get the pop-up that the battery is full but I have yet to hear it make a sound. I have an app called SmartBar that lets me change my audio levels without going through the menus all the time, so maybe thats silencing the full charge notification.

Do you use Google Voice? Do you know of a workaround to get google voice text notifications to work with noled?
I noticed mine was force closing when I would wake up the phone using the power button.
if you wake up the phone using the home button, it works fine

I don't use Google Voice, sorry.
I found that if I touch the screen or any other buttons than the proper button to "unlock" it, it will force close.
Anyone using the Blink option? I find that displaying the icon for any option higher than 250ms will cause the phone to do the Nexus S style power off every time...
Mine doesn't force close but using SMS pop-up doesn't let the message turn off...

Same here. Ive disabled the screen too in the Misc. settings of noled, but its got the same issue.
I also get force closes if I don't press the home button.
so the OP's question is still not answered in full, is there another app that works? or another app at all for that matter.
When I see the force close... just click on the wait button and it works fine after that.

Calendar force closes on Gingerbread

After flashing Overcome v2 RC1, the Calendar app won't start. It just continually force closes.
I've only see one person complain about it in the GB Issues thread in General. Is it happening to you?
I'very found that if you go through the settings, making sure a notification sound is selected and so on, it will stop force closing..
Hope this helps

Thanks for the reply. Where exactly can I find this notification sound?
The only one I know of, is under Sound - Notification Ringtone which is already selected.

[Q] Dim/disable capacative backlights

I want to turn off the capacitive button backlights, for when i'm using my phone at night, but I also don't want a background app running and killing my battery.
I've tried searching around, and the closest I've come is editing the file under
sys/devices/platform/leds-pm8058/leds/button-backlight ;
and changing brightness and currents to 0.
This works as a temporary measure only, however, as soon as I reboot my phone, it goes back to the brightness of a thousand suns.
Help?

Yup that was the first possibility i thought of.. but didn't check the file he mentioned

Actually, just modifying the file seems to work fine, as long as I don't reset my phone, which I don't do too much anyway.

There's an app called "total screen control" that can dim and turn off the softkeys backlight. It's not free but you can search google for it.

I'm having the same issue with not getting notifications. Haven't found a reason for this yet or how to fix it.

Works fine for me. Don't forget to go to the app info in settings and make sure the "show notifications" checkbox is checked. Then don't forget to go to the settings within the Hangouts app --> SMS --> check notifications. If all else fails, uninstall updates and reinstall from Play store. Good luck!

Perhaps the texts from Sprint's network aren't playing nice with Hangouts? Stearic, can you verify if you're on sprint or not? I know Sprint's sms system is slightly different than most other carriers. If this is a Sprint issue, then there really isn't much you can do...

I'm on verizon. Txt's from both other vzw users and from google sms. Where are both these "show notifications" options at? You mean both for the email section and sms section in hangouts? Those are both set for me and i still don't get any.
I had this problem when I first installed it. Couldn't figure out for the life of me why I wasn't getting any notifications. I had go sms installed at the time and even disabled notifications from that. Still no dice. Finally I uninstalled go SMS completely and it finally started working properly. My advice if you have any other messaging app uninstall it even if you don't use it.

Kinda sucky that you have to do that, but at least now I get a chance to test Hangouts...
The one thing I'm definitely gonna miss from Handcent is the popup notifications...

I'm using Handcent and had the same issue. I fixed it by disabling Default SMS in Handcent. What I miss is the number of messages notification on the app icon and the notification bar.
